There was even another van carrying not just the accompanying medical team, but also the household staff. It was quite an entourage.

Inside the first van.

Uncle Xu and Auntie Zhong each held a tablet, watching the show intently.

Uncle Xu shook his head. "Why is this cabin so small? How are they supposed to sleep tonight?"

A young housekeeper beside him nodded. "Exactly. What about meals?"

Auntie Zhong frowned. "I'll take a look in a bit. If it won't do, we'll send food from home."

She was deeply worried. Looking at the courtyard on-screen, she saw only a long table and chairs. Whatever else they might need, there was none of it.

Finally, she could no longer hold back and burst out in irritation. "Honestly, that eldest young master of yours! How could he let our second young master and Yiming come here? Couldn't he have checked things out beforehand?"

Hearing this, the two housekeepers in the middle quietly shrank back toward the rear seats.

Uncle Xu instinctively opened his mouth to object, then sheepishly closed it again.

"The eldest young master really was... inconsiderate this time."

Doctor Lin, sitting in the very back, smiled and raised his voice. "Getting out and about is good for Mr. Wen's physical and mental health. Neither of you should get so worked up."

Auntie Zhong could only take a deep breath and continue watching calmly.

Inside the other, more spacious van.

What had originally been the seating area had been converted into a small lounge.

Several documents lay on a white-patterned tabletop with gold edging.

The suspended square in-car screen was showing the livestream of Little Ones Are Supermen.

Another tablet stood beside it, its screen showing just one figure.

-Wen Cishu.

Bo Tingyuan sat with his long legs crossed, his hands resting in front of him with his fingers interlaced.

Behind his lenses, his green eyes quietly watched the man whose face wore a gentle smile.

Albert noticed Bo Tingyuan's expression.

For that brief moment, he seemed to read a trace of something indescribable in Mr. Bo's gaze as he looked at Mr. Wen... reverence.

But as he appeared, Bo Tingyuan's eyes shifted slightly.

Albert could not help questioning himself.

Had he imagined it just now?

He handed over several documents. "Mr. Bo, the production team has amended some clauses and added an agreement for extra compensation."

Bo Tingyuan took them and leafed through them. Finding no problems, he handed them back and said in English, [Give these to Mr. Wen when the show is over.]

For the first time, Albert put his hands behind his back. [I would guess Mr. Wen would be happier receiving these from you than from me?]

Bo Tingyuan lifted his eyes slightly and stared at Albert.

Every line of that sculpted face was exceptionally sharp, and his obscure expression was equally difficult to read.

An oppressive pressure instantly gathered in the air.

Fortunately, after working for him for years, Albert had an extraordinary tolerance for pressure. His gaze did not waver in the slightest as he stood firmly by his opinion.

In the end, Bo Tingyuan lowered his sharply defined eyelids and returned his gaze to the man smiling and chatting on-screen. When he saw him gently brush his fingertips over the white jade bamboo-joint bracelet, he said quietly, "Is that so?"

Rather than seeking confirmation from Albert, he seemed to be asking Wen Cishu himself through the camera.

Chapter 7

After a brief discussion, the four parents decided to take their luggage into the cabins first.

Since the production team had not set any special rules and the cabins were identical, everyone quickly made their choices.

Wen Cishu and Bo Yiming's large suitcases were simply too eye-catching.

Xiao Qi could not help staring at them with wide eyes.

The child seemed especially curious about everything, as though he wanted to see right through the suitcases.

Zhou Xu teased, "Yiming's dad, did you bring half your home with you?"

Bo Yiming stepped ahead of his little dad and took the initiative to push a suitcase, explaining earnestly, "My little dad hardly ever goes out, so we had to bring a quilt and pillows, or he wouldn't be comfortable sleeping. If he can't sleep, he'll feel unwell."

Wen Cishu felt a little embarrassed, but nodded in agreement with his son. "That's right. Yiming didn't bring much. Most of it is mine."

Only then did everyone understand, and they all began talking at once about how lucky it was that the production team had not made things difficult for the guests when it came to sleeping.

[Mingzai means he has trouble sleeping in an unfamiliar bed, right? I have a hard time falling asleep when I change beds too.]

[You can tell the gorgeous dad doesn't go out much. The skin showing outside his shirt is so fair, soft, and smooth.]

[? Hey, hey! Where are you looking?!]

Zhu Wei was the oldest of the parents.

She called out, "Let's get unpacked quickly, then meet in the courtyard right away to work out lunch and everything. All right?"

Everyone agreed and went into their respective cabins.

The sloped-roof cabins had interiors laid out like hotel suites, with a large mattress on the carpet that could accommodate two adults.

There were floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, one facing the courtyard and the other overlooking the lush greenery outside.

Bo Yiming bounded inside to explore curiously, calling out from time to time.

"Little Dad, there's a bathroom here!"

"Wow, the bathtub is so small. It's so cute. Little Dad, come and look."

Wen Cishu walked over and leaned against the bathroom doorframe to look inside.

The bathroom was small overall, and the white bathtub was a cube-shaped sit-in model that required bent knees, like an oversized ceramic building block.

Wen Cishu agreed with his son. "Mm, it is very cute."

He ruffled the little one's hair. "Do you want to take a bath in the cute bathtub tonight?"

"Yes!" Bo Yiming smiled happily.

Later, he would have to figure out how to bathe in such a small tub. It was bound to be fun.

[What's so cute? What are you talking about?]

[A guess: judging by the gorgeous dad's bearing and clothes, I get the feeling Mingzai's family must be really rich.]

[Yes! I think so too! Can someone analyze his clothes and things?]

[Is Mingzai's dad really this nice? He actually went over to look at a little bathtub?]

[A dad who doesn't spoil the fun gets so many bonus points! (I swear, I'm really not letting his looks cloud my judgment!]

[You can tell the gorgeous dad is super gentle. I can't take it. I want to take him home, sob.]

Hearing movement outside, Wen Cishu put an arm around his son's shoulders. "Come on, let's join the others."

When they entered the kitchen, everyone else was already there, discussing lunch.

Zhu Wei said, "I've checked the kitchen. There's only rice, flour, cooking oil, and seasonings. The fridge is basically empty."

Zhou Xu, who had been holding his son the whole time, frowned. "So you're saying there's rice, but nothing to go with it?"

Bo Yiming, who had just come to a stop, suddenly looked utterly excited. "Then can we only eat plain rice for lunch?"

The adults all laughed.

Zhou Xu teased, "Yiming, why are you so happy?"

Bo Yiming scratched his head.

Huh?

Wasn't this a really fun thing?

[Mingzai, look at that expression, like you've just been offered a magnificent feast. Does that seem right?]

[Kids this age really do think differently from everyone else.]

[Mingzai, even though you look a little like the gorgeous dad, I'm starting to wonder if you're really the gentle beauty's biological son!]

[This father and son really are one as still as a maiden and the other as swift as a fleeing hare.]

As Wen Cishu examined the bottled water on the kitchen floor, he spotted a card resting on top.

"There's a message from the production team here."

He handed it to his son, who ran over.

Bo Yiming followed the words on the card and read aloud, "Dear guests, please be sure to look farther afield. Everything within sight belongs to you."

Everyone looked out across the green space beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, their gazes passing over the vegetable plots and the lake.

Rongrong gently tugged at her mother's clothes, unable to hide the delight in her soft voice. "Mommy, Mommy, look over there. There are geese and roosters!"

Xingxing noticed a rainbow-colored boat moored by the lake and a little hut.

Bo Yiming's gaze also settled on the hut. "Little Dad, I'm going over there to have a look."

Wen Cishu cautioned him, "Yiming, don't go near the lake."

"Got it!" Bo Yiming dashed away.

Without a word, Xingxing took off after him.

Chu Han called out from behind, "Xingxing, be careful. Stay with your big brother Yiming."

Before Xingxing could speak, Bo Yiming came running back and took his hand without giving him a chance to object.

Bo Yiming said, "Your big brother will take you!"

Xingxing glanced at his captured hand. Before he could react, he was being pulled along, his bangs lifting in the wind as they ran.

Seeing this, Chu Han said softly to Wen Cishu, "Your Yiming is such a good boy. He even gets Xingxing to be a little livelier."

Wen Cishu smiled faintly. "Sometimes he's just too lively."

Just as the parents finished speaking, the two boys in the distance suddenly stopped.

Bo Yiming ran back alone.

Chu Han stepped forward and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Oh!"

Bo Yiming looked up, panting. Running had left his hair a little tousled, which only made his small face look even more finely featured and handsome.

In the sunlight, his amber eyes shone with sincerity, and his earnest voice was extremely polite. "Auntie, my little dad isn't in good health. Could I trouble you to look after him?"

Wen Cishu, who had been leaning to one side, quickly straightened up and said gently, "Yiming, Dad is fine."

Looking at this considerate young boy, Chu Han nodded. "No problem. Go and have fun with your little brother. I'll help you look after your dad."

Wen Cishu was slim, with porcelain-white skin, and certainly was not the strong, robust type.

But his complexion had improved considerably lately, and he no longer looked particularly ill.

At that moment, as Wen Cishu looked at the boy gazing up at him, something suddenly stirred in his heart for reasons he could not explain.

Bo Yiming grinned at his little dad.

Reassured, he ran back and took the hand of Xingxing, who had been waiting where he was. "Let's go. Your big brother is taking you exploring over there."

The quiet Xingxing did not understand why this big brother was always so excited.
