Background / History
Spirit Hall’s Fall and Entry into the Underworld
Bibi Dong ruled Spirit Hall and established the Spirit Hall Empire, whose ambition to unify the world ultimately failed. After the Shrek Seven Devils defeated Spirit Hall, Tang San killed her, and her soul descended to the Underworld on Douluo’s dark side 1 43.
White Impermanence Yue Guan escorted her through the Underworld and reassured her that Spirit Hall still had a future. Fengdu City’s maglev trains, towering buildings, and Soul Guidance Arrays astonished her. She recognized that the entire city functioned as an enormous Soul Tool and acknowledged that she had underestimated such technology 1.
Appointment as Meng Po
At Fengdu Grand Hall, Chen Yuan offered Bibi Dong the position of Meng Po. Although she did not yet understand the office and believed she had little choice, she accepted immediately. Chen Yuan formed the divine position and merged it with her, granting her a new divine identity 1.
Bibi Dong thanked him for giving her a new life. Chen Yuan formally declared that she was no longer Spirit Hall’s Pope, but Meng Po Bibi Dong. She subsequently reunited with deceased Spirit Hall acquaintances in his court and wept at seeing people she had believed lost forever 1 4.
Support for Spirit Hall’s Revival
Despite her new allegiance, Bibi Dong retained her attachment to Spirit Hall. She took pride in Yue Guan’s divine accomplishments and watched his battle against Tang San with open hostility toward her former enemy. Tang San’s eventual humiliation brought her satisfaction 8 13 15.
When Chen Yuan ordered an Underworld outpost established at Spirit City’s ruins, Bibi Dong welcomed the plan. She regarded it as an opportunity for Spirit Hall to rise again under the Underworld’s protection 24.
Public Revelation and Preparations to Return
The heavenly screen revealed Bibi Dong as Meng Po, announcing her level 156 Soul Power and seventh-place ranking. Her survival alarmed former enemies, while many commoners celebrated the return of a ruler associated with opportunities for impoverished Soul Masters 41 42 43.
Bibi Dong announced her intention to return to Douluo Continent and settle unfinished grudges, particularly those involving Yu Xiaogang. The subsequent heavenly-screen displays revealed her reincarnation duties and creation of a Netherworld Legion; the provided chapters do not confirm her arrival on Douluo Star 42 43 47 48.
Appearance
As Meng Po, Bibi Dong retains the former Pope’s sharp, imposing bearing, tempered by a new serenity after experiencing life and death 42.
- Red divine robes embroidered with the River of Forgetfulness and red spider lilies; the patterns become animated by her divine power 1.
- Long, flowing sleeves that sway in the Underworld’s wind 43.
- Reincarnation Qi and runes surrounding her when she exercises her authority 43 44.
Personality
Bibi Dong is adaptable and observant. Although Fengdu City briefly unsettles her, she quickly regains her composure and investigates its technology. Her curiosity also extends to the Underworld’s institutions, including the Eighteen Levels of Hell 1 20.
Pride in Spirit Hall survives her change of office. She celebrates her former subordinates’ achievements and becomes openly emotional when reunited with old acquaintances. That loyalty coexists with resentment toward those responsible for Spirit Hall’s destruction 4 8 13.
Her renewed confidence does not make her entirely impulsive: despite her eagerness to confront old enemies, she does not immediately rush back to Douluo Star. In her reincarnation duties, she adjusts her treatment to each soul’s condition, giving weaker souls additional nourishment and protection 43 46.
Abilities & Skills
Authority over Reincarnation
As Meng Po, Bibi Dong oversees the final stage through which judged souls pass into their next lives. This authority, rather than memory erasure alone, is the foundation of her divine office 44 45.
- Restores damaged soul origins with the Power of Samsara, including souls covered in cracks 45 46.
- Provides protection and nourishment according to the strength of each soul’s origin 46.
- Guides souls toward suitable incarnations under reincarnation’s rules, including lives as birds or fish when appropriate 46.
- Handles the transition after judgment; judging sin and assigning punishment belong to other parts of the Underworld’s system 45 47.
Meng Po Soup
Bibi Dong creates and distributes the soup that departed souls must drink before reincarnation 41 43.
- Erases memories of the previous life and releases attachments, burdens, and obsessions 43 47.
- Works with her reincarnation authority to prepare and protect souls for their next lives 45 47.
- Can cleanse wandering ghosts’ distracting memories as part of their transformation into Underworld soldiers 47.
- Does not strip the transformed soldiers of all consciousness 47.
Soul Strengthening
Soul Strengthening draws on the Power of Samsara to temper a soul’s essence directly. The heavenly screen identifies it as one of Meng Po’s most powerful abilities 47.
- Applies both to souls awaiting reincarnation and ghosts already wandering the Underworld 47.
- Repairs damaged forms, brightens weakened soul light, and strengthens the soul’s underlying essence 47.
- Can free strengthened souls from ordinary spiritual limitations 47.
- Operates on a vast scale: Bibi Dong spreads its power across the nether realm to transform countless ghosts 47.
Netherworld Legion Creation
By combining Soul Strengthening with Meng Po Soup, Bibi Dong turns wandering ghosts into an organized army loyal to the Underworld 47 48.
- Restores the ghosts’ forms and consciousness, then removes chaotic memories, fear, resentment, and obsessions 47.
- Produces soldiers requiring no ordinary food or flesh-and-blood provisions 47.
- Makes ordinary physical injuries far less effective against them 47.
- Allows recovery through Yin Qi and re-formation through the Underworld’s power 47.
- Limit: Their regeneration depends on their soul essence remaining intact; they are not unconditionally indestructible 47.

- Qian Renxue — Daughter. Their relationship was deeply estranged before Bibi Dong’s death. Seeing her mother alive as Meng Po brings Qian Renxue relief and hope that their damaged bond might still be repaired 16 45.
- Yue Guan — Former Spirit Hall subordinate and fellow Underworld deity. He guides her into Fengdu, reassures her about Spirit Hall’s future, and later admires how greatly her power has grown 1 8 47.

- Yu Xiaogang — A former romantic connection who becomes a particular focus of her resentment. Her public reappearance leaves him overwhelmed by memories and afraid of facing her renewed power 42 43 44.
- Tang San — Her killer and enemy. She welcomes his defeat by Yue Guan; he regards her reincarnation authority and ghost army as major threats to the Divine Realm 1 15 42 48.
