Hiashi’s explanation left Konoha suspicious of Kirigakure, as Haruma intended to draw Konoha into sending infiltrators. At the Five Kage Summit, Hashirama, Madara, and the other reanimated Hokage attacked, while Obito appeared and Naruto joined the battle.
Haruma’s disguised real body revealed overwhelming power by destroying Ōnoki’s Dust Release and nearly killing the Five Kage, while Naruto struggled against Minato and nearly lost control of the Nine-Tails chakra. The chapter ended with Tsunade suspecting that the Obito in the sky was the true power behind Akatsuki as Shikaku watched the Kirigakure ninjas and Minato’s attacks.
Disguised as Obito, Haruma devastated the allied forces and announced that the Akatsuki would attack the five nations in six months. Afterward, he reassured the reanimated Konoha shinobi that he would spare Naruto and Konoha, while Hashirama asked him to let Madara regain control of his body.
Haruma rejected Hashirama’s request to control Madara and revealed that he intended to profit from the Allied Shinobi Forces’ war preparations and supplies. At the next meeting, the Five Kage agreed to bring smaller nations into the alliance, leaving the supreme commander position as the key unresolved issue.
Tsunade challenged Kirigakure’s bid to command the Allied Forces because so many of its shinobi had infiltrated the Akatsuki, and the Kage instead assigned command jointly to Ōnoki and A. Mei Terumi accepted the arrangement but pressed for Kirigakure to handle logistics, leaving Tsunade unable to object without seeming to exclude Kirigakure from the alliance.
Mei Terumi secured Kirigakure’s position in the Allied Shinobi Forces, and the village’s business boom helped Haruma advance to the divine path over the next six months. Konan returned with enough money for a resurrection, only to find Haruma had become an awe-inspiring figure beyond the Six Paths.
Haruma prepared to resurrect Nagato and Minato Namikaze after Konan and Obito requested their loved ones be brought back. Meanwhile, Hashirama and Madara faced the Allied Shinobi Forces, whose headquarters called for reinforcements after thousands of soldiers began falling within minutes.
Madara overwhelmed the Allied Shinobi Forces, broke free of Gaara’s sand seal with his Perfect Susanoo, and prepared to kill Gaara and the surrounding army. Hashirama’s intervention failed to stop his charge, but an unknown voice froze time just as Madara reached Gaara.
Haruma stopped time on the battlefield, seized Madara, and brought him to the company in Kirigakure, where he threatened to humiliate him until Madara panicked. At the same time, the Allied Shinobi Forces learned that Madara had vanished, while Naruto prepared to leave his training refuge and join the war.
The Allied Shinobi Forces struggled against Hashirama and other reanimated enemies, while Gaara concealed that the war was designed to exhaust their supplies. At Kirigakure Company's basement, Haruma oversaw Orochimaru's experiment on Kimimaro and declared that the war's ending would not change.
Haruma orchestrated a year-long war to exhaust the Allied Shinobi Forces’ resources, then announced a temporary ceasefire when they ran out of money. He released Kimimaro from his illness and, at the abrupt end of the story, welcomed Otsutsuki Kaguya into his alternate space.
