Background and History

Early Life and Rise to Pope

Bibi Dong entered Spirit Hall at eighteen and became the Pope’s personal disciple. She and Yu Xiaogang were each other’s first love. When Qian Xunji set his sights on her, she falsely claimed that her feelings had changed to protect Yu Xiaogang, who lacked the strength to confront the Pope. Yu Xiaogang subsequently left Spirit Hall and later fell in love with Liu Erlong 1 10.

The experience transformed Bibi Dong’s outlook: she increasingly pursued power and strength as sources of security. In her twenties, she gave birth to Qian Renxue and became Spirit Hall’s youngest Soul Saint. In her thirties, she became a Titled Douluo, killed Qian Xunji, assumed the papacy, and began the Rakshasa Nine Trials 1 10.

Her title did not give her uncontested control. Qian Daoliu’s influence over the Worship Hall and its powerful enshrined elders restricted her authority, forcing her to build her own following over more than a decade 15 118.

Marriage to Lin Chen

Bibi Dong agreed to marry the apparently ordinary disciple Lin Chen as part of a bargain with an unidentified woman. In exchange, she received a Rakshasa God Crystal intended to ensure her safe passage through the Seventh Trial 1 2.

She initially insisted that the marriage would be in name only. Their first confrontation became violent: she immobilized Lin Chen with Soul Power, but he used his system’s suppression ability to render her powerless and sexually assaulted her. She later chose not to attack him again, weighing her original objective, his mysterious ability, and her unsettled feelings 1 2.

Her attachment to him developed after he confronted Yu Xiaogang for threatening Spirit Hall and exploiting their past relationship. Bibi Dong severed her remaining ties with Yu Xiaogang and accepted Lin Chen’s promise to protect her. She gradually began sharing her private life with him rather than maintaining their original distance 10 11 12.

Tournament and Martial Soul Alliance

Bibi Dong asked Lin Chen to help Spirit Hall win the Soul Master Academy finals and retain the tournament’s three Soul Bones. She publicly introduced him as her husband, announced the one-on-one elimination format, and later declared that his decision concerning Dugu Yan would represent Spirit Hall’s position 11 20 26.

After the tournament, she proposed an alliance against Evil Soul Masters and threats from Soul Beasts. The assembled leaders recognized that the proposal would also bring their factions under her command. She secured leadership of the Martial Soul Alliance and offered its members places in the forthcoming Death Canyon opening 35 39 40.

Founding the Spirit Hall Empire

Following Lin Chen’s success in Star Luo, Bibi Dong sought to establish the Spirit Hall Empire immediately. Qian Daoliu instead advocated secretly securing Heaven Dou first, using strategic concerns to delay her coronation and buy time for Qian Renxue’s development 117 118.

Bibi Dong eventually agreed to support the Heaven Dou operation and send Lin Chen with Mad Lion Douluo. She later coordinated action against the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan while Spirit Hall prepared to handle the Clear Sky Sect 119 139.

At her coronation, attended by representatives of more than one hundred major factions, she formally founded the Spirit Hall Empire and became the Martial Soul Empress Regnant. She subsequently ordered the formation of four Soul Master legions and announced her intention to unite the continent within a year 154 157.

Her conflict with the Worship Hall continued through the Clear Sky campaign. Qian Daoliu was willing to sacrifice the Heaven Dou Royal Legion to weaken her forces. Bibi Dong ordered the attack on the Clear Sky Sect but remained in Spirit City to guard against threats while Lin Chen oversaw the campaign 168 170.

Sea Expedition and Divine Ascension

Bibi Dong accompanied Lin Chen at sea and fought the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King. After its defeat, she absorbed its Million-Year Soul Ring, reached Peerless Douluo, and completed her Eighth Trial. Her cultivation initially remained unstable, prompting her return to seclusion 199 205 212.

After consolidating at peak Level 99, she faced Qian Renxue’s challenge for the throne. Their battle escalated until Bibi Dong’s strongest attack overwhelmed her daughter’s defense. Alarmed, she attempted to reach Qian Renxue; Lin Chen intervened and stopped the remaining attack 214 216 218 219.

The confrontation intensified Bibi Dong’s guilt toward her daughter. She became willing to surrender the empire if Qian Renxue joined the Lin Clan and acknowledged her as the principal wife. She then prepared to undertake the Ninth Trial and successfully reached God Level 220 223 224.

Final Battle with Qian Renxue

After becoming a god, Bibi Dong grew less interested in imperial administration and delegated most affairs to Shui Ningrou, Liu Erlong, and the other women. Her priorities shifted toward further cultivation and spending time with Lin Chen 234.

Qian Renxue nevertheless returned as the Angel God and challenged her again. Bibi Dong gained the advantage by merging her two demon domains, then concealed herself in a spatial rift using Undying Body. She emerged behind Qian Renxue, struck her, and knocked away the Angel Holy Sword, ending the battle 234 236.

Afterward, opposing enshrined elders surrendered. Bibi Dong offered to spare them in recognition of their past contributions, but demanded that they insult Qian Renxue as the price of mercy 238.

Personality

Bibi Dong is proud, calculating, and intensely protective of her authority. She treats political events as parts of a continent-wide strategy, balancing force with reputation: after the tournament, she refrains from further attacking Shrek because Spirit Hall’s unification ambitions require public legitimacy as well as military strength 23 35.

Her ruthlessness extends to both enemies and subordinates. She orders Tang San’s assassination because of his talent and hostile affiliations, and later strips an elder of his cultivation for delaying news of Lin Chen’s danger 9 61.

Privately, she is affectionate but possessive. Lin Chen’s relationships with Hu Liena and Qian Renxue provoke jealousy and fear of losing her place. Although she accepts additional women, she carefully maintains her position as principal wife and manages relations within the household 20 21 46 152 226.

Her feelings toward Qian Renxue combine resentment, rivalry, and guilt. Despite their hostility, she helps move their first battle away from civilians and reacts with alarm when her daughter faces a potentially fatal attack. Eventually, preserving her marriage and resolving the family conflict become more important to her than retaining the throne 216 219 220 223.
