Chen Mu led the Sword Guardian Battalion in a series of battles that helped save Absolute Sword City, but the Sixth Prince tried to seize his rune weapons afterward. Back at Heaven-Questioning Pavilion, Chen Mu learned new fate and time techniques and gathered with his battalion at the Mission Hall.

• Chen Mu formed the Sword Guardian Battalion and established a fortified base on Broken Blade Mountain, equipping its squads with rune weapons.
• When the Otherworldly Demons attacked Absolute Sword City, Chen Mu led the battalion in destroying their supplies and holding the mountain against Bo Zhu and three Demon Kings.
• Chen Mu launched further raids against the demon army, then led the battalion toward the city during the final assault as Guo Tao and Kong Yu made desperate sacrifices to help them break through.
• Chen Mu's Demon Core Bombs shattered the enemy's morale, and Long Xiang killed Bo Mu before the Valiant Dragon Army drove the demons away.
• Chen Mu treated the wounded battalion, but the Sixth Prince tried to take his weapons and arrest him until Elder Ming intervened.

Chen Mu returned to Chen Village, prepared it for expansion, and later entered the Flame Blessing Tribe in disguise to search for his parents. He joined the Gu Lineage’s household and modified Gu Zi'an’s meridians ahead of the tribal competition, while Mingye and Chen Duo arrived at the Heaven-Questioning Pavilion’s inner pavilion.

• Chen Mu collected his demon-hunting rewards, defeated Ge Yu in a Divine Soul contest, and received the Nine Heavens Blazing Sun Brush from Elder Ming.
• Chen Mu developed Rune Core No. 3, visited Chen Village, built a secret teleportation array, and helped prepare the village to expand toward the Flame Blessing Tribe.
• A Huo returned to the Qi Mountain Tribe, killed Liu Ruyan, confronted Meng Hongyun, and chose to travel with his master to temper his sword heart.
• Chen Mu returned to the Heaven-Questioning Pavilion, was confined to Black Wind Cliff, and spent months studying the Dao of Talismans before saving Wei Shuang from corrupted Demon Slaves.
• After learning of the empire’s disorder and the worsening war, Chen Mu left the pavilion, returned to Chen Village, and told Chen Hongjie he would infiltrate the Flame Blessing Tribe to rescue his parents.
• Disguised as Mu Chen, Chen Mu saved Gu Zi'an and Gu Ruoyun from a demon bear and entered the Gu Residence, where the Gu Lineage ancestor offered him a guest elder position.
• Chen Mu defeated Gu Zi'an in a sparring match, identified a problem with his Seven Kills Sword Art, and agreed to modify his meridians using Demonic Patterns.

Chen Mu rescued his mother and father, then returned to Chen Village and prepared it for the Flame Blessing Tribe’s assault. After Chen Village won a costly battle, Chen Mu advanced his Runic Body research and completed the basic Five Elements Battle Formation model, while Chen Duo and Mingye remained in hiding.

• Chen Mu rescued Meng Hui from the Tuoba Lineage and reunited with her in Chen Village, then found Chen Haoran imprisoned by the Nether Clan and helped him escape.
• Chen Haoran awakened the God-Slaying Soul Seal, defeated Mo Kesha, and left to join his clan’s battle after entrusting Chen Mu with the God-Slaying Child Seal.
• Chen Mu returned to Chen Village, strengthened its defenses, absorbed the Nine Netherworlds Nether Soil, and began developing Five Elements Patterns to improve the villagers’ strength.
• Chen Mu organized ten experimental subjects as his Five Elements Guards and continued researching their cultivation and a Five Elements Battle Formation.

After Chen Village defeated the Jianglan army, Xing Le confronted Chen Mu over the heavenly rules and agreed to judge the village’s puppet talisman artifacts.

• A Huo and the Demon-Slaying Sword freed prisoners from Flying Peng City, while Chen Mu trained Chen Village's guards and left for the Heaven-Questioning Pavilion with White Turtle.
• Chen Mu reached the top of the Wentian Stairway, earned the Wentian Pavilion Master's notice, and rescued Mingye and Chen Duo from Ye Gudan and the other disciples.
• Chen Mu, Elder Ming, and White Turtle helped Mingye, Chen Duo, Zheng Fengdao, and Yin Zhan escape the Heaven-Questioning Pavilion, and Chen Mu returned to Chen Village with Zheng Fengdao and Mingye.
