• Qingmu and Su Huilan followed the islanders to the central lake, sensed a Tapu’s immense mental energy, and entered a woman’s dream to witness the island’s history and a ritual involving pyramids and a rainbow bridge.
• Qingmu and Su Huilan pursued Alice and Anderson through the stream, found them in a cave, and learned that Mrs. Larry remained captive after the Discovery was attacked and Alice’s group became trapped on the island.
• Su Huilan treated Anderson’s poisoning while Qingmu promised Alice they would rescue Mrs. Larry and search for a way to save him.
• Qingmu and Petru fought the islanders, captured a tribesman, and Qingmu discovered white plants whose sap reduced the blackness around a poisoned wound.
• Qingmu entered Su Huilan’s dream to contact Boss Coal, who reported being driven into the sea by an old man’s powerful mental attack and losing track of Hanran.

Qingmu and Su Huilan searched the warped island for Petru and Mrs. Larry as its tribe, altar, and strange river became caught in a lunar disaster. The island’s space began collapsing, and the group followed the savages through an upward-flowing waterfall toward a crater on the moon.

• Mei Yiqiu gave Bian Ziyuan the Space Box, and Mei Ziqing explained how Möbius strips and a Klein bottle could provide vast storage as Dream Guide prepared for mass sales.
• Su Huilan and Qingmu investigated the island’s strange mental field, learned that the river and waterfall flowed backward, and set out to rescue Mrs. Larry and Petru.
• Petru escaped his captors with the injured Mrs. Larry, hid from the tribe at an altar, and endured an apparent snake attack that proved to be an illusion.
• As a huge dark red moon rose, Qingmu and Su Huilan found Petru and learned that Mrs. Larry was beneath the altar, while the moon’s gravity drew a towering tsunami toward the island.
• Mrs. Larry studied the altar’s symbols and geometric patterns as Petru tried to rescue her, and falling stones forced them to flee through rising mist.
• Qingmu entered the shaman’s Divine Wooden Staff and joined Su Huilan, Crow, and Hanran in holding the island’s warped space together against the moon’s force.

Qingmu’s group reunited with Situ on the island and learned that their time there had passed differently from the time they remembered. Nearly a year later, Bi Shenghua waited for Qingmu’s return while Mei Yiqiu monitored suspected Parasites and Huang Liang received a new assignment involving the Space Box.

• Mrs. Larry studied the altar’s strange script, and Qingmu connected its fragments to a warped space that might have carried an ancient civilization across the sea of stars.

Back in the outside world, Yao Jingjing uncovered family history tied to a 1931 photograph, and Bi Shenghua moved to protect the old willow at Mulberry Garden.
