Ragnar roared at his guards:
"Lock him up! After the bombing is over, I'll personally throw him into a big pot and stew him into a broth!"
"Yes, boss!"
The guards escorted Toothy toward the underground prison.
Toothy neither resisted nor begged for mercy.
He simply glanced back at Ragnar and sighed.
But to Ragnar's surprise, the bombing showed no signs of ending.
Three full days passed, and the Imperium fleet continued to circle over Duolidi, bombarding it day and night.
It turned out that after confirming that the Orks were no longer able to resist, Dominic immediately made a bold decision.
Extend the Carl II supply line directly into Dorito orbit.
Huge transport ships began arriving in droves from Brevis, delivering ammunition, fuel, and food directly to the Imperial Fleet over Duolidi.
The Imperial Fleet established temporary supply points in orbit, enabling them to resupply while fighting.
From then on, Dorito's Orks were plunged into an endless nightmare.
The Imperium's bombing continued 24 hours a day without stopping.
Whether it's day or night, shells are always falling from the sky, and explosions are always heard.
The Orks creatures hid underground, afraid to show their faces.
They dared not go out to gather mushrooms, dared not go out to raise Squig, and dared not even go out to breathe a breath of fresh air.
Although their iron stomachs can even survive by gnawing on inorganic materials such as wood and steel bars.
However, without proper food, they become extremely weak.
Every day, large numbers of Orks are killed by the aftershocks of bombing and the high temperatures because they are too weak.
Even more terrifying, the Imperium's bombings precisely targeted every piece of land where mushrooms might sprout.
As soon as a mushroom sprouts, it will be blown to ashes by artillery shells.
For the first time, the very foundation upon which the Orks depended for survival and reproduction suffered a devastating blow.
Their terrifying rate of reproduction appeared so pale and powerless for the first time in the face of the Imperium's relentless artillery fire.
"Sir, should we use biological weapons? That would eliminate the Orks much faster," the adjutant suggested to Dominic.
"Just drop a few gene-virus torpedoes, and within a month, all the Orks on Dorito will be wiped out."
Dominic hesitated for a moment, thinking about the purpose of his trip and... Kerry's future.
Finally, he shook his head and said, "Don't use biological weapons."
" Dorito is an important Agri World; biological weapons would pollute the land and water, and it would take hundreds of years to recover."
"Our ultimate goal is to reclaim Dorito and rebuild agricultural production, not to acquire a useless wasteland."
The adjutant nodded. "You're right. Then proceed with the conventional bombing as planned."
"Once the number of Orks is nearly depleted, we'll launch a landing operation and decapitate Ragnar."
Just as Dorito's bombing was in full swing, the atmosphere in the captain's cabin of the Pinnacle Black Obsidian was somewhat tense.
Lynn stood before the enormous porthole, gazing at the war-torn planet Dorito in the distance, his brow furrowed slightly.
Rena stood beside him, her purple eyes once again clouded with melancholy.
" Lynn, there's been a new discovery in the Dead World A," Rena said softly.
Lynn turned around, looked at Rena, and asked, "What did you find?"
"My Zerg swarm encountered some trouble while colonizing the Dead World A." Rena's expression turned serious.
" The Dead World A is mostly barren desert, where creatures possess strong radiation and are highly aggressive."
"At first I didn't pay much attention; I just optimized the swarm's radiation resistance."
"But half a day ago, a massive earthquake struck the Dead World A. After the earthquake, a building appeared in the center of the desert."
Rena paused for a moment, as if recalling what the building looked like:
"It was a black pyramid."
"A black pyramid?" Lynn turned his head, his eyes filled with doubt.
In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Black Pyramid is the iconic structure of the Necrons.
Beneath each black pyramid lies an army of Necrons.
They are one of the oldest races in the Milky Way, possessing technological levels far exceeding those of humans.
Once they awaken, they will bring devastating catastrophe to the entire Milky Way.
"That's right." Rena nodded and sent a holographic image into Lynn's mind.
In the video, a massive black pyramid stands in the desolate desert.
It is made entirely of some unknown black metal.
At the top of the pyramid, a faint green light shone.
"My swarm attempted to approach the pyramid, but was blocked by an unknown energy barrier, and the radiation intensity around the pyramid is increasing dramatically."
"I can sense a very ancient and powerful force slumbering beneath the pyramids."
Lynn stared at the black pyramid in the holographic image, his expression turning extremely serious.
He originally thought that the greatest threat to the Calixis System was the Orks and Chaos.
Unexpectedly, the Dead World A is actually a Tomb World of Necrons.
This is undoubtedly a huge variable.
If the Necrons awakens, all his previous plans will be completely disrupted.
The situation in the Calixis System will become more complex and dangerous.
Lynn took a deep breath, suppressing the turmoil in her heart.
He looked at Rena and said earnestly:
" Rena, order all Zerg swarms in Dead World A to immediately retreat to a safe distance."
"Do not attempt to attack the pyramid, and do not approach it."
"Closely monitor the pyramids and report to me immediately if anything unusual happens."
"Understood." Rena nodded.
Lynn turned around again, and for some reason, his furrowed brows suddenly relaxed.
He gazed ahead, a smile playing on his lips.
"Perhaps this isn't entirely bad news..."
I'd like to apologize to everyone first. This is not only because it took up a section of the main text, but also because of the book's poor quality. I apologize to all the readers who have persevered to this point.
I think I tried my best to write this book, but things didn't go as planned. Too many factors prevented me from maintaining the quality of the mid-term. I'm a senior graduating from university, and this semester I have to write a thesis and complete the credits I haven't earned yet, which makes me feel very frustrated. The drawback of the platform is that if an author wants to get perfect attendance, they can only miss one day a month and have to write 4,000 words on the other days. This leads to having to pad the story a lot at times because I don't have a real buffer time to think about the later parts of the story. This situation is even more obvious for an author like me who doesn't have any drafts. Of course, it's also my own problem. I'm not good enough and I didn't control the plot well, because this is the first time I've written a novel that has exceeded 200,000 words.
But the most crucial thing is that at the beginning of this year, I broke up with my first love, whom I had been dating for more than two years. Every now and then, my emotions would resurface, and the pain was truly indescribable.
I now live in the place we've lived together for over two years. Whenever I go out and see familiar streets and the roadside stalls we used to frequent, a certain figure always seems to appear in my mind, and I always lose myself in thought for a moment. We've been through so much together. I vaguely remember accompanying her to look for part-time work. She found a very cheap job, only four yuan an hour. I kept mocking her, laughing at her for only earning four yuan an hour, but in the end, I didn't let her take it because I felt sorry for her and felt sorry for her. We were really poor back then, but thinking back on it still makes me laugh.
Just two days ago, I passed by that stir-fried snail rice noodle shop she loves again, and I ordered a bowl. This was the first time I had stir-fried snail rice noodles this year, and damn, it was awful! It was really awful, and it didn't taste like it at all.
I ran into her again today. She seemed to have just picked up a package. We passed each other without saying a word. I think a year ago, I probably would never have imagined that we would become so distant. Haha.
She followed my author account, but I think she'll never see this text. I wish her happiness.
