- Forces foul blood out through his swollen pores 2.

| Teaching | Function and significance |
|---|---|
| Improved Five Body Forging Methods | Supplies deeper versions of the Azure Scale Skin Tempering, True Essence Condensation, Blood Burning, Bone Hammering, and Marrow Cleansing methods. It states that the resulting foundation can support opening five divine treasures 2. |
| Bone Rune integration | Teaches Qingyang Huan to merge his Qiongqi Bone Rune with his body and comprehend the Dao through it, rather than merely borrow its power 4 5. |
| Combat-based consolidation | Explains that further resource consumption cannot replace fighting when Qingyang Huan has not mastered his accumulated strength 13. |
| Repeated Body Casting | Provides additional formulas for recultivation, helping Qingyang Huan raise his strength beyond forty-eight thousand jin 42. |
| Brown Bear Source Treasure Method | Fulfills its promise to provide a method capable of opening six repositories after Qingyang Huan reaches the Body Casting Extreme Realm 47. |
- Guides Qingyang Huan’s practice of the Kui Ox Spear Technique, emphasizing simple, effective killing moves over elaborate techniques 24 25.
- Explains the advantages of ancient-clan bloodlines and why thirty thousand jin is a threshold rather than the final limit of Body Casting 41.

Detection and Identification

- Charges the giant apes’ Blood Qi as payment for the contract 47.
Personality
The Stone Spear is proud, abrasive, and quick to strike its wielder. It calls itself an “exalted” or “venerable” being and routinely dismisses Qingyang Huan’s cultivation and fighting ability. When accused of stealing an eagle’s essence, it insists that absorbing the Blood Qi through its own ability gives it the right to do so 1 2 3.
Its teaching is harsh and transactional. It expects repayment in Blood Qi, warns that survival matters more than talent, and admits that Qingyang Huan can be replaced if he dies. Nevertheless, it protects him during cultivation, shares the essence it needs for itself, and honors its promise to teach a repository-opening method. Qingyang Huan finds this combination of reluctance and assistance difficult to understand 4 17 40 47.
It also expresses immediate hostility toward the Wood Race, declaring that members of other races deserve death 5 24.
History
Discovery and Awakening
Three years before its first appearance, Qingyang Huan was cornered near an ancient mountain by a Qiongqi-bloodline beast. The creature abruptly fled after a fleeting purple glow appeared. The Qingyang Clan subsequently hollowed out the mountain and cleared the surrounding trees, and the buried Stone Spear came into Qingyang Huan’s possession 1 2.
He spent the following years feeding it fierce beasts. After it consumed a bloodline-awakened Scale-Horned Eagle, their dispute revealed its ability to move and communicate independently. It credited him with awakening it, purified his body, and transmitted improved versions of his clan’s cultivation methods. His refusal to release it eventually won a further bargain: reach the Body Casting Extreme Realm within two years and receive a method for opening at least six treasures 1 2 3.
Rebuilding Qingyang Huan’s Foundation
The spear helped Qingyang Huan restart Body Casting and reinterpret his Qiongqi Bone Rune as a means of comprehending slaughter. It supplied essence and defended him during the process, creating a debt he intended to repay with ten times as many hunted beasts 4 5.
Its identification of the Wood Race led Qingyang Huan to discover enemies gathering near Qingyang territory. Its assistance also helped him obtain a thousand-year tree heart. Meanwhile, he passed its improved Body Forging Methods to his clan, prompting the elders to have the children relearn their cultivation 6 8 13.
After the Inkstone Mountain soldiers’ ambush, Qingyang Huan challenged the spear for not warning him. It answered with a lesson about killing or being killed, then supplied stored Blood Qi while he recovered in hiding 16 17.
Extreme Realm and Repository Opening
When Qingyang Huan reached the Body Casting Extreme Realm, the spear challenged his belief that the achievement made him exceptional across the Great Wilderness. Its explanations and additional formulas drove him into repeated rounds of recultivation 40 41 42.
It later absorbed the dead giant apes’ Blood Qi and exchanged that payment for the contract used to subdue Zi’er. After teaching the Brown Bear Source Treasure Method, it rejected Qingyang Huan’s request for a ready-made nine-repository method. Qingyang Huan subsequently entered the Divine Treasure Realm and opened two repositories before stopping to strengthen his foundation 45 46 47 48.
