Brevis Ice Plain.
The biting wind howled, swirling up snowflakes and reducing visibility to less than fifty meters.
The Baneblade Tank's engine roared dully as it struggled forward through the thick snow.
Dominic rode his beast mount at breakneck speed alongside the tank, his face showing no sign of cold or fatigue, only excitement.
For the past two days, they have been wandering aimlessly across the ice plains, searching for traces of the Dragon of Frost.
We didn't find the Dragon of Frost, but we did encounter quite a few small, wandering Orks troops.
But this was exactly what Dominic wanted to do; he'd been itching to get his hands on it for a while.
Every time he encounters Orks, he's the first to charge in, brandishing his Power Axe and rampaging through the Orks horde.
His personal guard and the Sisters of Silence were all battle-hardened elites, with excellent teamwork and astonishing combat power.
On one occasion, they encountered nearly a thousand Orks.
As a result, he wiped out all the Orks in less than twenty minutes, while his squad was almost completely unscathed.
Over the course of two days, Dominic's hunting party had killed at least five or six thousand Orks.
Among them were some big guys who gave Dominic a chance to have a one-on-one fight.
But Dominic never forgot his true purpose.
"Sir, there's a small savage tribe ahead," a guard reported loudly as he returned from scouting on a motorcycle.
"A savage?" Dominic's eyes lit up.
"Let's go check it out; maybe they know the whereabouts of the Dragon of Frost."
The group quickened their pace and headed towards the savage tribe.
This is a very small savage tribe with only a dozen or so tents.
Upon seeing the fully armed Imperial Army, the savages in the tribe were so frightened that they hid.
Only a few elderly, weak, sick, and disabled people, carrying stone spears, stood trembling at the entrance of the tribe.
Dominic dismounted and walked up to an old savage, asking in Gothic, "Do you know where the Dragon of Frost is?"
The other party seemed confused, clearly not understanding the Imperium's official language.
Fortunately, Dominic brought along that Zeta-level Psychic Power guardian, who not only possessed mind-reading abilities but was also a top-tier translator.
She relayed Dominic's words to the old savage, whose face turned deathly pale upon hearing the words " Dragon of Frost."
He knelt down with a thud, kowtowing repeatedly towards the depths of the icy plain, muttering incantations.
The other savages also knelt down, their expressions filled with utmost piety and fear.
Dominic and Ralfa exchanged a glance, both seeing "I knew it" in each other's eyes.
It seems that the legend of the Dragon of Frost is deeply ingrained in the minds of these savages.
After exchanging words for a while, the other party seemed unwilling to tell them more about the rumors surrounding the Dragon of Frost.
But Dominic, having traveled to various star systems, has considerable experience in how to get along with local natives.
Without saying a word, he ran back to the ice plains and killed any Orks he caught.
This time, instead of letting the Orks corpses be buried by the wind and snow, he cut off their heads one by one.
They also had the fleet airdrop a box of supplies.
Carrying the Orks head and a large box of supplies, Dominic returned to the savage tribe.
He stated that he was a devout follower of the Dragon of Frost and had a deep-seated hatred for the Orks who were ravaging the Icefield.
The reason for this trip to find the Dragon of Frost is to obtain its guidance in order to drive away these wretched Orks.
Upon seeing hundreds of Orks heads and abundant supplies, the old savage bowed once more in one direction.
After a long while, the old man finally stopped kneeling and bowing.
He raised his head and said in a trembling voice, "God, the dragon, lives on Twin Peaks Mountain..."
" Twin Peaks Mountain?" Dominic asked hastily, "Where is Twin Peaks Mountain?"
The old savage stretched out his withered finger, pointing in a certain direction deep within the icy plains:
"Over there, that's the sacred land of the dragon. Mortals are forbidden to approach; anyone who does will turn into an ice sculpture."
After saying this, he kept kowtowing, repeatedly saying, "Dragon, please forgive me."
Dominic looked in the direction the old savage was pointing, but couldn't see anything.
But the dispatched fighter jets quickly located the target.
Amidst the swirling snow, two towering mountain peaks could be vaguely seen, nestled close together like twin sisters.
Twin Peaks Mountain.
The habitat of the Dragon of Frost.
Dominic's heart pounded with excitement.
He searched all day and finally got a clue!
"Great!" Dominic shouted excitedly, leaping onto his horse. "Let's go! To Twin Peaks Mountain!"
"My lord!" The captain of the guards quickly stopped him.
" Twin Peaks Mountain is located at the deepest part of the ice field, with complex terrain, harsh climate, and is said to be infested with numerous monsters; it's extremely dangerous."
"Danger?" Dominic grinned, revealing a set of white teeth.
"The more dangerous the place, the more likely it is to harbor mythical creatures!"
"Set off!"
He spurred his horse, and the beast let out a neigh, galloping wildly towards Twin Peaks Mountain.
Ralfa watched his excited retreating figure, shook his head helplessly, and quickly followed after him.
In the sky, the Lightning Fighter squadron roared and took the lead in flying towards Twin Peaks Mountain.
No one noticed that behind a huge ice rock not far behind them, a silver figure silently appeared.
Sorine watched the departing hunting party, a complex light flashing in her red eyes.
She raised her wrist and pressed the button on the communicator.
The target is heading towards Twin Peaks Mountain.
"Received, be careful." Lynn's voice came through the communicator.
Sorine turned off her communicator, and her figure once again disappeared into the swirling snow, closely following behind the hunting party.
The people of the savage tribe stared at the frozen steaks and the Hell Lasgun that could shatter three meters of ice with a single shot, lost in thought.
"The target is heading towards Twin Peaks Mountain and is expected to arrive in three hours."
A cold, electronic voice came through the encrypted communicator, accompanied by the howling of wind and snow.
Inside the governor's mansion, Lynn's expression turned somewhat serious.
The other party eventually found a clue.
"Three hours... not enough." Lynn's voice was low and urgent.
" Rena, how long will it take for the Trygon to transfer all units?"
"At least four hours," Rena's voice echoed in his mind.
"The underground passage is too narrow. To move the remaining hundreds of test subjects and residual materials, the tunnel needs to be expanded."
"If they go in now, they'll definitely find traces!"
Lynn took a deep breath and pressed the communicator button again. " Sorine, buy me some time."
"It will only take one hour, one hour is enough."
There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the communicator.
Sorine was hidden behind a huge ice rock, watching the snow dust kicked up by Dominic's hunting party in the distance.
A flicker of hesitation crossed her red eyes.
Delaying the inevitable means she has to take the initiative, and once exposed, her identity will be impossible to hide.
That's nothing, the main issue is her relationship with Lynn...
But she remembered the hope that had been rekindled in the eyes of the common people in the Lower City, and everything Lynn had done for Brevis over the past six months.
"Okay," Sorine uttered softly.
"I'll try my best, but I can't guarantee I can hold them off for an hour. They're pretty good."
"Thank you," Lynn said with a hint of gratitude in her voice.
"You're welcome," Sorine's tone returned to its usual coldness.
"I just don't want to see Brevis turn into scorched earth."
Communication cut off.
Sorine put away her communicator and her gaze fell on the skeleton of Squig, half-buried in the snow in the distance.
The previously tightly furrowed, beautiful eyebrows relaxed.
If you want to legally stall for time, what's better than Orks?
