Personality

Huo Yuhao is deeply grateful to those who help him. He treats Yu Longyue’s early assistance as a debt to repay, later returning five million Federation Coins and readily undertaking work for him. Despite his former divine status, he also treats Yu Longyue’s father respectfully as a senior 4 10 34 161.

His hatred of Tang San drives much of his second life. Initially, he can discuss timing, secrecy, and mutual risks calmly, but revenge sometimes overrides his judgment. He is willing to endanger himself to pursue it, and Yu Longyue eventually confronts him over the consequences that killing Tang San could impose on their allies 3 95 148.

He becomes increasingly critical of his earlier choices. He regrets neglecting the Spirit Pagoda before ascending, failing to understand his relationships, and cheating and deliberately killing someone to uphold Shrek’s reputation. He warns Yu Longyue not to become consumed by the academy’s ideal of “glory” 34 75.

His pride as a former God King survives rebirth, but repeated defeats teach him to recognize Yu Longyue’s overwhelming advantage. Their friendship also brings out a playful side: he enjoys watching Tang San lose and quietly interferes in Tang San’s spar with Tang Wulin 37 52 86 87.

History

Previous Life and Rebirth

Huo Yuhao grew up in hardship, remembering childhood meals of steamed corn buns. He later became a gifted Soul Master, founded the Spirit Pagoda, and ascended to the Divine Realm. His attachment to Tang Wutong dominated that period, leaving him with lasting regrets about the friends, family, and responsibilities he left behind 2 34.

Wang Dong’er’s death in Qiankun Asking Love Valley and Wang Qiu’er’s sacrifice devastated him. He later describes his divine existence as that of a God King of Emotions who had lost himself. He comes to regard Tang San’s involvement in his relationships and divine inheritance as a means of controlling him 34 92 330.

After breaking free, he fought Tang San with everything he had. Spatial-Temporal Turbulence carried both into another timeline, where Huo Yuhao returned directly as his nine-year-old self rather than possessing another child’s body. He explains that this produces two versions of both himself and Tang San in the same timeline 1 3 10.

Alliance with Yu Longyue

Huo Yuhao lands in front of Yu Longyue in Aolai City. Initially suspicious that the young sect heir might support Tang San, he tests him and considers killing him. His Eye of Destiny identifies the Seven-Colored Divine Dragon’s presence and the concentration of Douluo’s fortune within Yu Longyue, leading him to consider a partnership 1.

They agree that Huo Yuhao will exhaust the reborn Tang San’s divine power in a direct confrontation, allowing Yu Longyue to deliver the killing blow. Tang Hao and Ah Yin’s presence complicates the plan, making timing and concealment essential. Yu Longyue supplies money and educational assistance, enabling Huo Yuhao to begin again at Eastsea Academy 2 3 4 10.

At Yu Longyue’s request, he helps identify capable, morally reliable children to cultivate as future allies. He subsequently advances through Eastsea Academy and enters Shrek, taking a class-monitor position that further irritates Tang San, who initially mistakes him for a descendant of the historical Huo Yuhao 10 31.

Rebuilding His Strength and Research

After Sky Dream awakens, Huo Yuhao reaches the Spirit Domain Realm and begins planning to become the Spirit Pagoda’s master. He is disturbed by how far the organization he founded has departed from his intentions. Yu Longyue supports his ambitions while pressing him to acknowledge his own responsibility for abandoning its development 34.

With Yu Longyue’s resources, he works on artificial Soul Spirits and the Undead Plane inherited from Electrolux. He reproduces ten-year and hundred-year artificial Soul Spirits and creates a preliminary small world capable of improving Soul Spirits. Recognizing that these results threaten the Spirit Pagoda’s core interests, Yu Longyue advises him to conceal the full extent of his work and initially present improvements to existing artificial Soul Spirits 48 51.

The project also helps restore his companions. After three months of work supported by his Soul Spirits, Sky Dream, the Ice Empress, and the Snow Empress are awake, while four others remain dormant 52.

Star Luo Expedition

During the Star Luo expedition, Yu Longyue asks Huo Yuhao to track the Tang Sect’s Soul Fighting Hall in preparation for the Dragon Valley operation. His superior Spiritual Power and infiltration skills make him particularly suited to the task 93.

Huo Yuhao’s individual tournament run ends when he draws Yu Longyue. Despite their friendly wager, Yu Longyue defeats him with one spear strike in less than five seconds, before he can deploy his remaining techniques 98 99.

Their subsequent intrusion into the Tang Sect draws Hu Jie’s pursuit. Hu Jie bypasses Huo Yuhao’s Spiritual Detection and nearly kills him; Yu Longyue pushes him clear of the attack. The encounter reinforces Huo Yuhao’s recognition that modern Titled Douluo cannot be judged by the standards of his original era 100 101.

Spirit Pagoda Career and Public Identity

At eighteen, Huo Yuhao graduates from Shrek’s inner court as an eight-ring Soul Master and Three-Word Battle Armor Master. He formally joins the Spirit Pagoda and later becomes one of its four Spirit Envoys, competing with Gu Yuena for the master’s position 119 141 160.

As his identity becomes known, he assures Yu Qitian that Yu Longyue is genuinely his son rather than a body possessed by someone else. He then reveals his true face to Yun Ming and identifies himself as Spirit Ice Douluo, the historical Huo Yuhao 161 162.

Research increasingly becomes his principal contribution. He works with Federation and Tang Sect technical teams on Sea God Island, helps contain the Golden Tree situation, and designs the Battlecruiser. During the war against the Abyss, he leads the Douluo Federation in destroying most of the Abyssal Army 186 199 282.

Great God Realm Conflict

Following the Douluo Star conflict, Huo Yuhao appears in the Great God Realm, where Tang San and the other God Kings question whether he could betray them. He is later shown restrained, bloodied, and severely weakened before Tang San 298 310 311.

He escapes his restraints and reveals that he had hoped for an opportunity to strike Tang San from behind. Yu Longyue extracts him through a spatial vortex directly in front of Tang San. Huo Yuhao later worries about Yu Longyue facing eleven God Kings, but accepts his judgment and affirms his right to lead their Divine Realm 311 314.

Reunion with Dong’er and Qiu’er

After Tang San’s defeat, Tang Wutong condemns Huo Yuhao for betraying her father. He answers by accusing Tang San of manipulating her soul, engineering his teacher’s death, controlling his inheritance, and using his parents as hostages 330.

Unable to reconcile with Tang Wutong, he asks Yu Longyue whether Dong’er can return. Yu Longyue separates the portions of Tang Wutong’s soul belonging to Wang Dong’er and Wang Qiu’er, restoring them as two people and returning their accumulated memories. Huo Yuhao’s final stated wish is to take them home and make up for their lost years together 330 331 332.
