Hell on Earth
Bang! Bang!
Two skulls burst beneath a crushing grip, the sounds echoing between heaven and earth. Blood and brains sprayed in all directions before the Asura casually tossed Zhao Wuyan and Liu Shan aside like two heaps of worthless trash.
"Clan Head..."
"Clan Head..."
"Father..."
At the sight, the Zhao Lineage and Liu Lineage members following close behind roared, their voices filled with boundless despair and terror.
The Asura swept his scarlet eyes over them, then vanished from where he stood. In the blink of an eye, he appeared amid the Zhao Lineage and Liu Lineage crowds. As his hands rose and fell, blood, heads, and severed arms flew through the sky, and screams rang out without end!
Beneath the night sky.
All of Storm City had become a hell of blood. Mountains of corpses and seas of blood filled this ancient city of ten thousand years as endless slaughter unfolded. Bloody heads flew through the sky, mangled bodies and severed arms carpeted the ground, and the demonic, blood-red Asuras looked like Asura demon gods against the scene!
"Aaah... you're all demons! You're devils! What did we do wrong?"
"Someone save us! Who can save us? I hate you... devils... you're all devils!"
"Father! Mother! Boohoo... save Ling'er, save Ling'er... they're all demons! All demons... boohoo..."
Within Storm City, the slaughter continued! Curses! Wails! Sobs! They resounded through the clouds in every direction!
The entire city was filled with grief and howls, sorrow and weeping. Bloody mist filled the sky, blood flowed in rivers, and bones piled into mountains, as though the whole world had become a hell on earth.
Slaughter filled the city!
Lamentation filled the city!
Atop the immortal skull, Jun Wudao stood with his hands behind his back, like a supreme deity, quietly looking down upon the hell on earth below. He simply stood there, watching, without a word.
He was utterly still-his expression, his eyes, his presence-like a dead sea that had lain silent for hundreds of millions of years in endless darkness, without a single ripple!
A quarter of an hour later, the slaughter ended.
The entire city was exterminated. Not one survived!
Looking at the mangled bodies and severed arms strewn throughout the city, at the earth stained red with blood, at the once-prosperous city reduced to blood-soaked ruins, Jun Wudao's eyes showed not a ripple, as calm as a dead sea that had lain silent for hundreds of millions of years.
Bloody?
Cruel?
Heartless?
Jun Wudao did not think so, because half a day earlier, the Jun Clan had been destroyed by Su Fan in exactly the same way!
Of the hundreds of thousands throughout the clan, not one had survived except Jun Wudao himself. The entire clan had perished, their bones piled into mountains, their blood staining heaven and earth!
This was the cycle of cause and effect in the world. There was no right or wrong to speak of!
From the day Su Fan came to seize the bride, the karma between the two sides had already formed. Whether the Jun Clan or Su Fan, only one side could survive!
If one insisted on deciding right and wrong, then the only thing at fault was this world where the strong devoured the weak!
For this was a world where the strong reigned supreme, while the lives of the weak were worth no more than grass, without honor or dignity, trampled underfoot!
He, Jun Wudao, was no great saint of the mortal world. He could not simply smile and wash away all debts of gratitude and hatred!
This was also the truest reflection of this... world, because mercy toward an enemy was the greatest cruelty toward oneself!
In a world where the strong devoured the weak, truth was forever held beneath a pair of fists!
Enemies, threats, future calamities!
These were things every cultivator would erase even at the cost of everything. No one would leave even the slightest threat or future calamity for themselves, their families, or their loved ones!
Kindness and mercy would only send one into a bottomless abyss.
Slaughter, sect massacres, clan exterminations!
These played out across the world every day. In a world where the strong devoured the weak, this was the law of survival in the cultivation world. Humanity had nothing to do with it!
Of course, one could always be merciful and kind, but one's enemies would not. There was only one life, and death meant the end. No one would play games with their own life.
Of course!
A certain group was not included.
In the night.
A cold wind brushed past.
"My lord, the entire city has been slaughtered. We have investigated. Not one survived!"
Scenes of human tragedy filled the city; calling it a city of blood and mountains of corpses would be no exaggeration. A million Asuras gazed up at the sky, looking at Jun Wudao standing atop the immortal skull.
Their bodies were stained red with blood, and immense, savage killing auras radiated from them. Like bloodthirsty fiends, like evil ghosts from hell, they chilled the heart and struck terror!
Hearing this, Jun Wudao nodded lightly. His dark, fathomless eyes casually swept over the bloody hell below, and a trace of solace for the Jun Clan appeared on his stern face.
This was only the beginning!
He, Jun Wudao, would kill Su Fan!
After taking one long look at the hell below, Jun Wudao gathered his thoughts and instructed the system inwardly:
System, absorb the breath of origin and breath of nirvana here.
The Su Lineage had been destroyed, so naturally, the breath of origin and breath of nirvana here had to be absorbed as well.
"Ding! Beginning absorption!"
A mechanical electronic voice sounded in Jun Wudao's mind. Then a jet-black mystic light shot out, transforming in the blink of an eye into a devouring vortex a hundred zhang across above Storm City.
The deep, terrifying devouring vortex spun furiously in the sky, churning the boundless surrounding space, wind, and clouds. Its immense, seemingly irresistible devouring force ceaselessly swallowed the breath of origin and breath of nirvana permeating heaven and earth.
As the devouring vortex swallowed furiously, the breath of origin and breath of nirvana filling heaven and earth were devoured completely in the blink of an eye.
"Ding! Absorption complete!" "Ding! Beginning conversion!" "Ding! Conversion complete!" "Ding! Converted into fifty thousand origin points and five hundred annihilation points!"
The system's mechanical electronic notifications also sounded in Jun Wudao's mind.
Fifty thousand origin points, five hundred annihilation points? So there really was no fat to skim from a small lineage?
It seemed origin points and annihilation points were still closely tied to cultivation...
Hearing the system's mechanical electronic notifications, Jun Wudao could not help frowning. After a brief inward sigh, he looked down at the million Asuras and spoke indifferently:
"Let's go."
With that, Jun Wudao turned and strode toward the Nine Nether Hall.
Now he, too, was someone in charge. He ought to properly plan out all the various matters ahead.
As for the resources in Storm City?
He would leave those for the little lambs. Only by fattening them up could these little lambs create enough origin points and annihilation points for him, Jun Wudao, on the day he harvested them!
Compared with these resources, origin points and annihilation points were what Jun Wudao wanted, and only death and destruction could give rise to breath of origin and breath of nirvana!
And if he wanted more breath of origin and breath of nirvana, those little lambs would have little value if their cultivation was too low!
If he begrudged the fodder, how could he raise those little lambs to be plump and fat?
As Jun Wudao strode away, the million Asuras followed, flying back to the Nine Nether Rebirth Boat.
Hum!
A rumble like the roar of an enraged dragon rang out. The Nine Nether Rebirth Boat instantly pierced through space and vanished from this stretch of the void.
Rumble!
As the Nine Nether Rebirth Boat pierced through space and departed, dark clouds instantly gathered over Storm City, and countless bolts of lightning began to crack and thunder furiously.
Streaks of serpentine lightning lashed in every direction. Torrential rain poured down like a waterfall, as though heaven itself were shedding tears over this human tragedy.
Violent winds rose.
Rain poured in torrents.
Yet the culprit was already far away.
