Lin Chuan had lived on Douluo Continent for six years by the time of his Martial Soul awakening. He retained memories of his previous life and familiarity with the original story. Initially, his ambition was simply to awaken Soul Power and secure a stable position in Spirit Hall, ideally as a deacon 1.

His recognition of Bibi Dong and discovery that Qian Xunji was a woman led him to suspect that he had entered a parallel world or another timeline. Later differences, including Tang San’s presence among the Clear Sky Sect’s young disciples, reinforced his caution about relying entirely on remembered events 3 39.

He is diligent without assuming that foreknowledge makes practical study unnecessary. He eagerly learns Martial Soul theory, recognizes the limits of his remembered knowledge, and later seeks Yue Guan’s expertise rather than attempting to use unfamiliar medicinal ingredients recklessly 6 45.

His helpfulness also serves his cultivation. Treating injuries allows him to gather Power of Faith, but he is neither passive nor indiscriminately forgiving: he intervenes against Liu Erlong’s bullies and turns Yu Xiaogang’s feigned unconsciousness into a public spectacle.
