Background / History
Farm Episode
Xiao Qi joins Little Ones Are Supermen with his father, boy-band member Zhou Xu. When Bo Yiming introduces Wen Cishu as his “Little Dad,” Xiao Qi repeats the address, making the guests laugh. Zhou Xu explains that Wen Cishu is Yiming’s father, and Xiao Qi subsequently calls him “Little Uncle” 9 11.
During the farm stay, Xiao Qi picks vegetables and helps collect potatoes. Paired with Bo Yiming for the potato harvest, he gathers what the older boy digs up; the two refuse to surrender an especially large potato to Zhou Xu for cooking. He also objects to catching the farm’s roosters because they are cute, though he agrees to catch ducks after Xingxing proposes them instead 12 13 17.
At the end of filming, Bo Yiming gives Xiao Qi the largest souvenir potato because he is the youngest child. Zhou Xu later posts the children’s harvest photograph on Weibo. Once home, Xiao Qi asks his parents to make a three-dimensional cloud photo frame for the picture 19 20 22.
Teahouse Episode
For the second episode, Xiao Qi and the other children become the “little owners” of a teahouse on a historical-costume street. They distribute costumes and assign the adults their duties. Xiao Qi initially suggests that Wen Cishu’s job should simply be holding him; he later joins Rongrong at the entrance to welcome customers 37 38.
When the teahouse runs out of tea leaves, Xiao Qi volunteers to accompany the other children to obtain more. At a tea shop, Bo Yiming holds him beside the counter and has him imitate a beckoning cat. His smiling, waving performance draws someone inside. The children subsequently earn tea by cleaning the shop, and Xiao Qi shares a tangerine with the others before they leave 44 45.
Appearance
- Round head and large eyes: His eyes are compared to saucers and grapes; he stares intently at the cameraman upon his arrival 9.
- Soft, rounded features: He has fair little hands and chubby cheeks. Despite his round appearance, Bo Yiming finds him surprisingly light to carry 12 14 42.
- Babyish voice: His speech is repeatedly described as sweet and babyish 9 11 42.
- Penguin pajamas: He wears a penguin outfit when visiting Wen Cishu’s room during the teahouse stay 42.
Personality
Xiao Qi is openly affectionate, particularly toward Wen Cishu. He asks to be held, nestles into his arms, and plays with his long hair. On their reunion for the second episode, he asks whether “Little Uncle” has forgotten him, despite having spoken with him by video call only two days earlier 36 42.
He is protective of Bo Yiming and becomes indignant when Xingxing calls the older boy stupid. He is also curious about unfamiliar things, from the Bo family’s large suitcases to Wen Cishu’s hidden hair. His candid remarks expose family details that Zhou Xu would rather keep private, including his father’s habit of practicing singing in the bath 10 11 12 39.
