Arc 9The Land of Iron Summit

Haruma manipulated the Akatsuki and the village delegations while Jiraiya died and Konan’s investigation uncovered Haruma’s control over Nagato and Yahiko. As the Five Kage Summit approached, Hiashi returned badly injured with a report that raised doubts about his account and the possibility of a wider betrayal.

  • As the Five Kage Summit was set to begin, Hiashi returned alone and badly injured, claiming that reanimated First Hokage, Madara Uchiha, and Jiraiya had attacked him and Konan in the Land of Waves.
Chapters 201–225 Vol. 3 Read

Ch. 201Bombarding from Dusk Till Night!

Haruma kept Obito and Konoha's forces fighting while Edo Madara escaped the sealing attempt and battled Kakashi and Jiraiya. Tsunade's forces trapped Obito in a prolonged bombardment, while Haruma secretly formed a seal.

  • Edo Madara broke free of the Sealing Squad's mire with a sweeping fire attack, forcing Kakashi and Jiraiya to face him.
  • Haruma told Shisui not to help because Obito still had uses, while Obito kept fighting Konoha's forces and swallowed his anger at the manipulation.
  • Obito lured the Anbu close and used Wood Release to impale several of them, but Tsunade destroyed the trees and pressed her attack.
  • Tsunade distracted Obito as Konoha showered him with explosive-tagged kunai, and he sheltered inside a wooden sphere before trying to escape underground.
  • Konoha's Byakugan and sensory ninjas tracked Obito underground, forcing him back aboveground into another stalemate as Haruma secretly formed a seal.

Ch. 202Audience, actors, director!

Madara overwhelmed Jiraiya’s group and summoned a meteor, forcing Konoha’s fighters to halt their battle with Obito and work together to protect the village. Obito realized that someone else was manipulating Madara and framing him, but he had no way to prove his innocence.

  • Madara’s sudden surge in strength disrupted Tsunade’s plans, so Haruma sent Shisui to help Jiraiya and stall Madara.
  • Shisui joined Jiraiya and Kakashi against Madara while Haruma watched and threw kunai from the sidelines.
  • White spores attacked an Anbu, but Tsunade repeatedly stopped Obito from escaping as the fighting continued.
  • Madara leaped into the sky and used Tengai Shinsei to summon a meteor toward Konoha.
  • Tsunade ordered the fighters to combine their ninjutsu to intercept the meteor, while Obito realized that someone was controlling Madara and making him take the blame.

Ch. 203An alliance was forged!

Obito retreated as Konoha and Kirigakure's forces destroyed the falling meteor, while Haruma and Kakashi helped avert the disaster. The next morning, Tsunade and Konan agreed to cooperate against Obito, though his true strength and motives remained uncertain.

  • Obito withdrew into the Kamui Dimension as Tsunade and the others focused on the meteor.
  • Tsunade, Might Guy, Jiraiya, Fukasaku, Shima, and Shisui attacked the meteor, breaking it into fragments that Konoha's Anbu further destroyed.
  • Kakashi used his left eye to warp away a large fragment, while Haruma watched the meteor shower.
  • At the Hokage Building, Jiraiya recounted the battle to Konan, who doubted that Obito had truly been driven away and revealed that he had killed Nagato.
  • Tsunade proposed that Konan share intelligence on Obito and the Akatsuki in exchange for Konoha's help, and Konan accepted.

Ch. 204The Organization's Ultimate Goal?

Tsunade learned that the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki had been captured, while Haruma disguised himself as Pain and assembled the Akatsuki with Kabuto as a new member. Sasori tested the disguised leader by asking him to state the organization's ultimate goal.

  • Fukasaku charged Jiraiya for Konan's lodging before an Anbu reported that Itachi had captured the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki and Raikage A had requested a Five Kage Summit.
  • Tsunade questioned the reliability of Jiraiya's intelligence and ordered Shikaku to monitor the two advisers; Jiraiya asked Konan about Shisui and Haruma.
  • Fukasaku recognized Haruma's portrait and vanished in smoke, while Konan noticed something unusual about the ring on her finger.
  • Haruma disguised himself as Pain, brought Kabuto to an underground shrine, and summoned the Akatsuki members for a meeting.
  • Haruma introduced Kabuto as a replacement on Kakuzu's team, but Sasori suspected a deception and challenged him to repeat the organization's ultimate goal.

Ch. 205The Akatsuki meeting! Peace in the Shinobi World!

Haruma impersonated Pain to direct the Akatsuki’s operations and secretly alter the organization’s rings, while keeping Konan restrained. After the meeting, he resumed his Obito appearance and plotted with Black and White Zetsu as Konan ended her projection.

  • Haruma convinced the Akatsuki that he was Pain by answering that their goal was peace in the Shinobi World.
  • Haruma ordered Kabuto and Kakuzu to gather powerful shinobi corpses and bounty-station money, and sent Kisame and Itachi to take the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki to Kirigakure and capture the Three-Tails.
  • Haruma sent Sasori and Deidara to the Land of Iron to destroy whatever they wished.
  • Haruma used his Rinnegan to add an identity-verification connection to the members’ rings, preventing Konan from easily contacting the others.
  • After the other members’ projections departed, Haruma resumed Obito’s appearance and plotted with Black and White Zetsu while Konan ended her projection.

Ch. 206Protection, surveillance, departure!

Konan revealed that Obito had taken Nagato’s eyes and seized control of the Akatsuki, while Tsunade’s attempt to keep Haruma and Shisui under surveillance drove them to leave Konoha. Shisui used Susanoo to force the Hokage’s guards aside, and Tsunade let the visitors depart.

  • Konan woke furious and told Jiraiya and Tsunade that Obito had taken Nagato’s eyes and was controlling the Akatsuki with Nagato’s corpse.
  • Tsunade sent Kakashi and Shikaku to inspect the barrier around Haruma and Shisui’s room while Jiraiya stayed to question Konan.
  • Haruma dismissed the barrier, then confronted Tsunade after she broke down the door and claimed Konoha’s surveillance was protection.
  • Haruma announced that he and Shisui would return to Kirigakure, but two Anbu blocked their way.
  • Haruma ordered Shisui to act, and Shisui summoned a Susanoo skeleton before Haruma stopped its attack and asked Tsunade to let them leave.
  • Tsunade ordered the Anbu to stand aside and watched Haruma and Shisui depart, calling them madmen.

  • Sasuke demanded to know why Itachi had not told him the truth sooner, and Mikoto explained the clan’s circumstances while Fugaku remained silent.

Ch. 208Trouble at the family dinner!

Tsunade led a powerful Konoha team toward the Land of Iron to confront the Akatsuki and protect Naruto. Meanwhile, Haruma reunited Itachi and Sasuke at the Uchiha family dinner, where his explanation for Mikoto’s enthusiasm only made Fugaku more suspicious.

  • Tsunade ordered a team of over thirty, including Naruto and Konoha’s strongest fighters, to depart for the Land of Iron.
  • Jiraiya recalled the dangers facing Naruto and explained why the team had decided to bring him rather than leave him in Konoha or send him to Mount Myōboku.

  • Jiraiya recognized Haruma Uchiha and connected him to the Summoning World’s changes, Orochimaru’s presence, and the events involving Madara and Akatsuki.

Ch. 210The final chapter: the fierce tiger must return to the mountains!

Haruma fought Jiraiya in a cavern and overwhelmed him with his abilities. Jiraiya died after recalling his life and entrusting the future to Naruto.

  • Jiraiya attacked Haruma with Needle Jizo and Wild Lion's Mane Technique, but Haruma repelled his strikes.
  • Jiraiya used a sage-enhanced Rasengan and Frog Strike: Barrage, while Haruma absorbed the Rasengan and froze Jiraiya's attacks with Ice Release.

  • Haruma told Jiraiya he had once admired him, then pierced Jiraiya's heart with a bone projectile as Jiraiya tried to form hand seals.
  • Jiraiya died thinking of The Tale of Naruto Uzumaki and leaving the rest to Naruto.

Ch. 211All Eyes Converged! The Five Nations Mobilized!

Haruma left Jiraiya’s corpse with Orochimaru, who believed his lord could bring the dead back to life. After Fukasaku confirmed Jiraiya’s death, Konoha mourned and the four great ninja villages mobilized for a summit in the Land of Iron, where Itachi realized Haruma had arranged the gathering to control the Raikage and conceal the real enemy.

  • Haruma told Orochimaru to preserve Jiraiya’s corpse, and Orochimaru suspected Jiraiya might truly return to life.
  • Naruto sensed something was wrong, and Fukasaku confirmed that Jiraiya had died, leaving Naruto and Tsunade grief-stricken.
  • Konoha sent urgent intelligence about the Akatsuki to the four great ninja villages, whose Kage set out for a summit in the Land of Iron.
  • Mei Terumi traveled with Haruma, Shisui, Itachi, and Kisame, while Killer B was carried with the party.
  • Itachi realized Haruma had brought Killer B to the summit to defuse the Raikage’s anger and strengthen the claim that Itachi and Kisame were undercover agents.

Ch. 212Doom of the Samurai!

Haruma refused to explain how Killer B survived having the Eight-Tails extracted, keeping the system and his role in saving B secret. Meanwhile, Deidara and Sasori attacked the Land of Iron, and Sasori reached the daimyo’s residence as the daimyo refused to flee.

  • Shisui asked Haruma how Killer B survived the extraction of the Eight-Tails, and Haruma told him to keep moving and not ask.
  • Deidara and Sasori entered the Land of Iron and were met by samurai, then split up to pursue their separate goals.

Ch. 213Two Kage Strike Together, Deidara's Ruthlessness!

Tsunade and Raikage A ambushed Deidara, hoping to capture him and learn the Akatsuki’s secrets and Killer B’s whereabouts. After A’s lightning rendered Deidara’s explosive clay useless, Deidara unveiled a new attack as the battle continued.

  • Sasori realized the samurai had learned of the mission and used his puppets to attack them.
  • Tsunade and Raikage A arrived at the Land of Iron and agreed to capture Deidara alive for information.
  • Tsunade launched A into the sky, where his lightning-charged Guillotine Drop struck Deidara’s clay bird.
  • Deidara detonated the bird’s wing, losing his left arm while A survived behind his Lightning Release Armor.
  • A disabled Deidara’s expanding C4 clay with Lightning Release, and Deidara exposed a mouth in his chest and announced his ultimate art.

Ch. 214Intelligence Revealed, Defeat Foreordained!

The Raikage knocked Deidara unconscious before he could self-destruct, while Tsunade hurried to Kakashi’s team. At the daimyo’s residence, Kakashi and the others fought Sasori, who used the Third Kazekage Puppet and his remaining puppets to hold them off, until Tsunade launched a kick at his main body.

  • Deidara began charging up to self-destruct, but the Raikage struck him unconscious and stayed behind to guard him.

  • An Anbu announced that the Kirigakure party had entered the Land of Iron with Itachi openly wearing a Kirigakure Forehead Protector.

Ch. 216Troublesome creatures!

Raikage A attacked Uchiha Itachi, but Haruma intercepted him and injured him, forcing the leaders to discuss Kirigakure’s spies. Killer B woke up and accidentally punched A, who subdued him after the meeting was disrupted again.

  • Raikage A charged at Itachi and struck Haruma when he stepped in to block the attack.
  • Haruma pierced A’s Lightning Release Armor with bone spikes and asked to talk, while Tsunade and Mei Terumi argued over Kirigakure’s spies and Itachi’s allegiance.
  • Killer B woke up, punched through another repaired wall, and sent someone flying.
  • A found Killer B in the rubble, pinned him beneath his foot, and scolded him before Killer B tried to appease him.

Ch. 217Black and white reversed!

Killer B woke in the rubble and confronted Itachi and Kisame before joining a meeting where Itachi explained how the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki and Yagura had survived extraction. Haruma then revealed that he had suggested keeping Killer B asleep until the group could explain what happened, while Tsunade remained uneasy about Itachi’s account.

  • Killer B recognized Itachi and Kisame, charged at them, and then shielded Tsunade while calling her a young girl, prompting Tsunade to kick him and Raikage A to keep him in line.
  • At the meeting, Itachi explained that Obito had appeared during the assault on Pain, moved the unconscious Jinchuriki, and escaped while the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki and Yagura survived their Tailed Beasts’ extraction.
  • Haruma noticed chakra leaking from a Konoha Anbu whenever Itachi mentioned Pain, while Tsunade questioned why the Jinchuriki had survived losing their Tailed Beasts.
  • Killer B mourned the Eight-Tails and vowed revenge on Obito, then Tsunade asked why he had only awakened that day.
  • Haruma said he had suggested giving Killer B sleeping pills during the journey so the group could explain everything at the meeting without provoking a misunderstanding.

Ch. 218The truth in the mist!

Tsunade and her allies questioned the truth of Itachi’s account and suspected that two different people might have been called Obito. To investigate the mystery surrounding Nagato’s death, Tsunade assigned Konan to infiltrate Kirigakure alongside Hyuga Hiashi, while Konan kept some important intelligence to herself.

  • After the meeting, Tsunade asked whether Itachi’s intelligence could be trusted, and Konan said his Akatsuki information was accurate.
  • Shikaku pointed out a series of coincidences involving Haruma, Obito, and the stolen Impure World Reincarnation technique, and proposed that two different Obitos might exist.
  • Tsunade connected Shikaku’s theory to Fukasaku’s unexplained disappearance and asked Konan to infiltrate Kirigakure.
  • Tsunade arranged for Hyuga Hiashi to accompany Konan so he could investigate and verify her reports.
  • Konan accepted the mission but privately remembered that she had not revealed seeing Orochimaru and the four reanimated Hokage in Kirigakure.

Ch. 219Life was a play, and everyone was showing off their acting!

Haruma considered how to exploit Konoha’s silence about Konan’s intelligence while Kisame continued feeding information to Obito. After learning that Konoha had captured Deidara and Sasori and that its delegation had met Kirigakure’s in the Land of Iron, Obito decided to infiltrate Kirigakure as Naruto asked Killer B to teach him how to become a perfect jinchuriki.

  • Haruma told Mei Terumi and the others that Konan’s reasons for withholding intelligence were unknown and that her schemes did not matter.
  • Haruma confirmed that Obito still trusted Kisame, while Itachi silently pitied the person Haruma seemed to be setting up as a scapegoat.
  • Obito reasoned that Itachi had returned to Kirigakure for his clan and tried to recruit Kisame, unaware that Kisame had long served Obito.
  • Black Zetsu gave Obito a coded scroll from Kisame, which reported that Konoha had captured Deidara and Sasori and that the Konoha and Kirigakure delegations had met in the Land of Iron.
  • Obito decided that Kirigakure’s main force being away made it the best time to infiltrate the village.
  • Naruto asked Killer B to teach him how to live peacefully with the Tailed Beast inside him, and Killer B agreed after Naruto used the Reverse Harem Technique.

Ch. 220A meeting in another spacetime!

Konan and Hiashi entered the mysterious top floor of the Great Rich Man Company and found themselves in another spacetime, where they encountered Nagato and Yahiko’s coffins. Obito and Black and White Zetsu also entered the space, where Hiashi attacked them and Konan confronted Obito.

  • Yagura watched Konan, Hiashi, Obito, and Black and White Zetsu enter Kirigakure, while Kakashi continued surveilling Haruma and his companions in the Land of Iron.
  • Mei Terumi questioned Haruma about the company, and he revealed that the Haruma with them might not be the original because he had never left the company.
  • Konan and Hiashi entered the company’s seemingly empty top floor and stepped through a red door into an endless lake beneath a blue sky.
  • Two coffins rose from the lake, and Konan recognized Nagato and Yahiko inside.
  • Obito and Black and White Zetsu arrived in the strange spacetime, where an explosion struck them and Hiashi fought Black and White Zetsu.
  • Konan confronted Obito while Nagato and the Rinnegan appeared behind her, and an unseen observer watched from above the clouds.

Ch. 221The girl in the coffin!

Haruma found Rin's coffin inside Obito's Kamui Dimension while Obito and Konan fought over Nagato's Rinnegan. Though they realized someone had framed Obito and was manipulating their battle, Konan refused to let him take Nagato's eyes, and Obito charged her again.

  • Obito tried to explain himself to Konan, but a disguised attacker used Shinra Tensei on her and let Obito pull him into the Kamui Dimension.
  • Obito avoided Konan's paper explosives and fought her with Wood Release and fire as Black and White Zetsu and Hiashi watched from a distance.
  • Haruma used Mayfly's sensing ability to find a flower-covered coffin in the Kamui Dimension and lifted Rin from it.
  • Obito and Konan both suffered severe injuries, then recognized that someone had framed Obito and was watching their battle.
  • Konan refused to let Obito take Nagato's Rinnegan, and Obito charged her again, insisting they needed its power to escape.

Ch. 222Haruma appeared!

Konan nearly killed Obito with a vast sea of explosive tags, but the reanimated Nagato intervened and drained her chakra. Haruma then revealed himself, took control of the reanimated Nagato and Yahiko, and left Obito fleeing into the Kamui Dimension.

  • Konan split the lake and trapped Obito in an abyss lined with explosive tags, intending to detonate them and destroy Nagato's eyes.
  • Nagato awakened as an Impure World Reincarnation and used Banshō Ten'in to save Obito, then drained Konan's remaining chakra and stopped her attack.
  • Konan realized Nagato could hear her but could not break free of the control, while Obito understood that Nagato's Rinnegan could no longer serve his plan.
  • Hiashi and Black Zetsu attacked Nagato and rescued Obito and Konan as Nagato regenerated.
  • Haruma appeared on a bone throne, revealed his control over Nagato and Yahiko, and asked Obito and Konan what they would do now that their goals had failed.
  • Obito fled into the Kamui Dimension while Konan, too weak to fight, watched Haruma with despair.

Ch. 223Shocking Turns, One After Another!

Haruma used Rin’s reanimated body to restrain Obito, but Black Zetsu betrayed and seemingly killed Obito before Obito survived with Izanagi. As Black Zetsu tried to take control of him, a hidden attacker stabbed Black Zetsu with the Totsuka Blade.

  • Haruma told Konan his proposal, and half an hour later Obito emerged from the Kamui Dimension and attacked him over Rin’s missing corpse.
  • Nagato protected Haruma from Obito’s Wood Release, and Haruma revealed Rin as a reanimated guard to stop Obito from attacking.
  • Black Zetsu stabbed Obito through the chest and crushed his heart, but Obito used Izanagi to survive at the cost of his left Sharingan.
  • Black Zetsu tried to seize control of Obito and taunted him about being Madara’s pawn, weakening his resistance.
  • An unseen attacker stabbed Black Zetsu with the Totsuka Blade, prompting him to recognize the weapon in terror.

Ch. 224Two more tools!

In Kirigakure, Itachi and Shisui speculated that Haruma planned to spare Obito and Konan because their abilities could benefit his company. Haruma then offered them contracts to earn back their resurrection fees, leaving Konan worried about the immense cost of bringing back everyone she cared about.

  • Itachi told Shisui that Haruma would likely spare Obito for his Kamui Dimension and Konan for her paper-making abilities, while Shisui argued that Haruma had borrowed the Totsuka Blade to kill someone.
  • Haruma met with Obito, Konan, and White Zetsu at the Great Rich Man Company, where White Zetsu had already signed a contract in exchange for a normal human body.
  • Obito and Konan objected to the ten-billion resurrection fee and contract restrictions against plundering, controlling people with Genjutsu, and coercing daimyo to print money.
  • Haruma told Obito he could earn a share of Rich Man Bridge tolls by helping connect it to the Five Great Nations.
  • Haruma offered Konan a share of Explosive Tag sales, and Konan realized that the resurrection fees for Nagato, Yahiko, Jiraiya, and other Akatsuki members could become an impossible burden.

Ch. 225Heartless capital, Hiashi's acting masterclass!

Haruma offered Konan and Obito a chance to buy resurrection slots, spurring them to earn money in Kirigakure. Four days later, Hiashi returned to the Land of Iron injured and reported that reanimated First Hokage, Madara Uchiha, and Jiraiya had attacked him and Konan in the Land of Waves, leaving Konoha’s leaders questioning how he escaped.

  • Haruma showed Konan and Obito six pairs of Rinnegan and announced that resurrection slots cost ten billion, prompting both to hurry off to earn money.
  • Konan began making explosive tags in Haruma’s office while Obito and White Zetsu worked at Kirigakure’s docks; Obito also took stone from a mountain, leaving locals astonished to find it gone.
  • Four days later, the delegations from the five strongest ninja villages assembled in the Land of Iron, and the Five Kage Summit was set for the following morning.
  • Hiashi returned alone and collapsed, revealing severe injuries as Tsunade examined him in the meeting room.
  • Hiashi told Tsunade, Shikaku, and Kakashi that reanimated First Hokage, Madara Uchiha, and Jiraiya had attacked him and Konan in the Land of Waves.
  • Shikaku asked how Hiashi had escaped the three attackers and returned, raising doubts about his account and the possibility of a wider betrayal.
