Background / History
Jingliu was the Luofu's Sword Master and one of the Five Kasas of the Cloud. Her reputation became so legendary that, centuries later, ordinary Luofu citizens would more readily assume a woman resembling her was an impersonator than believe the historical Sword Master was walking among them. 28
During the conflict with the Abundance Emanator Shuhuo, Jingliu fought on the front lines beside the Luofu's elites. Her frost swordsmanship destroyed Mara-Struck abominations, but Shuhuo's regeneration and the Bloodstained Prison Realm eventually overwhelmed her. 19 21 After Bai Heng's apparent death in the war, her grief triggered a severe decline: her eyes became blood-red, she lost memories, and she blindfolded herself with black silk torn from his clothing. 24
Following the war, Jingliu was suspected of nearing Mara-Struck and taken into the Ten-Lords Commission's custody. She later killed the evil dragon in the Scalegorge Waterscape and completely fell into Mara-Struck a year afterward. 25 For seven hundred years, she wandered alone while enduring Mara-Struck's effects, retaining her attachment to Bai Heng even as other memories faded. 28
When Bai Heng returned after seven centuries, Jingliu immediately recognized him and attacked him in a violent reunion. Though her madness and superior swordsmanship left him unable to match her, her anger was rooted in the pain of his absence and the fact that he had forgotten the sword arts she taught him. 27 She resumed training him, eventually agreeing to a formal proposal and wedding after he defeats her in a public duel. 29 30
Appearance
Jingliu is a stunningly beautiful woman with a cold, moon-like presence. Her appearance is repeatedly associated with snow, frost, and moonlight. 13 27
- Long hair ranging from silver to blue-gray or gray-white. 13 17
- Crimson or dark-red eyes, often concealed beneath a black veil after becoming Mara-Struck. 13 24 28
- Snow-white complexion and a delicate, slender build. 13 17
- Wears cloud boots and carries a dark sword; she has also used a sword formed from frozen ice. 13 27
- Her body is notably cold, a condition Bai Heng associates with her Mara-Struck state. 30 105
Personality
Jingliu is stern, proud, and intensely devoted to swordsmanship. She admits—through sarcasm—that she is “arrogant, stubborn, impolite, and unreasonable,” traits Bai Heng had unknowingly repeated while speaking to her under her online identity. 17 She is blunt in conversation and favors sword-based “discipline” over gentle correction. 27 30
Beneath her distant demeanor, Jingliu is deeply sentimental. She waited seven hundred years for Bai Heng despite her failing memories and Mara-Struck condition. 28 Her affection commonly appears as silent acceptance of his closeness, concern over his injuries, possessiveness toward potential rivals, and practical gestures such as ensuring the Fire-lick Rabbits receive a comfortable hutch. 17 105 110 155
Her Mara-Struck condition amplifies her grief, obsession, and violence. In battle, she can become openly mad and relentless, using combat to vent centuries of pain. 27 108 Even so, she remains capable of vulnerability, including crying for the first time in seven hundred years when confronted with the implications of Bai Heng's past. 143

Sword Mastery and Instruction
As the former Luofu Sword Master, Jingliu possesses vastly superior technique, stamina, and combat experience. She identifies flaws in Bai Heng's form immediately and uses harsh, sustained sparring to rebuild his lost fundamentals. 27 30

- Dual-cultivated a paired black-and-white sword art with Bai Heng, taking one half of the technique while he learned the reverse sword. 14
