Background / History

Shrek Academy and the tournament finals

Xiao Wu competed for Shrek Academy while concealing her Soul Beast identity with Lovesick Heartbreak Red, an immortal herb carried in her bag. Its concealment was strong enough to prevent even Titled Douluo from recognizing her true nature. Liu Erlong, whom Xiao Wu had accepted as her godmother, treated her as her own daughter 30 33.

During the final against Spirit Hall, Xiao Wu attempted to reach the injured Tang San by escaping Hu Liena with Teleportation. Lin Chen blocked her Waist Bow attack, and although Ning Rongrong’s support enabled her to activate Invincible Golden Body, Hu Liena subsequently stunned her with Fox Charm. Lin Chen then seized her and demanded Tang San’s surrender 29 30.

Tang San continued fighting. Lin Chen used that decision to undermine Xiao Wu’s faith in him, suggesting that victory mattered more to Tang San than her safety. After Spirit Hall won, Lin Chen refused to release her and ordered Hu Liena to remove her bag. Without the herb’s concealment, Xiao Wu’s Soul Beast presence became apparent to the Titled Douluo, and Bibi Dong ordered her capture 30 32 33.

Enslavement and sacrifice

In captivity, Xiao Wu rejected Lin Chen’s demand that she become his beast pet, asking him to kill her instead. Lin Chen purchased the Beast Taming Art and forcibly implanted its seal in her beast soul while Hu Liena restrained her. The seal produced an attachment beyond Xiao Wu’s control, overcoming her remaining resistance and causing her to address him as “Master” 37.

Liu Erlong went to Spirit Hall seeking her release and offered herself in exchange for Xiao Wu’s safety. Mother and daughter later reunited in the Pope’s bedchamber, where Lin Chen declared both women his own 41 42.

During the Heavenly Ridge Mountain Range expedition, Xiao Wu asked to sacrifice her cultivation so that she could become Lin Chen’s beast pet completely. She later carried out the sacrifice, supplying his Sixth Soul Ring and a hundred-thousand-year Left Arm Soul Bone. Reduced to a small rabbit but retaining her soul, she regained human form through a Transformation Pill. Lin Chen subsequently helped replace her lost Soul Rings 48 52 53.

Slaughter City and the break with Tang San

Lin Chen selected Xiao Wu and Hu Liena to accompany him to Slaughter City because of their close-combat abilities. Unable to use Soul Skills within its territory, Xiao Wu defeated the entrance examiner Scott through agility and Eight-Stage Throw 74 75.

Seeing Tang San fight initially stirred an uncertain sense of familiarity. After recognizing his Clear Sky Hammer, Xiao Wu acknowledged their former relationship but insisted that she now loved only Lin Chen. She entered the Slaughter Arena without a mask, ignored Tang San’s calls, and won her first match 76 77 78.

Xiao Wu publicly rejected Tang San afterward, though she retained enough concern that Lin Chen questioned whether she was driving him away to protect him. Her remaining attachment disappeared during a later confrontation in which Tang San tried to seize her. Lin Chen rescued her, and his system confirmed that he had completely won her heart 78 80.

Later activities

After leaving Slaughter City, Xiao Wu and Hu Liena were assigned to remain with Tang Yuehua and protect her while Lin Chen returned toward Spirit City. Xiao Wu later accompanied Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing on his mission to locate Tang San and Tang Hao, where she recognized Ah Yin as the Blue Silver Emperor previously hunted by Spirit Hall 97 145 146.

When Lin Chen targeted the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python for Liu Erlong’s and Huo Feng’s ninth Soul Rings, Xiao Wu was distressed. He promised to preserve their souls rather than destroy them completely. Xiao Wu then persuaded Da Ming and Er Ming to sacrifice their rings and bones, promising to help them cultivate again afterward 181 185.

By the later Spirit Hall conflicts, Xiao Wu helped relay military news and remained active within Lin Chen’s household. Following Bibi Dong’s clash with Qian Renxue, she brought Bibi Dong spirit tea and reassured Liu Erlong that Lin Chen would resolve the situation 168 220.

Appearance

Personality

Before her enslavement, Xiao Wu was protective of Tang San and willing to enter a losing confrontation to help him. She also resisted Lin Chen’s demands despite captivity and threats, preferring death to becoming his beast pet 29 37.

Her later devotion develops under the influence of the forcibly implanted Beast Taming Seal. The text explicitly describes its attachment as arising from the depths of her soul and beyond her control. She becomes affectionate, obedient, and fearful of being abandoned by Lin Chen, while initially retaining memories and concern for Tang San 37 77 78.

Xiao Wu remains protective toward friends and family: she shields Ning Rongrong from a powerful python and grieves over Da Ming and Er Ming’s fate. Slaughter City nevertheless makes her substantially more ruthless, changing her from someone reluctant to kill into a fighter who can do so without hesitation 48 85 185.
