History

Founding Reputation and Relocation

The Su Imperial Clan’s first ancestor, Su Dingtian, fought alongside the Liu Clan’s founding ancestor and was comparable to him in cultivation. Known as the Battle Maniac, he openly challenged the Liu ancestor and had beaten Great Emperors from every other imperial clan. His strength made the Su Clan a potential rival to Liu supremacy, although he did not pursue that position 4 7 56.

Su Dingtian once saved Liu Wuyou’s life when they were young. She subsequently fell in love with him, but he showed little interest in romance. Her feelings turned to hatred after she later encountered him with his wife, providing a personal origin for her hostility toward him and his descendants 56.

One hundred thousand years before Su Chen’s transmigration, the twelve imperial clans sealed the invading Devil Race in the Realm Sea under Liu leadership. The Su Clan accepted responsibility for guarding the seal and relocated its entire clan from Two Forms Continent to the Realm Sea’s vicinity. It left its subordinate forces behind 1 36.

One Hundred Thousand Years of Guard Duty

The seal weakened under repeated Devil Race attacks. Su Great Emperors fought Devil Emperors and their projected avatars, preventing a breakout long after the rest of the realm had largely forgotten the danger. At least half of the clan’s resources went toward maintaining the Nine Heavens Devil-Suppressing Mystic Firmament Grand Array 1 27.

The Liu Clan had promised resources and permanent preservation of the Su ancestral land, but never delivered the promised allocations. The other ten imperial clans paid contributions to the Liu Clan every five thousand years and believed those resources were reaching the defenders. Requests for assistance were instead dismissed as attempts to obtain resources or escape an undesirable posting 11 26 47.

The prolonged fighting depleted both resources and population. Su Ya later estimated that the clan’s population might not equal one-tenth that of the smallest of the other eleven imperial clans 37.

The Imperial Decree and Su Chen’s Return

At the opening of the story, Su Chen was dying, Su Ting was gravely wounded, and the clan’s other Great Emperors were injured or trapped in the Realm Sea. Wang Teng arrived with an imperial decree demanding that the clan return for judgment and announced that the Wang Clan would replace it among the imperial clans 1 3.

When Su Ya refused to comply, Wang Teng used the decree’s Great Emperor pressure to overwhelm the elders and attempted to kill them. The rejuvenated Su Chen intervened, destroyed the decree, and subsequently killed Wang Teng. He then purged the Devil Qi afflicting Su Ting, restoring the clan leader to health 4 5 6 7 9.

Abandoning the Realm Sea Watch

Su Ya presented recording stones documenting rejected aid requests and widespread slander. Su Chen then uncovered a hidden instruction behind an ancestral plaque: “If there is injustice, our clan shall reign supreme!!!” The discovery overturned the descendants’ belief that their ancestor required them to guard the Realm Sea regardless of their treatment 11 12.

With Su Chen’s approval, Su Ting led the Quasi-Emperors and above to retrieve the trapped Great Emperors. He considered accepting the Devil Race’s offer of a Heavenly Dao Blood Oath in exchange for withdrawal, but the Devil Emperor of All Living Beings rejected his proposed truce after breaking the array 12 16.

Su Chen rescued the clan’s fighters and deliberately spared part of the Devil Race. After reviewing the evidence of the realm’s treatment of their clan, the returning Great Emperors supported ending their guardianship. The clan withdrew home as the devils began attacking the Black-Yellow Realm 19 21.

Rebuilding and Demanding Justice

Su Chen warned that the invitation to return to Two Forms Continent concealed a Liu Clan plot. Instead, he improved the clan’s cultivation environment, guided its members through mass breakthroughs, and fused their residence with the Eternal Imperial Palace. He declared the palace their new ancestral land 26 27 28.

While elder-led groups recorded the Devil Race’s attacks, the clan refused to resume protecting the other imperial clans. Su Ya’s group watched the Zhao Imperial Clan’s destruction without intervening, transmitting the events to clan members at the palace 36 37.

Su Ting later led the clan’s Great Emperors to confront Liu Ruyan. The Su fighters overcame opponents with higher cultivation, and Su Ting defeated the empress. He publicly presented recordings of the clan’s sacrifices and rejected requests for aid; Liu Ruyan admitted that her clan had pocketed the resources 38 43 45 46 47.

When the crowd interpreted a recording of the Devil Race’s proposed oath as evidence of collusion, Su Ting killed thousands of devils with Purple Firmament Divine Thunder. The absence of Heavenly Dao punishment demonstrated that no such blood oath bound the clan, although observers still questioned why the devils avoided attacking its members 47.

Bloodline Extermination Attempt

The Liu Clan activated the Myriad Spirits Return to Ruin Ghost Immortal Baleful Formation at the abandoned Su ancestral land in Two Forms Continent. Su elders fighting on One Origin Continent began losing cultivation, shedding blood mist, and visibly withering; even Su Yun and the other leading Great Emperors were affected 50.

Liu Ruyan claimed the formation would reach everyone carrying Su blood, including distant clanspeople and branch descendants. She revealed that the Liu Clan had prepared for one hundred thousand years to consume the Su lineage as nourishment and become an immortal clan 50.

The extermination attempt failed. A golden barrier protected the Su fighters from Liu Ruyan’s subsequent attacks, burning her spatial hair strands to ash. When she burned her origin power and collapsed the surrounding space, Su Chen appeared, effortlessly restored it, and severely injured her. His intervention revealed the protector responsible for the Devil Race’s caution toward the clan 53 54.

The other imperial clan leaders attempted to disassociate themselves from the Liu Clan and begged Su Chen for mercy. Su Ting’s own position hardened: whereas he had initially intended to punish the Liu leadership, its attempt to sacrifice the entire Su bloodline convinced him that a more thorough reckoning was necessary 54.

Reckoning in the Black-Yellow Realm

Su Ting rejected renewed demands that the Su Clan protect the other imperial clans, citing their refusal to share the burden of suppressing the Devil Race. Liu Wuyou then announced her attainment of immortality through an Immortal Pearl. Su Chen answered her challenge with one finger, gathering a terrifying concentration of the realm’s energy 58 59.

By the subsequent reckoning, the Liu Imperial Clan had been devastated to the point of near-extermination. The Zhao Clan had already fallen to the devils, while the remaining nine imperial clans had themselves been forcibly refined through the Liu Clan’s forbidden formation. Surviving members lost their Emperor Blood and were left with severely shortened lives 64.

The Su Clan also settled accounts with the Wang Clan. Its ancestor recognized that remaining behind during the Su relocation had originally spared his clan the Realm Sea’s hardships, but his people had nevertheless betrayed their former overlords. Before he could complete a plea for mercy, the Wang protective formation shattered and its clansmen were drawn into the Human Emperor Banner 64.

Expansion into the Azure Yang Realm

Su Chen received a new mission to spread the clan throughout the heavens and myriad worlds. The Eternal Imperial Palace gained the ability to establish unlimited miniature palaces connected to its main body by immortal paths. Su Ya volunteered for his branch to remain in the Black-Yellow Realm, while Su Chen emphasized that population growth was necessary for further expansion 69.

After entering the Azure Yang Realm, Su Ting identified the Heavenly Net Hall and Holy Maiden Palace as its two dominant powers. He proposed strengthening the clan before challenging them and investigating an imminent Immortal’s secret realm. Su Chen approved the plan and promised support 74.

Su Ting and four companions encountered two concealed Great Perfection Peak Emperor attackers after leaving the palace. In the later Immortal Manor Secret Realm expedition, Su Ting displayed Half-Immortal-level strength, while the other leading Great Emperors fought opponents and spread the clan’s name rather than prioritizing treasures. Their exploits established its reputation as a third overlord-level faction 74 75 88.

Mystic Bone High Person later intervened against Su Ting, and the Heavenly Net Hall’s master openly threatened the Su Clan. Su Ting escaped and promised to settle the score after further cultivation. Su Great Emperors subsequently challenged experts outside the Heavenly Net Hall, building the clan’s reputation without immediately forcing entry or inflicting casualties 97 101.

Secret Realms and the Heavenly Net Hall War

After more than five years without another Emperor Realm breakthrough in the palace, Su Chen addressed the limited innate advantages of ordinary clansmen. He created two secret realms that could develop their experience and talent, including a Dao Physique Secret Realm capable of granting special physiques 104 105.

Following the Holy Maiden Palace’s destruction, Lian Ruyue sought the Su Clan’s protection and offered service in exchange for revenge against the Heavenly Net Hall. Su Hong initially refused her request to meet the secluded clan leader, but Su Chen intervened and granted her an audience. She subsequently came under his protection 118 130.

The Heavenly Net Hall brought its army to the clan’s gates, only to discover that the Su forces surpassed it in ordinary Emperor Realm experts and Great Perfection Peak Emperors. Su Yan confronted the invaders, and Su Ting rejected their offer to withdraw in exchange for Lian Ruyue. Additional Pseudo-Immortal reinforcements then emerged 127 130.

Lian Ruyue slaughtered the invading army while the Heavenly Net Hall master faced Heavenly Dao restrictions on using immortal power against mortals. His later attempt to overcome the clan’s immortal formation failed to secure victory. When he tried to withdraw, Su Chen appeared and forced the army and its master to their knees with one hand 135 140 142.

After the Heavenly Net Hall’s fall, Su Ting ordered Su Yan to circulate recordings of the battle while withholding the portion showing Su Chen’s intervention. The images established the clan’s overwhelming strength throughout the Azure Yang Realm. Although former Heavenly Net Hall vassals feared further attacks, observers noted that Su cultivators had generally sought challenges rather than conquest and had avoided killing defeated opponents 149 151.

Preserving Branches and Receiving Survivors

When the Black-Yellow Realm’s Heavenly Dao urged relocation to the Azure Yang Realm because of the danger of descending immortals, Su Chen threatened to remove the Su branch entirely. The Heavenly Dao immediately agreed to let it remain, and Su Chen confirmed to Su Ya that the branch would not move 157.

At Lian Ruyue’s request, Su Chen also allowed the Holy Maiden Palace’s scattered survivors to live and cultivate within the clan. Lianxi and Elder Yuehua settled more than thirty survivors on a designated spiritual peak. They were required to follow Su Clan rules, although Lian Ruyue told them they remained free to stay or leave 157 158.

Establishment in the Immortal Realm

After reaching the Immortal Realm, Su Chen established the Eternal Imperial Palace on a plain near the reception hall at Ten Thousand Mirrors Mountain, within territory ruled by Five Dragons Mountain. The system issued a mission to make the Su Clan the foremost lineage in the Primordial Rock Peak Empire, offering five thousand years of lifespan as its reward 172.

Su Ting and the others had only recently become immortals and remained at most Loose Immortals. Su Chen ordered them back to cultivation and permitted Lian Ruyue and Lianxi to use the two secret realms as well 172.

The clan subsequently combined cultivation with coordinated travel. Advance groups placed formation coordinates, returned to the palace, and were replaced by other travelers, allowing exploration to continue without permanently removing the same members from cultivation 201.

Su Ting and Su Shuang’er later departed through the star formation for the Myriad Daos Unsealing Empire. Other members applied to establish Su branches in Mortal Realms, retaining the ability to return to the Immortal Realm through the palace network. By this point, more than eighty percent of Su Chen’s current lifespan had come from increases in clan members’ cultivation 220.

Abilities & Skills

Battle-Hardened Cultivators

The clan’s prolonged fighting against the Devil Race produces combat strength exceeding its members’ nominal cultivation 14 45.

  • Before Su Chen’s enhancements, its leading defenders could each suppress multiple Devil Emperors 14.
  • After their physique upgrades, Su Yun, Su Hao, Su Yi, and Su Shuang’er hold off eight Great Perfection Emperor Realm opponents despite remaining at Minor Perfection 44 46.
  • Other Su Great Emperors also fight above their realms, including a Fourth Heaven cultivator who withstands a Seventh Heaven opponent 45.
  • Repeated life-and-death battles give survivors practical experience that the sheltered imperial-clan experts lack 45.
  • In the Azure Yang Realm, special physiques compensate for the leading Great Emperors’ comparatively short accumulation at Great Perfection, allowing them to challenge established experts 88.
  • Su Ting’s Half-Immortal-level strength allows him to compete with the realm’s two established overlord leaders; his earlier defeat of Mo Ketian remains a major source of the latter’s hostility 88 109 125 130.

Cultivation Under Su Chen

Su Chen removes the resource and environmental restrictions that had held back the clan’s imperial-blooded cultivators 2 26 27.

  • His formation supplies higher-grade Heaven and Earth energy than the clan previously possessed 27.
  • His words and movements carry profound mysteries, allowing members to gain enlightenment even when he intends only to encourage them 28.
  • His system rewards each additional Su Great Emperor with ten years of lifespan, directly linking his survival to the clan’s growth 2.
  • The system prohibits direct cultivation empowerment; he instead improves resources, physiques, and access to enlightenment 2 26 27.
  • An updated side quest grants one hundred years of lifespan for each clan member who reaches Loose Immortal, while retaining the ten-year reward for Emperor Realm breakthroughs 65.
  • The two secret realms provide a continuing means of developing both talent and experience rather than relying solely on cultivation resources 105 171.
  • By the later expansion period, cultivation increases among clan members account for more than eighty percent of Su Chen’s current lifespan, making distributed clan development central to his long-term survival 220.

Specialized Combat Abilities

  • Purple Firmament Divine Thunder: Su Ting’s innate thunder power is particularly effective against devils. After Su Chen’s enhancement, he can summon vast quantities of divine thunder by thought rather than relying on lengthy hand seals and preparation 27.
  • Cloak Heavy Hammer Technique: Su Hao’s eighteen-strike technique compounds the force of successive blows, producing exceptional final-strike destructive power. Its weakness is the time required to build momentum, leaving it vulnerable to interruption 75.
  • Heavenly Flame Physique: Su Yan can absorb and wield multiple heavenly flames rather than being limited to a single special flame. At his confrontation with the Heavenly Net Hall, he possesses at least five kinds 127.
  • Immortal-formation protection: The clan can shelter behind a formation that an immortal Heavenly Net Hall master cannot decisively overcome. With sufficient energy, it can sustain itself continuously 140 142.

Inter-Realm Deployment

  • Miniature Eternal Imperial Palaces provide branch bases linked to the main palace by immortal paths 69.
  • Lower-realm members can ascend directly to the upper-realm palace after reaching the Immortal Realm 69.
  • Traveling groups establish coordinates and rotate personnel through subsidiary formations, balancing exploration with cultivation 201.
  • The star formation permits rapid journeys to established coordinates, including those in the Myriad Daos Unsealing Empire. Coordinates can be refreshed before they disappear 220.
  • Members establishing Mortal Realm branches retain access to the Immortal Realm through the palace network, allowing expansion without permanently separating them from the clan’s main cultivation base 220.

Territory, Formations & Assets

Eternal Imperial Palace

  • Current ancestral land: Fused with the Realm Sea residence after the mass breakthroughs; it can be moved by Su Chen 28.
  • Expanded grounds: The fusion enlarges the residence by hundreds or even a thousand times and transforms its buildings and defensive formation 28.
  • Facilities: Includes the Alchemy Pavilion, Scripture Repository, Immortal Spirit Cave Abodes, Martial Training Grounds, Tingxiao Imperial Palace, Supreme Immortal Hall, and Illusion-Breaking Immortal Terrace 28.
  • Imperial Palace Seals: Permit clan members to enter and leave safely. Newborn descendants carrying Su blood automatically develop a seal 28.
  • Defenses: The exterior formation is stated to be capable of reducing even a True Immortal to ashes if they attempt forced entry without a seal 28.
  • Branch palaces: Can split off an unlimited number of miniature palaces to serve as bases. Each is connected to the main palace by an immortal path 69.
  • Demonstrated siege resistance: The immortal Heavenly Net Hall master barely breaks one corner of the clan’s formation and cannot overcome its continuing protection 142.
  • Immortal Realm placement: Su Chen places the palace on a plain near the reception hall at Ten Thousand Mirrors Mountain in the Primordial Rock Peak Empire 172.
  • Internal scale: Lian Ruyue considers that its true size may exceed the entire Azure Yang Realm, although this is her assessment rather than a measured dimension 172.

Two Great Secret Realms

Su Chen creates the two secret realms after determining that most clan members lack special physiques and would otherwise struggle against the Immortal Realm’s geniuses. Their creation incorporates laws, Immortal Qi, chaos, and primordial power 104 105.

  • Experience development: One realm allows cultivators to experience repeated cycles of reincarnation, improving worldly knowledge, practical experience, and their ability to handle affairs 105.
  • Dao Physique Secret Realm: Raises cultivators’ talent ceiling and provides access to special physiques, making such advantages available beyond the clan’s original handful of gifted members 104 105.
  • Long-term objective: Together, the realms are intended to give every clan member the potential to become an immortal; this is a developmental goal, not a statement that all members have already attained immortality 105.
  • Continued use: Su Ting and the leading cultivators regularly alternate between the realms and cultivation areas. Lian Ruyue and Lianxi are also permitted to enter them 172 201.

Other Holdings and Resources

  • Former ancestral land: Located at the point of greatest natural-energy concentration in central Two Forms Continent. Left unoccupied for one hundred thousand years, it becomes the site of the Liu Clan’s forbidden formation 50.
  • Clan-protecting formation: Originally combines offense and defense; Su Chen adds Spiritual Qi gathering before the palace fusion 26.
  • Nine Heavens Devil-Suppressing Mystic Firmament Grand Array: The Realm Sea seal maintained through spirit stones and Su Great Emperor intervention. It is ultimately shattered by the Devil Emperor of All Living Beings and his forces 14 46.
  • Image-recording stones: Used to document denied aid, preserve evidence of battlefield sacrifices, and transmit the Devil Race’s attacks to viewers at the palace 11 37 47.
  • Black-Yellow Realm branch: Led by Su Ya after the main group departs. Its palace remains in place despite an immortal’s attempt to seize it and the Heavenly Dao’s subsequent concerns about further immortal incursions 69 154 157.
  • Holy Maiden Palace survivors’ residence: A spiritual peak within the Su Clan’s grounds is allocated to more than thirty survivors, who receive permission to live and cultivate there 158.
  • Travel formations and coordinates: Subsidiary formations and the star formation support rotating expeditions and rapid return journeys between the palace and established destinations 201 220.

External Relationships

  • Liu Imperial Clan — Former leader and principal rival. Withholds promised supplies, seeks the Su Clan’s condemnation, and ultimately activates a formation intended to consume its bloodline 26 47 50. Su Chen’s intervention defeats the extermination attempt, and the Liu Clan is subsequently reduced to near-destruction 53 54 64.
  • Wang Clan — Former subordinate clan left behind during the relocation. Aligns with the Liu Clan and is promised the Su Clan’s imperial status; its leader Wang Teng is killed by Su Chen 3 7 36 50. During the final reckoning, its protective formation is destroyed and its members are drawn into the Human Emperor Banner 64.
  • Devil Race — Long-standing enemy held in check by Su defenders. After Su Chen’s intervention, its leaders fear his backing and avoid provoking Su representatives; no Heavenly Dao Blood Oath binds the two sides 1 36 47. Su Ting publicly kills thousands of devils to demonstrate that no oath prevents the clan from attacking them 47.
  • Zhao Imperial Clan — Refuses support and permits slander against the Su Clan. Its survivors blame the Su Clan for declining to save them and pledge themselves to Liu Ruyan in pursuit of revenge 11 37 41.
  • Other imperial clans — Decline the Su Clan’s aid requests while assuming the Liu Clan delivers their pooled resources. Their experts later confront the Su Great Emperors alongside Liu Ruyan 11 44 47. Their leaders subsequently seek Su Chen’s mercy; the nine clans other than the already-destroyed Zhao Clan are themselves devastated by Liu bloodline refinement 54 64.
  • Heavenly Net Hall — Principal Azure Yang Realm enemy. Its leaders threaten the Su Clan, resent Su Ting’s defeat of Mo Ketian, and eventually march on the Eternal Imperial Palace. The attack ends in the Hall’s fall and establishes the Su Clan’s supremacy in the realm 97 101 125 127 142 149 151.
  • Holy Maiden Palace — Initially one of the two Azure Yang Realm powers the Su Clan intends to surpass. After its destruction by the Heavenly Net Hall, Lian Ruyue and Lianxi receive protection, and more than thirty survivors are permitted to settle under Su Clan rules 74 118 130 158.
  • Black-Yellow Realm Heavenly Dao — Values the continued presence of the Su branch. Although initially concerned that descending immortals will endanger the realm, it agrees to let the branch remain when Su Chen threatens to relocate it 157.
  • Heavenly Derivation Sect — An established Immortal Realm sect of mortal-realm ascenders encountered during the clan’s arrival in the Primordial Rock Peak Empire. Yan Yuxing supplies information about the empire; the sect master later observes the palace and wonders whether its barrier conceals power beyond the Immortal King realm 171 172 220.
  • Five Dragons Mountain — Territorial power governing the area containing Ten Thousand Mirrors Mountain, where Su Chen establishes the palace’s Immortal Realm base 172.

Clan Culture

The clan places exceptional importance on ancestral instructions, martial strength, and solidarity. Its commitment to the founding ancestor’s perceived wishes keeps successive generations fighting in the Realm Sea despite casualties and isolation. Discovering the hidden plaque allows its members to reject that inherited obligation without believing they have betrayed their ancestor 11 12.

Its leaders are fiercely protective of their own. Su Ting sustains his grievous injuries partly because he protects a clansman below the Quasi-Emperor Realm. After the withdrawal, that loyalty becomes an explicit priority: the clan will no longer sacrifice its families for people who dismiss their deaths as an obligation 12 26.

The clan’s forceful temperament predates its isolation. Its founding ancestor’s reputation as a battle maniac is echoed by elders who propose beating Wang Teng before killing him, and by Su Ting’s insistence that Su descendants must be able to prevail in both physical fights and verbal disputes 6 9.

Population growth becomes an explicit strategic concern after the decision to expand across worlds. Su Chen urges members to have more children and promises sufficient cultivation resources, regarding the clan’s small population as a limitation on how widely it can establish branches 69.

Martial competitiveness continues in the Azure Yang Realm, where Su Great Emperors travel to challenge local experts. Their conduct is generally distinguished from indiscriminate conquest: observers note that they usually avoid killing defeated opponents and do not involve themselves in local disputes unless provoked 101 151.

The clan also develops a carefully managed public image. Su Ting authorizes the circulation of recordings that demonstrate its victories while keeping Su Chen’s personal intervention hidden, allowing the clan’s visible forces to establish its standing without exposing the full strength of its ancestor 149.

Despite remaining a bloodline-centered organization, it permits protected outsiders to live and cultivate within its grounds. The Holy Maiden Palace survivors are required to obey Su Clan rules but are explicitly allowed to stay or leave, showing that residence under its protection does not necessarily require Su ancestry 158.
