She considers her talent average by the standards of the Qian Family’s successive popes. Rather than relying solely on her own cultivation to elevate Spirit Hall, she concentrates on governance and nurturing successors capable of reaching her father’s level 4.

Personality

Qian Xunji is affectionate and attentive toward her disciples. She prepares Lin Chuan’s daily necessities, worries during his first Soul Ring absorption despite knowing the risk is low, and allows both children to sleep on her lap during their journey. She recognizes that Bibi Dong’s jealousy stems partly from growing up without parents and fearing the loss of her teacher’s affection 3 10 11.

Her kindness does not exclude discipline. She insists on theoretical study, criticizes Bibi Dong’s arrogance, and punishes her with copying books. In public, she expects her disciples to observe etiquette and sharply rebukes Bibi Dong for interrupting a formal discussion 6 7 19 26.

Recruiting Lin Chuan

During her inspection of Blazing Soul Village, Qian Xunji personally takes over Lin Chuan’s awakening after sensing his Angel Martial Soul. Once his Twin Martial Souls and Innate Full Soul Power are confirmed, she accepts him as her second disciple 1 2.

She protects his Second Martial Soul’s secrecy while deliberately publicizing the recruitment among Spirit Hall’s upper ranks. His arrival strengthens her standing and raises the question of which disciple might eventually succeed her 3.

First Soul Ring and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan Visit

Qian Xunji leads Lin Chuan’s first Soul Ring expedition and supervises his acquisition of a Light-Weaving Butterfly ring. The party then visits the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, whose younger generation is involved in a Soul Bone wager with Spirit Hall 7 8 9 11.

At the clan, she praises Lin Chuan for helping Liu Erlong and supports his attempt to “treat” the supposedly unconscious Yu Xiaogang. She recognizes that his enormous needle differs from the blunt-tipped instrument described in Spirit Hall’s records but does not expose the trick 15 20 22 23.

She subsequently supervises Lin Chuan’s selection and absorption of the twelve-thousand-year Holy Light Sword Dragon Soul Bone, valuing its compatibility with his light attribute and its usefulness in addressing his early offensive weakness 27 28.

Preparing for the Clear Sky Sect Exchange

After receiving the Clear Sky Sect’s challenge, Qian Xunji reveals Lin Chuan’s concealed talents to Qian Daoliu and Golden Crocodile Douluo. This gains support for raising him as Holy Son and brings him two weeks of personal instruction from Qian Daoliu 28 31 33.

She also begins organizing whale-rubber acquisition and takes Bibi Dong to test growth through the Soul Devouring Spider Emperor. When Bibi Dong’s increased Soul Power is accompanied by emotional instability, Qian Xunji agrees that spiritual training must become part of her cultivation 33 37 38.

Competition and Continued Mentorship

Qian Xunji permits Lin Chuan to face Tang San, privately expresses confidence in him, and promises a reward for victory. After he wins a fifty-thousand-year Soul Bone for Spirit Hall, she prepares a medicinal bath that helps him reach level sixteen and Bibi Dong reach level twenty 41 44 45.

Nearly a year later, she waits alongside Yue Guan and Gui Mei to escort Lin Chuan on his second Soul Ring hunt after he reaches level twenty 45.
