Background / History
Arrival in the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands
Feng Ge was a genius of the Immortal Phoenix Race who fell from the Immortal Domain onto Gou Chen Star. Gravely injured and unable to use his divine power under the unfamiliar world's Dao rules, he was pulled from the water by sailors. They treated his injuries but subsequently sold him to a Pleasure Grove, where a clan descendant purchased him as a gift for Great Saint Bei 49.
After recovering his Dragon Transformation strength, Feng Ge destroyed the Pleasure Grove. His captors' stronger allies nevertheless wounded and trapped him. Xiao Ping'an intervened, killed the attackers and the powerful Bei and Ye Clans behind them, and rescued the unconscious Phoenix. He supplied Feng Ge with four demon Supreme scriptures, sent him to the Big Dipper, and instructed him to return after becoming a Quasi-Emperor 49.
Possession by Xiao Ping'an's Demonic Seed
When Feng Ge returned as a Quasi-Emperor, Xiao Ping'an forcibly implanted a demonic seed within him. The seed had been refined from a trace of Xiao Ping'an's soul imprint; it ultimately seized Feng Ge's body and inherited his fate. The resulting Undying Heavenly Emperor retained an independent existence while sharing his source with Xiao Ping'an 58 136.
This arrangement also served as a safeguard against Xiao Ping'an's death. The Undying Heavenly Emperor explained that he and Hundun Heavenly Venerable preserved a possibility of resurrecting the main self. He could therefore describe himself as both the Undying Heavenly Emperor and the Overlord Heavenly Venerable 136.
Dao Attainment and the Divine Court
With Xiao Ping'an's preparations and protection, the Undying Heavenly Emperor challenged the suppression of the reigning Great Daos. His successful tribulation made him the second recorded cultivator, after Xiao Ping'an, to shatter the Heavenly Heart Imprint and stand above the myriad Daos 59 60 135.
He rejected Emperor Venerable's invitation to join the Heavenly Court, citing uncertainty and danger surrounding the Road to Immortality, but agreed to help open the road. At Emperor Venerable's request, he also shared his breakthrough insights with Chuan Ying. He subsequently moved the Phoenix Nest to Flying Immortal Star and established a restricted zone 60 61.
During the battle against Dark Emperor Venerable, he fought alongside Xiao Ping'an and the other Supremes. When the Immortal Ascension Cauldron attempted to flee, he intercepted and inspected it 69.
After the Heavenly Court collapsed, he founded the Divine Court. Numerous factions submitted to him, and his court reached the height of worldly prestige during the peak of his first lifetime. Ning Fei later became his foremost divine general 72 75.
Protector Across the Ages
Unlike a self-slashed Dark Supreme, the Undying Heavenly Emperor survived through successive transformations without cutting down his cultivation. His reign was remembered as a flourishing age in which no Dark Supreme dared unleash a Dark Turmoil 135.
On awakening in his fifth life, he killed a Dark Supreme who had survived the Great Accomplishment Sacred Body Yang Ye's sacrificial attack. He attempted to preserve Yang Ye's primordial spirit imprint and essence blood, but the imprint disintegrated. With the surviving blood, he formed a new body and buried it in a Saint Spirit transformation site at Undying Mountain, hoping Yang Ye could return 135.
He later helped Xiao Ping'an send Xiao Xingyao, Xiao Xuanyuan, and the little Phoenix into the Immortal Domain. To open the Heavenly Gate, he killed three Dark Supremes and used their essence blood; he and Xiao Ping'an escaped before the road collapsed 141.
Teacher and Guardian
As his strength grew, the Undying Heavenly Emperor became a destination for emperors seeking longevity teachings. He discussed transformation methods with Amitabha Great Emperor and agreed to help refine his proposed nirvana path 196.
He also rescued Longevity Heavenly Venerable after a failed sixth-life transformation, gathering his shattered body and primordial spirit and sending them into the Strange World to recover. Later, when Heavenly Emperor Xuanwu transformed into a human Divine Infant and lost his memories, the Undying Heavenly Emperor raised him as Xuanmingzi 179.
His protection extended to Xiao Ping'an's descendants. When Xiao Dong's reckless tribulation threatened the Tyrant Body Ancestral Star, he severed its connection to the planet and then thoroughly beat Xiao Dong for endangering it. He acted as an ancestor without revealing their shared connection through Xiao Ping'an 183.
Travels Beyond His Home World
After reaching the Absolute Peak of Immortality, he departed aboard Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin. Several thousand years of travel brought him to a vast world initially identified as an Immortal Domain fragment, but subsequently revealed to be a fragment of the ancient Foreign Land 238 239 240.
There he met the Blood Phoenixes Huang Jiudao and Huang Xian, who offered to acknowledge him as their master when a Gu Race expert threatened their clan. He destroyed the families descended from Anlan and Yutuo, took Mole Cricket Immortal Venerable captive, and acquired substantial stores of Immortal Gold. He also reforged the Blood Phoenixes' Phoenix Furnace and strengthened his own blade 239 240 241.
His explorations included a Burial Domain fragment, where a Burial King's scripture offered new insights despite his existing cultivation foundation. He also examined Immortal King remains and discovered the bones of an Immortal Phoenix associated with contamination by the Weird Substance 240 242.
Immortal King Ascension and Return
After more than a hundred thousand years of tempering beyond his original world, he naturally entered the Immortal King realm. He deliberately moved into the boundless void before undergoing tribulation so that its lightning would not destroy nearby world fragments. Having consumed the entire tribulation, he immediately began opening his Sixth Secret Realm 256 257.
He returned to the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands to bestow an Immortal King's blessing, sitting upon the Heavenly Heart Imprint as the world's rulers paid their respects. He praised Great Emperor Wushi's potential and urged him to become strong enough to confront the powerful enemies beyond their world 257 258.
Appearance
- Human form: An exceptionally handsome, graceful young man whose beauty is repeatedly described as surpassing that of beautiful women 49 135.
- Apparent age: Around twenty, retaining a youthful appearance across the ages 198 238 256.
- Body and blood: Jade-like, lustrous flesh, five-colored divine blood, and five-colored radiance 49 59.
- Phoenix form: A five-colored immortal Phoenix capable of changing into human form 135 238.
- Immortal King manifestation: Universes appear to be born and destroyed within his eyes, while his figure is reflected across the heavens 256.
Personality
The Undying Heavenly Emperor is proud and openly defiant of limitations. His early humiliation provokes a furious retaliation, while his Dao attainment culminates in a declaration that the title “Heavenly Venerable” should give way to “Heavenly Emperor.” He confronts tribulations aggressively rather than merely enduring them 49 59 60.
His confidence coexists with caution. He declines formal membership in Emperor Venerable's Heavenly Court because the Road to Immortality appears dangerous, later refuses public worship after his fifth-life revival, and chooses an isolated site for his Immortal King tribulation to avoid harming other worlds 60 135 256.
He is generous toward promising juniors but does not grant every advancement indiscriminately. He gives Xuan Ming and his companions Enlightenment Tea and additional leaves, yet leaves Xuan Ming to remain sealed rather than helping him break the Heavenly Heart Imprint. As Xuanmingzi's guardian, he deliberately restrains the child's extraordinary cultivation speed 178 179.

“As long as you keep living one Lifetime after another, you too will eventually reach this stage.” 178
Trivia
- Although he declares himself the first emperor after the Mythological Era, the narration identifies him as the twelfth Heavenly Venerable born at that era's end 60.
- Xiao Ping'an initially intends to oppose him because, in the original story known to the transmigrator, his rise coincides with humanity's decline. The altered emperor instead becomes a protector whose reign prevents Dark Turmoil 5 135.
- His early alias Undying Daoist should not be confused with the separate faith-born Undying Daoist described in Xiao Ping'an's knowledge of the original story 16 59.
- By his return, Xiao Ping'an and the Undying Heavenly Emperor are the only cultivators with clear historical records confirming true Immortal King attainment in their world 257.
