In the Spatial Turbulence, the moment Tristan's divine sense detected Redding, delight appeared on his face, followed by an incomparably deep hatred.
With hundreds of thousands of years of resentment bottled up in his heart, Tristan wanted nothing more than to tear Redding limb from limb.
On the other side, although Redding had prepared for this, he still feigned panic when he detected Tristan's divine sense.
"Tristan, what are you doing here?"
Hearing Redding's Soul Transmission, Tristan grinned wildly, a hint of madness in his smile. "Redding, you didn't see this coming, did you? I became the Water Element Sovereign, while you're just a Lower Sovereign of the Water Element."
Tristan took a deep breath, his voice cold and sharp, yet tinged with satisfaction. "The tables really have turned. After hundreds of thousands of years, I finally have a chance to take revenge. I'll dig out your Sovereign Spark with my own hands."
Hearing Tristan's Soul Transmission, Redding pretended to be utterly flustered. "Tristan, I was wrong to destroy one of your Divine Clones back then. I'm willing to offer a continent as compensation."
Under Redding's governance, the two continents far surpassed the other continents of the Water Divine Plane in both population and prosperity.
Knowing that Tristan would never agree, Redding had offered a continent only to mislead him and make him lower his guard.
Sure enough, Tristan sneered at Redding's words. "What a joke! Once I kill you, your continents will be mine anyway!"
Redding fell silent. Damn it, that made a lot of sense.
In the Spatial Turbulence, Nemo, who was creating a Divine Plane, also noticed Tristan with her divine sense.
Although she knew her big brother's plan, Nemo was still worried. As she controlled the Sovereign's Might and the fire elements, they kept bursting apart, sending shockwaves through the other two Fire Element Sovereigns beside her.
Activating the Water Sovereign Power around him, Redding said nothing and flew at "full speed" in the direction opposite Tristan.
To keep up the act, Redding flew with all his might, but the Might of the Will he released exerted pressure only equal to that of an ordinary Lower Sovereign. His flying speed was even thirty percent slower than that of a Lower Sovereign who specialized in speed.
The point was to make one thing clear: Water Sovereigns were not good at speed.
Seeing how slowly Redding was flying, Tristan's smile grew wider. "Redding, stop struggling. Today, this Spatial Turbulence will be your burial ground!"
As he spoke, Tristan pushed himself to the limit, and his pursuit visibly grew faster.
In the Spatial Turbulence, the other two Lower Sovereigns who had come to help protect their friend naturally noticed the conflict between Redding and Tristan as well, but neither made a move.
The Mid-level Sovereign, however, quietly followed Redding when he flew away from Tristan.
Water Element divine power enveloped Redding. Noticing the figure trailing behind him, the corners of his lips rose. "I didn't expect another prize."
Oliver was feeling somewhat anxious. He didn't know whether he had gone mad. The moment Redding fled, he had somehow followed him as if compelled by an unseen force.
Oliver looked up at Redding's figure, gritted his teeth, and continued the pursuit.
Oliver was a Mid-level Sovereign of the Fate Element. His original body was not that of a Divine Beast. As an ordinary human, he had neither a powerful Innate Divine Ability nor a divine body as tough as a Sovereign Artifact.
Back then, Oliver had obtained a Fate Element Sovereign Spark purely through good luck.
In terms of strength, Oliver ranked at the very bottom among Mid-level Sovereigns and could only bully the weakest Lower Sovereigns.
Some Lower Sovereigns who were Divine Beasts with powerful bloodlines were not much weaker than Oliver, thanks to their Innate Divine Abilities and the toughness of their bodies.
That was precisely why Oliver had chosen to go after Redding.
Besides his Fate Sovereign Divine Clone, Oliver also had a Water Element Divine Clone.
Judging by the Might of the Will Redding had displayed, Oliver concluded that Redding was merely an ordinary Lower Sovereign and was not fast in flight either.
There were only a few Water Sovereigns, and even though they had all sought the backing of Sovereign-level powerhouses, the last time the Wind Element Divine Plane was created, that unlucky fellow had been hunted down. Now the Sovereigns had learned to be wary and generally did not travel alone.
The difficulty of obtaining a Water Element Sovereign Spark had increased greatly for Oliver. Now one was right in front of him, and Redding had displayed such feeble strength. How could he not be tempted?
Each harboring his own plans, Redding, Oliver, and Tristan flew one after another deeper into the Spatial Turbulence, getting farther and farther from the Fire Element Divine Plane.
After flying for a month and crossing an unknown number of Material Planes, Redding found a figure blocking his path.
"I finally caught up!" His robes fluttering in the energy of the Spatial Turbulence, Oliver's lips curled upward. "It'll take Tristan at least another day to get here. This Sovereign Spark is destined to be mine!"
Oliver's shoulders trembled slightly with excitement. As he saw it, taking down a Lower Sovereign like Redding in two days would be a sure thing.
By the time Tristan arrived, he would already have killed Redding and refined his Water Element Sovereign Spark.
Oliver had made his plans well, but he failed to notice that Redding's expression as he looked at him was also exceedingly strange. This Tristan really is useless. As a High-level Sovereign, he's not much faster than Oliver, a Mid-level Sovereign.
To catch them both in one fell swoop, Redding had kept his speed under control. He had expected Tristan to catch up with him at about the same time as Oliver, but instead there was a whole day between them.
In that case, there was no point in saying more. He could only fight Oliver first.
With that thought, Redding turned his hand over, and a deep-blue flexible sword appeared in it. Gripping the hilt, he pointed it straight at Oliver. "Out of my way!"
Golden light flashed, and a pair of small crimson-gold melon hammers appeared in Oliver's hands. Their handles were two fingers thick, and each was topped with a melon-shaped hammerhead the size of a fist.
Holding the melon hammers, Oliver smiled at Redding. "Redding, you're too weak. Be a good boy and hand over your Sovereign Spark."
Weak?
Oliver's words made the corner of Redding's mouth twitch. If I weren't hunting Tristan, I could whip you around like a spinning top with my Water Sovereign Clone alone.
One Sovereign Divine Clone added one portion of Might of the Will. With two portions combined, Redding was already no weaker than a Mid-level Sovereign. Then there was his divine body, tempered over hundreds of thousands of years and as tough as a Sovereign Artifact, and his Innate Divine Ability, Dragon Roar...
In terms of combat power, Redding's Water Sovereign Clone could even rival a top-tier Mid-level Sovereign.
Redding truly did not take Oliver, who ranked at the bottom among Mid-level Sovereigns, seriously.
Clang!
Hammerhead met blade. Without revealing his two combined portions of Might of the Will, Redding fell into a disadvantage on the very first exchange.
The gap between a Mid-level Sovereign and a Lower Sovereign sent Redding flying more than a hundred meters backward under Oliver's hammer blow.
Barely steadying himself, Redding looked at Oliver with a livid face and an expression of resentment.
Sensing the gap between himself and Redding, Oliver instantly relaxed. That Water Element Sovereign Spark is as good as mine!
