Personality

An orphan in his previous life, Lin Heng deeply values Liu Ling'er's affection. He supports her against the palace's mistreatment and regards her as his true mother. After her forced ascension, his priority becomes reaching the God Realm so that she will not have to struggle there alone 3 13 29.

He is pragmatic about protection and status. He accepts a childhood betrothal partly because the Great Xia Imperial Clan offers another powerful safeguard, while privately believing that sufficient strength will eventually free him from an unwanted marriage. He prefers a comfortable upbringing to being constantly bullied or hunted 25.

Lin Heng is sharp-tongued, confident, and openly contemptuous of hypocrisy. He refuses to excuse the Su Clan's attacks merely because his mother has shown mercy. Nevertheless, he distinguishes malicious opponents from unwilling participants: during the tournament, he severely injures those acting with ill intent while sparing others comparable harm 30 35 38.

History

Transmigration and Life in the Womb

Lin Heng transmigrates into Liu Ling'er's unborn child on the Divine Firmament Continent, retaining an awakened consciousness roughly two hundred days before his birth. His mother, a former palace maid elevated to secondary consort, faces poisoning and assassination threats within the Chishui palace 1.

After his first physique reward unexpectedly benefits Liu Ling'er, he turns her growing strength into their principal protection. Repeated sign-ins supply her with Mu Wanqing's techniques and treasures, cultivation pills, and lotus seeds. Birth and the Defense of Chishui

Born safely after the Ancestor Worship Festival, Lin Heng immediately speaks and asks to retain his previous name. Lin Changqing assigns Hong San to care for him. When Shi Feifei painfully pinches his cheek, Lin Heng calls for his mother to strike her, and Liu Ling'er does so 16.

During the Devil Race siege, he refuses to leave without Liu Ling'er despite attempts to evacuate him separately. She defeats the attackers, kills the devil god Black Dragon, and returns to her son, leaving the court to confront her previously concealed identity 18 19 22.

Betrothal and Early Childhood

Dongfang Lin proposes an engagement between Lin Heng and his nine-year-old daughter, Dongfang Yao. Lin Heng agrees, recognizing the protection the alliance offers. When Dongfang Yao demands that he reach the Martial Emperor Realm before thirty, he challenges her confidence in meeting the same standard and declares that he will accomplish it 24 25 26 27.

He begins walking at two months and diligently visits sign-in locations. Over the following three years, he accumulates a vast treasury of cultivation resources and develops a Divine Body and divine soul 28.

Liu Ling'er's Forced Ascension

During another Demon and Devil Race invasion, the enemy opens the concealed Ascension Passage in the Mist-Hidden Forest. Liu Ling'er is sent into the God Realm, where returning to the continent is effectively impossible for a newly ascended cultivator 29.

Her departure removes Lin Heng's strongest protector and revives hostility in the palace. More concerned for his mother's welfare than his own, he resolves to reach the God Realm quickly. He restores Hong San's strength and equips him to serve as a powerful defender 29 30 31 32.

Tournament and Ten Fiends Prison

At the Chishui martial arts tournament, Lin Heng catches a two-hundred-jin iron ball thrown toward him and hurls it back, injuring Su Zhenyu. After Lin Xuan and Lin Feng mock him, he challenges the assembled elite geniuses and defeats more than thirty opponents. He cripples Lin Feng's arm and destroys Lin Xuan's Purple Mansion after the latter attempts a concealed-needle attack 34 37 38 39.

Sentenced to two months in the Ten Fiends Prison, Lin Heng views the location as a new sign-in opportunity. On the tenth night, Su Song and a Lingxi Martial Thearch attempt to kill him, but Hong San overwhelms them. Lin Heng refuses Su Song's pleas for mercy 39 40 42.

Hong San subsequently retaliates against the hostile consorts, killing Su Ying. Lin Heng declines an immediate attack on the Su Clan's residence and later condemns Lin Changqing for using his own young son in a political scheme 44 45.

Journey to the Great Xia Divine Martial Institute

Dongfang Lin arranges an invitation to the institute after learning of Lin Heng's tournament performance. Lin Heng eventually leaves Chishui when the Ancestral God Temple's sign-in rewards cease to be particularly valuable 41 42 46.

Lingxi Royal Clan experts ambush him and Hong San en route, with two Devil Race Quasi-Gods joining the attack. Lin Heng personally kills Xu Bai and both devils through a combination of soul attacks, speed, and the Blazing Sun Dragon-Slaying Sword 46 47.

At the institute, he reunites with Dongfang Yao, registers as a student, and obtains the Nine Revolutions Golden Body Art and Ruyi Divine Robe. Assigned Stone House No. 6, previously occupied by Dongfang Lin and Dongfang Yao, he gains another god-level technique through signing in there 49 50.

Relationships

• Liu Ling'er — Mother and closest emotional bond. He secretly enables her rise, defends her against the court, and vows to join her after her forced ascension 3 13 29.
