"Hey, Oolong, do you have a vehicle?" Seeing that there were three of them but only one motorcycle, Bulma asked Oolong.
"Huh? No, no."
Oolong hurriedly answered. Although he had a huge motorhome, why would he take it out?
"Oh? Is that so? Then you can run along behind me. Goku, you ride with me on the motorcycle."
One look at Oolong's expression told Bulma he definitely had one; he just didn't want to bring it out.
"Huh? No, wait, let me think." Oolong pretended he might have one.
"I remember now! I have a motorhome, haha."
Oolong gave an awkward chuckle, then took out a Hoi-Poi Capsule and produced a motorhome.
"G-go on in."
Oolong felt uneasy and afraid under Bulma's sidelong stare.
"Hmph, Goku, let's go inside." With that, Bulma took Goku's hand and led him into the motorhome.
Only after the two had gone in did Oolong cautiously follow.
"This motorhome is huge!"
Once inside, Bulma couldn't help marveling at its size. It had looked big from the outside, but only after entering could she truly appreciate just how big it was.
"Of course! I spent a lot of money having it custom-made."
Oolong rubbed his nose, unable to hide his pride.
"Oolong, you can drive, right?"
"Yep!" Oolong answered almost instantly.
"Good. Then you'll drive. I'm going to get some proper rest."
With that, Bulma took out a mirror and examined her face.
"Honestly, after being out in the wind and rain every day, my skin feels worse. I need to put on a face mask right away."
Bulma pulled a face mask from somewhere and put it on.
Oolong went to the driver's cab, then suddenly remembered he didn't even know where they were going. He turned his head and asked the two sitting on the sofa.
"Where are you going?"
Bulma was happily wearing her face mask and seemed to have no intention of answering Oolong.
Goku glanced at Bulma and shook his head helplessly before speaking to Oolong.
"To Mount Frypan. Oh, right, my name's Son Goku, and his name's Bulma. You can just call us by our names from now on."
"Huh? Mount Frypan?"
Oolong was startled to hear that famous name.
Mount Frypan was home to a terrifying Ox-King, who apparently had never been defeated. Weren't they going there to get themselves killed?
"What are you scared of? Don't you believe in me?"
Seeing how frightened Oolong was, Goku couldn't help finding it a little funny.
Hearing Goku's words, Oolong came to his senses. He recalled the monstrous fighting power Goku had shown when beating him up and felt reassured.
"Right, right! With someone as strong as you around, Goku, why be afraid of the Ox-King? If it comes down to it, beat the Ox-King to a pulp."
Now that he seemed to have attached himself to Goku, Oolong began to throw his weight around under Goku's protection.
"Hey, hey, hey, why are you so confident? It's not like you're the one who can beat the Ox-King."
"Same thing, same thing."
Oolong waved a hand as if he didn't care at all. Watching him, Goku couldn't help twitching at the corner of his mouth.
After driving for about two hours, Goku and the others reached a region of sandstone.
Bulma leaned against the window, looking at the scenery unique to the sandstone region.
"These rocks look so strange. I've only ever seen them in books before. I've never seen them with my own eyes."
At that moment, atop a tall, weathered rock with the words "Tempered a Thousand Times" carved into its surface, a catlike creature was watching the motorhome through binoculars.
"What a huge motorhome! Looks like there's a big score to be made!"
Puar quickly put away the binoculars and ran into a cave.
"Yamcha, Yamcha, there's big business!"
Inside the cave, Yamcha was eating. When he heard Puar, he hurriedly slurped up the noodles in his mouth and wiped his lips with a napkin.
"It's been ages since we've had any business, and this is a big one too, hehe."
Yamcha went outside the cave, took out his binoculars and looked in Goku's direction.
"A motorhome? A motorhome that big-the people inside must be rich."
"Puar, get the vehicle ready!"
Meanwhile, inside the motorhome.
"Nine thousand nine hundred ninety-seven."
"Nine thousand nine hundred ninety-eight."
"Nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine."
"Ten thousand!"
Goku got up after finishing his push-ups, let out a breath and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Phew, finally finished training."
"Goku, how are you so strong when you're so young? Ten thousand one-finger push-ups in two hours!"
"Training."
"Darn it, of course I know you got that way through training!"
Seeing how dismissive Goku was, Bulma gritted her teeth and forced the words out almost one by one.
Sensing that Bulma was a little upset, Goku hurriedly soothed her. "Don't be mad. How about I teach you to train after we finish finding the Dragon Balls?"
"R-really? The kind that lets you fly?"
Bulma's eyes lit up instantly.
"Really."
Looking at Bulma's eyes shining like light bulbs, Goku couldn't help shielding his own.
"That's wonderful! You said it, so you can't take it back."
"Don't worry," Goku replied, rolling his eyes.
Now that Bulma had stopped bothering him, Goku sat cross-legged, closed his eyes and began to meditate.
To become a martial arts master, training the body alone was not enough. Only by training both the mind and one's cultivation could one use every bit of strength to its fullest.
About fifteen minutes later, Goku suddenly opened his eyes in the middle of his training. He had sensed two clusters of Ki approaching him.
If he remembered correctly, if he remembered correctly, they should be Yamcha and Puar.
"Hey, motorhome up ahead, stop right there! Otherwise, don't blame me for getting rough."
Yamcha drove his motorcycle with one hand and held a megaphone in the other, shouting at the motorhome beside him.
"Huh? What? What's going on?"
Bulma, who had been resting with her eyes closed and a face mask on, was startled and nearly fell off the sofa onto the floor.
"It's nothing. I'll handle it. Oolong, stop the vehicle," Goku said, getting to his feet.
"Oh, okay!" Oolong stopped the vehicle.
Seeing the motorhome ahead come to a halt, Yamcha stopped his motorcycle as well.
A moment later, a boy stepped out of the motorhome.
"Brat, where's your adult? Tell him to come out. We're here to rob you. We only want money, not lives. Leave your money and you can go."
Seeing that he was a boy of eleven or twelve, Yamcha let down his guard.
Goku gave a faint smile at Yamcha's words and remained unmoved.
"Hey, brat, did you hear me?"
After a while, Yamcha saw that Goku was still standing there and grew impatient.
It was the first time he had seen such a pretentious kid. It was a real eye-opener.
Yamcha walked up to Goku and reached out with his right hand, intending to grab him by the collar.
Goku moved his Ki with a thought and, with a swish, brought his head level with Yamcha's. He extended his left hand, aimed at Yamcha's right cheek and landed a solid slap.
Smack!!!!!
The crisp slap rang through heaven and earth, piercing the clouds!
That huge slap struck Yamcha's slumbering soul with ruthless force.
For an instant, Yamcha seemed to see his great-grandmother beckoning to him,
An old woman he didn't recognize held a bowl of hot soup and wanted to feed it to him.
Yamcha was sent flying by the slap.
After spinning three and a half times in the air, he landed facedown and passed out.
And just like that, a world-famous painting was born, wasn't it?
Oolong and Bulma were drawn outside by the tremendous sound of the slap.
Wh-what was this? A man lay facedown on the ground, one side of his face swollen like a pig's, in such a peculiar pose.
Seeing that Yamcha had passed out, Puar immediately ran to his side and shook him, trying to wake him up.
"Yamcha, wake up! Don't leave me all alone! Boo-hoo."
A moment later, Yamcha woke up in a daze. He touched the swollen side of his face and found that he had lost all feeling in it.
"Huh? What's going on? What happened?"
Clearly, the slap had given Yamcha temporary amnesia.
"Lord Yamcha, that kid slapped you, and you passed out," Puar helpfully reminded him.
Yamcha touched the swollen side of his face again, and it all came back to him in an instant.
He rolled up his sleeves, ready to settle the score with Goku. But the moment he looked over, he saw Goku's raised palm, and Goku was smiling at him too.
Yamcha took two frightened steps back and couldn't help backing down.
"You just wait! I'm not done with you! Just you wait! I'll definitely be back!"
With that, Yamcha pulled Puar onto the motorcycle and sped away without looking back.
"Honestly, he's so young. Why does he have to be a robber?"
Watching the two flee, Bulma couldn't help expressing her regret.
"Never mind them. Let's get in and go," Goku suggested.
"Right. Let's go. The sooner we get to Mount Frypan, the better."
