Background / History

Origin and the Mythological Era

Hundun Heavenly Venerable began as Xiao Ping'an’s Body of Faith. The two jointly derived a version of the Heaven Devouring Demonic Art, which she studied to acquire a Chaos Body rather than to prove her Dao. Devouring Wang Bo made her an independent individual, although her special connection to Xiao Ping'an remained 198 211.

At the end of the Mythological Era, she attained the Dao despite the presence of existing Dao-attainers and became known as the eleventh Heavenly Venerable. Later generations remembered her as the only female Heavenly Venerable and one of history’s clearly documented Chaos Bodies 187 215.

Battles against Dark Emperor Venerable

Yongsheng fought alongside Xiao Ping'an, the Undying Heavenly Emperor, and their allies to repeatedly destroy Dark Emperor Venerable’s body and primordial spirit. After the Road to Immortality collapsed, she departed with the Undying Heavenly Emperor 70.

The enemy survived through avatars. In a later encounter, Hundun Heavenly Venerable refined the surrounding world while Xiao Ping'an reversed Dark Emperor Venerable’s trap. Their side suppressed him and extracted Weird Substance, but he escaped through a spacetime rift 92 95.

She subsequently helped the uncorrupted Emperor Venerable break free of the Immortal Ascension Cauldron and be reborn as Yu Feng. Afterward, she and Xiao Ping'an projected their presences across the universe to deter the Dark Supremes. During Yu Feng’s later confrontation with Dark Emperor Venerable, she protected the world from the battle’s aftermath 97 104.

The Ancient Road and Saint Spirit Longevity Method

Hundun Heavenly Venerable helped Xiao Ping'an reconstruct the Starry Sky Ancient Road. Together they refined divine cities from the Chaos Sea, making nearly every city capable of functioning as an independent Life Source Land. Their imprints also became opponents that prodigies could challenge along the road 107 108.

The pair then arranged Ancient Emperor Xuanwu’s Saint Spirit transformation as a demonstration for the Dark Supremes. Hundun Heavenly Venerable revealed her own successful transformation and taught the method, supporting an alternative to devouring living beings during Dark Turmoils 108 109.

Stone Emperor’s Invasion

While Hundun Heavenly Venerable was secluded in preparation for another lifetime, Stone Emperor targeted the Primordial Ancient Mine. His stated marriage proposal concealed plans to seize her seven lifetimes of Dao Fruits, possess her, and use a Saint Spirit secret art to force her to bear his children during her vulnerable transformation 167 168.

The Desolate Pagoda and Bronze Immortal Palace confronted him before Taichu emerged to challenge him. Taichu ultimately defeated Stone Emperor and enslaved him; even after his death, his body, origin essence blood, and weapon were refined 168 186.

Interventions in Later Generations

Despite her usual seclusion, Hundun Heavenly Venerable brought the Chaos Green Lotus to Qinling when the Immortal Transformation Pool was about to appear. There she subdued a Yin God, rescued Taihuang, and gave him seven days of instruction without accepting him as a disciple. The lotus took root in the pool and absorbed its Dao essence 191 192.

She later introduced Xiao Nannan to cultivation, teaching her the Heaven Devouring Demonic Art despite her poor physique. The future Ruthless Great Emperor also learned that Hundun Heavenly Venerable had saved her brother, deepening her gratitude 211 222.

Other beneficiaries included Emperor Hengyu, who sought her guidance on Red Dust Immortality, and Wushi, whom she gave the Hundun Heavenly Art and her Red Dust Immortal method 232 238.

Guardian of the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands

Before leaving to seek a true breakthrough beyond the world, Xiao Ping'an entrusted its protection to Hundun Heavenly Venerable and the Undying Heavenly Emperor. When the latter eventually departed as well, she accepted responsibility for maintaining order alone 198 238.

After her tenth transformation, a gateway to the Immortal Domain appeared before her. She waited until it disappeared rather than entering, then returned to the Primordial Ancient Mine 247.

Following the Undying Heavenly Emperor’s return as an Immortal King, the two worked together to fuse a Foreign Land fragment into the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands. They contained its dangerous laws while the world gained spiritual Qi, immortal spirit Qi, and stronger Great Dao foundations. She later cultivated beside him in the crown of the newly grown World Tree 258 262.

Appearance

• Youthful form: Retains the appearance of a girl of seventeen or eighteen, with long black hair, crystal-clear skin, and a bright, flawless primordial spirit 186 198.

Personality

Hundun Heavenly Venerable values safety, freedom, and secluded cultivation. Her thinking remains closely aligned with Xiao Ping'an’s: staying home does not mean doing nothing, but choosing her own activities without outside interference. She rarely receives visitors and refuses even powerful emperors entry to the Primordial Ancient Mine 191 198.

Her treatment of intruders is ruthless. Uninvited visitors have been beaten back or killed regardless of whether they were Great Saints, Quasi-Emperors, or Dark Supremes. One reigning emperor who forced his way into the mine was reduced to ash by a single hand 100 198.

This aloofness does not prevent selective generosity. She guided Taihuang without demanding allegiance and taught Xiao Nannan despite recognizing her poor cultivation aptitude. With Xiao Ping'an, she can instead be mischievous, attempting seductive antics that he dismisses because she originated from his own Body of Faith 163 192 211.

Her ambition extends beyond immortality itself. Already capable of living indefinitely, she risked destroying herself to achieve a tenth transformation and the strongest possible Great Dao foundation 186 247.
