• Baifeng noticed four Demon Hunters tailing him and led them to an unfinished building.
• Fried and his three subordinates surrounded Baifeng, but his ice-cone magic froze and destroyed all four.
• Baifeng spent the next day without any new tails appearing and decided to find the Demon Hunters' base himself.
• Baifeng flew to the base in the mountains, used invisibility to enter, and noticed that nobody was guarding it.

Baifeng Uesugi entered a Demon Hunter base and discovered that Pulisi had lured him there with a force prepared to capture him. Baifeng fought back with powerful area spells and drew Pulisi and the S-rank magicians out of range of his next attack.

• Baifeng Uesugi tried to leave the empty base but found himself surrounded by Demon Hunters using thermal contact lenses to detect his invisible position.
• Pulisi revealed that he had deliberately leaked the base's location to lure Baifeng Uesugi into a trap and ordered his subordinates to capture him.
• Baifeng Uesugi used Sparks Set the Plain Ablaze, killing half of the charging B-rank and A-rank magicians.
• Pulisi said he wanted to capture Baifeng Uesugi and study the spells in his brain, then ordered more magicians to attack.

Baifeng Uesugi fled Pulisi’s group but was intercepted by four S-rank magicians, including the gravity magician Toris. After discovering the limits of Toris’s magic, Baifeng killed all four as Pulisi and his companions approached, leaving him exhausted and facing their arrival.

• Baifeng Uesugi flew away from Pulisi’s group, and Pulisi called ahead to arrange for backup to stop him.

Baifeng Uesugi fought Pulisi and his four companions through the night, exploiting Athos's injuries until Athos collapsed. Pulisi then revealed a dozen surviving low-level magicians and launched a renewed attack, leaving Baifeng readying a surprise with little strength remaining.

• Baifeng Uesugi rested after killing Toris and the other men, but Pulisi arrived with four companions and ordered them to attack.
• Baifeng blocked their combined spells, then injured Athos with Ice Cone Thrust and Kamaitachi despite Pulisi's attempt to shield him.

Baifeng Uesugi used his Innate Magic to defeat Pulis and his forces, but collapsed from his injuries and was taken back to Sakura Country for treatment. At First High School, Tatsuya Shiba stopped Takeaki Kirihara after he attacked Sayaka Mibu with magic during a kendo demonstration.

• Baifeng Uesugi used Thousand-Li Ice Seal to freeze Pulis and the other attackers, then collapsed and called his emergency contact.
• Maya Yotsuba sent Yotsuba Family members in Coffee Country to Baifeng Uesugi and arranged for his return to Sakura Country.
• Maya Yotsuba met Baifeng Uesugi at the airport and had him taken for urgent treatment after medical staff reported severe injuries.
• At the kendo club, Sayaka Mibu and Takeaki Kirihara argued after Kirihara challenged her to a match.
