Personality

Yu Longyue’s courteous manner comes from extensive childhood etiquette training. He maintains a gentle voice and polished smile, treats Tang Wulin’s parents respectfully, and chooses inexpensive gifts because he knows they would refuse costly ones 6 11. His humor is considerably less restrained: he teases Gu Yue, jokes about his own good looks, and enjoys provoking arrogant opponents 34 45 84.

He initially prizes comfort and freedom over cultivation. He avoids Shrek’s restrictions, escapes tedious family lessons, and openly tells Huo Yuhao that he will not risk his life against Tang San without a credible chance of victory 2 3 30. Yun Ming’s nighttime instruction leaves him sleeping through classes, earning him a reputation at Shrek 36.

His generosity is tied to a deliberate moral principle: becoming stronger must not mean ceasing to think of himself as human. He helps ordinary people without publicizing it and explicitly rejects becoming a “dragon slayer” who turns into an evil dragon 24 25. History

Transmigration and the Dragon Clan’s Contingency

Before arriving on Douluo Continent, Yu Longyue had read the original story and retained its broad outline. A Seven-Colored Divine Dragon asks whether he would oppose Tang San, then enters his body and entrusts the Dragon Clan to him. He is reborn into the era of the third story as the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s heir 1.

His God-Level Martial Soul displaces his older cousin Yu Longyang in the succession. Although raised with extensive training and resources, Yu Longyue avoids the restrictive life planned for him and spends years away from home 29 45 80.

In Aolai City, he meets Tang Wulin and unintentionally receives the Golden Dragon King Seal. He compensates Wulin through financial assistance, a suitable Soul Spirit, protection for his parents, and well-paid repair work arranged for Tang Ziran 1 6. He also allies with Huo Yuhao, another person chosen by the Seven-Colored Divine Dragon, while recognizing that Tang Hao and Ah Yin make a direct attack on Tang San dangerous 2 3.

Eastsea City and Shrek Academy

Yu Longyue moves to Eastsea City to oversee a company as part of his family’s internal trial. His business activity contributes to the city’s economic expansion, while his discreet charitable work benefits Tang Wulin’s family and local residents 9 25 59. He meets Gu Yue at a coffee shop, recognizes her as the Silver Dragon King, and begins spending afternoons with her 11 12.

During Shrek’s entrance assessments, Yu Longyue and Gu Yue overcome unusually difficult challenges. His dispute with Silver Moon Douluo culminates in a direct confrontation that reveals his advanced Dragon Transformation 23 26. He eventually studies under Yun Ming on Sea God Island and later joins the inner court 36 77 79.

He also negotiates cooperation with Leng Yaozhu over the Spirit Ascension Platform, Soul Spirits, and attracting civilian Soul Masters. Qiangu Zhangting’s hostility ends in humiliation when Yu Longyue overpowers him in a handshake contest despite Qiangu activating his Martial Soul and Two-Word Battle Armor 45.

Defense of Eastsea City

Yu Longyue fights three Soul Douluo Evil Soul Masters before facing Necromancer’s escalating attacks. Exhausted and wounded, he chooses to block an attack rather than allow it to strike the civilians behind him 65 67 69.

Local Soul Masters transfer their Soul Power to him, enabling him to resist until Wu Changkong arrives. His defense of the city earns recognition from Shrek, the Spirit Pagoda, Federation representatives, and other major powers; Gu Yue remains beside him throughout seven days of recovery 69 73 74.

Star Luo Tournament and Dragon Valley

At fifteen, Yu Longyue joins the Star Luo exchange as a Soul Saint. He defeats Long Yue, identifies the potential of his Mountain Dragon King Martial Soul, and offers clan membership as a route to resolving his cultivation problems 84 103 107. In the tournament final, he gains the advantage over Gu Yue but ultimately surrenders, making her the winner 105.

He then enters Dragon Valley, where the Dragon God identifies him as the Dragon Clan’s final contingency and returns the accumulated bloodlines of past Thunder Dragon Kings to him. The inheritance strengthens his body, Soul Bones, Martial Soul, and Soul Power quality 108 113 117. After three years in the valley, he and Gu Yue reconcile, exchange reverse-scale rings, and leave together; she reveals her true name and appearance as Gu Yuena 122.

Tang San and Tang Hao

After his return, Tang San’s forces attack Yu Longyue, and Tang Hao drives the battle into a crowded city center. Yu Longyue kills multiple Titled and Super Douluo while restricting his own retaliation to avoid further civilian deaths 127 128. Gu Yuena eventually merges with him in the Dragon God Transformation, allowing him to break Tang Hao’s hammer and seize part of his Plane Master authority 136.

Yu Longyue later becomes Shrek’s designated Sea God Pavilion Master successor, with his formal appointment planned after military training 143. When Tang San threatens Tang Wulin’s adoptive family, Yu Longyue intervenes, frees Tang Ziran and Lang Yue, and sustains the critically injured Wulin until he can receive treatment 146 148.

Military Service and the Abyss War

Yu Longyue leads the Shrek Seven Devils to Devil Island, completes its military trials in seven days, and receives a recommendation to the Blood God Legion 159. During an Abyss Tide, he covers the soldiers’ retreat and seals every connected passage with lightning 167.

His intervention costs the Abyss Plane more than half its Abyss Kings and part of its power of origin. He subsequently studies command, tactics, and harsh-environment combat for another half-year 188 191. At the Far North front, his Spiritual Power exposes an infiltrator whom he identifies as the Abyss’s Transformation Emperor 202 203.

During later negotiations with Star Luo, he rejects a political marriage to Dai Yun’er because he already has a fiancée and refuses to treat marriage as a transaction. Dai Tianling ultimately signs an agreement to cooperate with the Federation, commit troops, and invest in its technology projects 217 220. Yu Longyue later reveals his self-created God Position and uses it to sever the Abyss Creatures’ routes into Douluo Continent 244.

Godhood and the Grand Alliance

Tang San’s trial traps Yu Longyue for a hundred years, but he uses that time to reach the God King Realm. On returning, he defeats Tang San, prevents his escape and attempted destruction of Douluo Star, and kills him 294.

Yu Longyue subsequently defeats Gu Yuena and secures her agreement to join the Douluo Grand Alliance. He returns the Dragon God’s God Position to the Dragon Clan, while evidence of recovering Soul Beast populations helps persuade Di Tian to accept an alliance with humanity 310.

Yu Longyue proposes to Gu Yuena, marries her, and eventually delegates their leadership duties. Together, they create a new Divine Realm and restore the Nine Great Dragon Kings 310. Ten thousand years later, he is revered as the Golden Thunder Dragon King, having yielded the Dragon God position to his wife while remaining the Divine Realm’s strongest legend 313.

Final Conflict with the Great God Realm

In his final confrontation with Tang San, Yu Longyue counters the Asura Domain and defeats Tang San’s strongest sword strike with his own Destruction–Creation domain. Tang San disguises his soul’s escape as self-destruction, but Yu Longyue captures and destroys it, eliminating his chance of resurrection 329.

After declaring Tang San and the other ten God Kings dead, Yu Longyue offers the Great God Realm’s remaining gods the opportunity to surrender. He later spares Tang Wutong despite her threats, citing Huo Yuhao’s long service, and explains Wang Qiu’er’s temporary emotional backlash after her separation from Tang Wutong 329 330 331.
