Background and History

Early Reputation and Leadership

Yun Ming established his reputation by driving back dozens of Titled Douluo who attacked him together. During his Titled Douluo years, he also sought to challenge the Federation’s Titled Douluo to win Ya Li. His later presence in Shrek City deterred both the Federation and the Spirit Pagoda from acting against Shrek 116 237.

The Holy Spirit Cult became a personal enemy after the Darkness Emperor, Ha Luosa, gravely wounded his teacher, who subsequently died of those injuries. Yun Ming relentlessly hunted the cult afterward, becoming a figure feared by both the Darkness Emperor and the Ghost Emperor 117 235.

As Sea God Pavilion Master, he pursued Self-Created Godhood while overseeing Shrek. Although considered the foremost expert beneath the gods, he could still be defeated at sea by Vast Sea Douluo Chen Xinjie 30 117.

Teaching Yu Longyue

Yu Qitian entrusted Yu Longyue’s training to Yun Ming because clan affairs prevented him from teaching his son personally. After Yu Longyue entered Shrek, Yun Ming assumed responsibility for his cultivation, theory lessons, and practical combat training 5 36.

His attempts to enforce diligent cultivation repeatedly collided with Yu Longyue’s unusual habits. During one lesson, he challenged the boy to survive one minute against him; Yu Longyue instead used the force of his spear strike to escape. Yun Ming abandoned the search rather than invade the girls’ dormitory with his Spiritual Power 49.

When Yu Longyue was critically injured protecting Eastsea City from a Titled Douluo’s self-destruction, Yun Ming brought Ya Li to save him. He later arranged protection by several Limit Douluo for Yu Longyue’s Star Luo journey and promised that Shrek would remain his strongest support 71 86.

Conflict with the Clear Sky Sect

Yun Ming refused to let Tang Hao take Tang San away before Tang San repaid the hundred thousand contribution points he owed Yu Longyue. When Tang Hao resorted to force, Yun Ming overwhelmed him while shielding nearby civilians 116.

Recognizing Tang Hao’s body as that of his friend Tang Chong, Yun Ming concluded that an Evil Soul Master had possessed him. He pierced the Clear Sky Hammer despite Tang Hao detonating all nine soul rings, shattered his Four-Word Battle Armor, and fatally wounded the occupied body. Tang Hao’s soul escaped without Yun Ming detecting it 116 117.

The arrival of further Clear Sky Sect Limit Douluo made Yun Ming question the sect’s sudden increase in strength. After later attacks on Yu Longyue and Tang Wulin, he convened the Sea God Pavilion elders, who approved an operation against the sect 118 119 149.

Protecting Shrek from Tang San

After learning that Tang San sustained his undying body with life force taken from Douluo Star’s inhabitants, Yun Ming sought Huo Yuhao’s help to prevent Shrek’s people from becoming victims. He and Yu Qitian supported making Tang Wulin a Child of Nature and restoring his health so that he could become a Divine Craftsman 162.

Yun Ming also supported Yu Longyue’s proposal to create a small plane on Sea God Island for the seven Devil Island seniors. Their combined presence was intended to provide a temporary defense against the Golden Tree if its influence threatened Shrek again 200.

He eventually gathered Federation and Tang Sect leaders to expose Tang San’s actions. Using a recording and further evidence, he showed that Tang San had sacrificed the Clear Sky Sect, branded the Golden Tree, and aided the Holy Spirit Cult and Abyss, securing support for a united opposition 260.

Succession and the Far North Campaign

Yun Ming designated Yu Longyue as his successor, then formally appointed him Sea God Pavilion Master. He entrusted Shrek’s affairs to his student and accepted the Federation’s request to join the Far North campaign against the Holy Spirit Cult 143 199 200.

His decision encouraged reclusive factions to join the war. He arrived with Shrek’s Soul Masters, including the Sea God Pavilion members, and revealed that he had reached the True God Level 208.

On the battlefield, his arrival restored Allied Legion morale. He first suppressed the Holy Spirit Cult’s three True Gods, then fought six opponents together: the Demon Empress, Darkness Emperor, Ghost Emperor, Blaze Emperor, Spirit Emperor, and Devil Emperor 235 237 240 241.

After entering the Blood River God-Slaying Array, Yun Ming deployed his Four-Word Battle Armor and revealed his God Position. His Sky-Piercing, Sun-Shooting strike shattered the array and blasted all six opponents into a snowy mountain 242 247.

He then killed the fleeing Darkness Emperor with a thrown spear, avenging his teacher. His determination to secure that revenge took priority over pursuing the other enemies, and he felt an unexpected emptiness once it was fulfilled 250.

Later Battles and Divine Realm

With his personal strength reaching what the Douluo Plane could accommodate, Yun Ming sought to improve the Sky-Piercing Divine Spear instead. He refused to drain the plane’s energy to raise it to Super Divine Artifact rank 261.

He later joined eight other Level 100 True Gods against the Abyssal Sage King. Their combined strength proved insufficient: the Sage King easily evaded Yun Ming’s attacks, including Sky-Piercing, Sun-Shooting, after reaching Second-Level God strength 274 275.

Following the establishment of Yu Longyue and Gu Yuena’s Divine Realm, Yun Ming advanced to the God King Realm. At Yu Longyue’s request, he agreed to help Huo Yuhao manage it 310.

Although godhood is his lifelong ambition, he rejects the Demon Empress’s offer because her methods require mass slaughter. He likewise refuses to consume the Douluo Plane’s energy merely to improve his weapon 238 261.

As a teacher, he is demanding but attentive. He pushes Yu Longyue to meditate rather than sleep, yet recognizes that the boy’s cultivation and courage are progressing well enough that constant coercion is unnecessary. He also enjoys teasing his student and later takes obvious pleasure in handing him leadership responsibilities 36 49 199 200.

His attachment to his teacher can override his usual composure. Suspected body possession provokes intense anger, and his desire to kill the Darkness Emperor leads him to prioritize revenge over pursuing the other fleeing enemies 116 117 250.
