Although that was what Su Zhou had in mind, his character trial card had already expired.
He had also gained a brand-new skill, one he never would have thought of even if he racked his brains.
Judging by the pattern of the trial cards he had used before, the skills he gained had some connection to the character cards.
Whether it was [Basic Blade Technique] from Ding Xiu or [Stunt Master] from Chan Ka-Kui,
it was either an ability the character on the trial card possessed or something related to the actor who played them.
So, before using Third Brother's trial card, Su Zhou had thought he would most likely get a body-hardening skill.
Something like [Golden Bell Shield] or [Iron Cloth Shirt], but this rather dubious system of his
had given him a notification that left him speechless.
[Number of character trial cards used has reached four. New skill acquired.] [Master of Disguise: Life is a play, and a play is life!]
Su Zhou: (´-ι_-`)
The system's explanation of the skill was as abstract as ever. It might as well have said nothing.
Su Zhou could only slowly experiment with it himself. He really had no idea what its actual effects were.
What made Su Zhou feel most cheated was that he should have received a defensive skill.
But because Third Brother's character trial card was the last one he used, that defensive skill had turned into [Master of Disguise].
If only he had used Ding Xiu's trial card last. Missing out on [Basic Blade Technique] wouldn't have been such a loss!
But it had already happened. What else could he do?
Forgive himself, of course!
His system was clearly an unlicensed, uncertified, unregulated product, the kind made in some tiny workshop.
Not only did it lack detailed personal stats, even its descriptions of rewards and skills were evasive.
But little workshops generally went heavy on the ingredients, and there was plenty of good stuff in his prize pool.
Whether he could draw any of it would come down to luck!
Su Zhou took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down.
He had used up all his character trial cards. If he faced those two hulking brutes head-on,
he would most likely get one-shotted by them. His current physical abilities actually weren't inferior to Captain America's.
But the other guy at least had a shield that absorbed kinetic energy. What did he have?
Su Zhou instantly ruled out joining the battle between the two monsters in close combat.
Then the skill [Telepathy] caught Su Zhou's eye.
Su Zhou: (✧◡✧)
So now it's my turn to play mind games!
But his [Telepathy] was a watered-down version, with a maximum range of only about 300 meters.
Hulk and Abomination were now locked in a fierce battle. Fortunately, they weren't very far from him.
If he pushed himself, he could still give it a try!
Su Zhou pressed his right index and middle fingers together and placed them against his temple.
Imitating Professor X's pose, he began trying to enter Abomination's mind.
Then... he entered Hulk's mind!
Su Zhou: (.ŏ_ŏ)
Banner: (⊙o⊙)
"Hello, Dr. Banner. My name is Su Zhou. I'm an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Su Zhou introduced himself to Bruce Banner with easy familiarity. An official identity was more useful at a time like this.
A green light flashed in Dr. Banner's eyes, and he excitedly grabbed Su Zhou's shoulders.
"Thank God! Did God send you to save me?!"
"God? No. Although I'd love to meet the old fellow, he really didn't send me."
Su Zhou carefully freed himself from Dr. Banner's hands, then began chatting with him.
While watching the movies in his previous life, he had wondered about something. Eventually, Dr. Banner had stayed in a gamma laboratory
and absorbed an enormous amount of gamma radiation, becoming Doc Green.
Then where had the Hulk personality, created by his earlier transformations into Hulk, gone?
"Su Zhou, right? Hulk must be controlling my body right now. Only one mind can be present in my body at a time.
"It's like driving a car. Hulk and I both have our hands on the steering wheel,
"but only one of us can control the brakes and the gas!"
Dr. Banner looked at Su Zhou excitedly, even though they were actually inside his mind.
This was the first time he had regained consciousness while Hulk controlled his body.
Before, he had always needed to wait until Hulk was done playing and voluntarily returned the body to Banner.
"So, Su, since you can awaken my consciousness, can you let me regain control of my body?"
Su Zhou hesitated, then turned Dr. Banner down with some embarrassment.
"Maybe I'll be able to do it in the future, but I can't help you right now.
"Because you're the only one who can beat that big guy outside..."
"So you're the Batman who was fighting Abomination?!"
Dr. Banner gripped Su Zhou's shoulders again and said excitedly,
"Have you been injected with the Super Soldier Serum too? Does that mean S.H.I.E.L.D. has the serum formula?
"An ordinary person couldn't fight that monster head-on, much less chop off the bone spikes on its back bare-handed.
"Actually, if you hadn't been unable to beat that monster, I wouldn't have chosen to turn into Hulk..."
"All right, all right, stop. Please don't get worked up."
Su Zhou found that the Dr. Banner before him was a little different from what he had imagined.
He was as talkative as that motormouth Tony. Maybe this was a common problem among scientists in the Marvel Universe?!
"S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't have a complete Super Soldier Serum. As for my abilities, they're innate superpowers.
"After all, Captain America can't enter your mental space like I can.
"In a moment, I'll go into that monster's mind and beat him up. You can also try to fight for control of your body.
"If this all ends perfectly, I hope you'll leave the United States and all its trouble behind.
"That way, S.H.I.E.L.D. won't end up clashing with your girlfriend's father. General Ross isn't an easy man to talk to!"
Having said what he needed to say, Su Zhou freed himself from Dr. Banner's hands for the second time.
After smiling at Banner, he turned into a streak of light and disappeared.
Only a bewildered Dr. Banner remained, at a complete loss!
Another flash of white light passed, and this time Su Zhou entered Abomination's mind.
Looking at the man whose mind was clouded by pain, Su Zhou broke into a very happy smile!
"Emil Blonsky?"
"Aaaargh!! Who are you?! Where am I?!"
Blonsky regained a little clarity at the sound of Su Zhou's voice, but he was still in agony!
Su Zhou stretched, then rolled up his sleeves.
"It doesn't matter who I am, but let me make this perfectly clear: I'm here to beat you up!
"If I don't beat your face into a bloody bouquet today, you'll never learn why flowers are so red!"
