Background / History
Origins and the Tyrant Body Lineage
Xiao Ping'an transmigrated into the Mythological Era with knowledge of the original story and the wider trilogy. Born a First-Generation Heavenly Tyrant Body, he initially cultivated scriptures assembled by his parents, both ordinary Saint-realm cultivators without special physiques. They sealed him in Divine Source before traveling the Starry Sky Ancient Road, where a Dark Supreme killed them during a Dark Turmoil 3.
After leaving his clanspeople’s protection, he endured pursuit and repeated battles on the Starry Sky Ancient Road. His rivalry with the First-Generation Sacred Body continued into the Quasi-Emperor realm. Knowing the original Tyrant Body’s fate, he sealed himself after reaching great accomplishment rather than immediately attempting Alternative Dao Attainment 3 21.
He created the Tyrant Body Lineage’s scriptures, cultivation arts, and Tyrant Fist. Unlike the original history, he did not establish a bloodline oath of mutual extermination against Sacred Bodies. His marriage to Sacred Body twins instead helped turn the two lineages into relatives 3 10 11 166.
Emperorhood and Revenge
After achieving Alternative Dao Attainment, Xiao Ping'an killed the attacking Carefree Heavenly Venerate and seized his weapon and techniques. He then proved his Dao as Overlord Heavenly Venerable without merging with the Heavenly Heart Imprint 4 5.
To avenge his parents, he destroyed the four Dark Supremes of Beast God Mountain. He renamed Beast God Star the Tyrant Body Ancestral Star, renamed its forbidden mountain Heavenly Pillar Mountain, and relocated his clanspeople there. His wedding subsequently drew Heavenly Venerables, Dark Supremes, and representatives from across the universe 8 12.
Pursuit of Immortality and the Underworld
Xiao Ping'an made Red Dust Immortal Ascension his principal goal rather than immediately attempting to eliminate every Dark Supreme. He investigated divine medicines, longevity essence, formations, reincarnation, and immortal remains as possible routes to successive lifetimes 12 20 21.
His transition into a third lifetime nearly failed. After fighting Dark Supremes at the end of his life, he was ambushed by an injured Fallen Phoenix True Immortal. He ultimately slew twelve Dark Supremes and the wounded immortal in one day, refined the phoenix’s origin, and completed his renewal 26 27 28 29.
Emperor Venerable later entrusted him with the Underworld for at least two thousand years. Xiao Ping'an accepted both to study its longevity formations and to obtain resources for Yongsheng, his faith-born incarnation. His Heavenly Court position resembled that of an allied guest elder rather than a subordinate 33 34.
Forbidden Zones and Cultivation Inheritances
Xiao Ping'an accumulated cultivation grounds including the Undying Mountain, Mount Sumeru, the Phoenix Nest, and a share of the Primordial Ancient Mine. He also collected more than thirty Heavenly Venerable and Supreme scriptures 65 72.
He investigated Emperor Venerable’s corruption, destroyed a blood-sacrifice world beneath the Kunlun Secret Realm, and restored the cleansed realm to Earth. Later, he publicized the Saint Spirit Transformation Method after witnessing Ancient Emperor Xuanwu’s successful transformation 82 110.
After becoming a Chaos Body, he continued developing methods of renewal. He also opened a passage to the Strange World for eighteen Dark Supremes, Chuan Ying, Cult Master Tongtian, and Xiao Fuyun, while choosing to continue his own immortal path in the mortal universe 114 122 126 127.
Dharma-Ending Age and Red Dust Immortality
Xiao Ping'an arranged a collective Dao-proving attempt for family and allies, undertaking to break the Heavenly Heart Imprint’s restrictions and bear the backlash himself. He reserved carefully calculated positions for them and prevented outsiders from taking advantage of those arrangements 142 144.
During the Heaven and Earth Great Tribulation, he forged the Great Red Heaven Blade. After the catastrophe killed more than ninety percent of living beings, he adopted young beggars on Earth and taught them Qi Refining. Nearly a hundred thousand years of exploration developed the technique into an immortal scripture capable of establishing Dao laws through the cultivator’s own body 152.
By his ninth lifetime, he had become a Red Dust Immortal. Fuxi and Nüwa, now Heavenly Emperors, continued to acknowledge him as their master 163.
Immortal King and the River of Time
Before leaving the mortal universe, Xiao Ping'an forged the Kunlun Mirror and sent it to Earth to protect and teach Ye Fan after his birth. In the Strange World, he freed Emperor Venerable—now Heavenly Emperor Yu Feng—from an invading Red Dust Immortal soul, then studied the local Great Dao and became an Immortal King 200 203 204.
His later journeys took him through fragmented Immortal Domains, the Boundary Sea, and the River of Time. He captured a peak Dark Immortal King for research, fought a deliberately corrupted avatar, and investigated how cultivation systems themselves could transmit darkness 220 221 223 248.
In the River of Time, he killed the Red King with assistance from the Ash Jar and endured the resulting karmic backlash. He declined Shi Hao’s request to resolve the darkness threatening the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands, identifying himself as a traveler from another era 235.
Appearance
- Usual human form: Tall and handsome, with an outwardly ordinary appearance concealing an imposing bearing 49.
- Renewed youthful form: Appears around twenty, with long hair, jade-like skin, and abundant vitality 21.
- Tyrant Body radiance: Long black hair, purple mist-like light, and immortal divine radiance surround him after renewed Dao attainment 80.
- At the end of a lifetime: Can become thin and withered, with white hair and depleted blood Qi, while retaining formidable combat power 24.
Personality
Xiao Ping'an is primarily driven by survival, cultivation, and control over his own fate. His knowledge of the original story helps him plan, but his near-fatal third-lifetime crisis forces him to recognize that foreknowledge does not eliminate unexpected dangers 3 29.
His generosity is selective. He considers emperors who never unleashed Dark Turmoil worth helping and supports promising cultivators with scriptures, weapons, and guidance, but rejects the obligation to act as everyone’s protector. He initially prefers to leave dangerous public work to his other selves 1 71 73.
He is also ruthless and possessive. He arranges Wang Bo’s fate to benefit Yongsheng, kills witnesses to conceal the circumstances surrounding his phoenix sons, and coerces the Divine Race heavenly maiden’s marriage to Xiao Tianshu by threatening her entire race 52 90 103 198.
Despite this, he remains deeply attached to his parents and family. He hopes to resurrect his parents upon reaching a sufficiently high realm and risks heavenly backlash to help relatives and allies attain emperorhood 12 142.
Long life eventually makes him recognize the emotional detachment that can lead ancient rulers to treat living beings coldly. Although he does not excuse Dark Supremes, he deliberately returns to ordinary society to preserve his humanity 84 111.
