• Zhang Yu proposed that the Land of Fire and the Land of Water trade resources to benefit their people and reduce warfare, and Mei Terumi cautioned that cooperation would be difficult after the Bloody Mist Village’s chaos.
• Zhang Yu asked the Three-Tails, Isobu, to become the Undead Tavern’s mascot, but Isobu refused.

Zhang Yu chose to create a Three-Tails clone rather than make Mei Terumi a Jinchūriki or remove the Three-Tails from Kirigakure. In return for solving the threat, Mei signed an alliance agreement with the Land of Fire, and Zhang Yu took the miniature clone with him to mind his shop.

Zhang Yu brought a mini Three-Tails back after securing Mei’s agreement to an alliance between the Land of Fire and the Land of Water. After waiting two weeks without news from Kakuzu about the Six-Tails, Zhang Yu and Tsunade arrived in Kirigakure to finalize the alliance.

• Mei thanked Zhang Yu for keeping the Three-Tails calm and agreed to consider giving him a special thank-you gift.
• Zhang Yu returned to the inn with the mini Three-Tails, who became frightened by Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, Madara Uchiha, and Uchiha Izuna before agreeing to call Zhang Yu boss.

• Tsunade and Zhang Yu reviewed and signed trade, intelligence-sharing, and other cooperation agreements with Mei Terumi, completing the alliance between the two countries.
• Zhang Yu received system rewards for completing the Five Great Nations visit and Three-Tails collection missions, leaving the Six-Tails as his remaining Land of Water target.

• Mei Terumi led Zhang Yu’s group through the forest toward Mount Katsuragi and explained the Tsuchigumo Clan’s history and Kirigakure’s search for the Six-Tails Jinchuriki.
• Madara Uchiha sensed a dozen people heading toward Mount Katsuragi, so Zhang Yu flew off alone to investigate while the others continued to the castle.
• Hotaru fled through the forest as Shiranami’s men chased her for the Tsuchigumo Clan’s forbidden technique, then they surrounded her on a grassland.
• Zhang Yu appeared behind the pursuers’ leader, learned they wanted Hotaru’s secret technique, and knocked the leader away with one punch.
• Several of the remaining ninjas threw axes at Zhang Yu from behind.

Zhang Yu defeated the Tsuchigumo Clan ninjas pursuing Hotaru and accepted her as a probationary disciple, giving her a task to complete before he would take her on officially. As Hotaru led him toward the castle, Mei Terumi learned that Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju were alive and that Hashirama was Zhang Yu’s younger brother.

• Zhang Yu used wind blades and a Water Dragon Bullet Technique to defeat the ninjas attacking Hotaru.
• Hotaru asked Zhang Yu to take her as his disciple, and he chose to accept her provisionally after warning her that training would be difficult.
• Zhang Yu assigned Hotaru a task before he would officially take her as a disciple, and she eagerly agreed.
• Hotaru invited Zhang Yu and his companions to rest at the castle and led him toward them.
