Background / History
Loss of Her Physical Body
Mei'er originally practiced cultivation through teachings passed down within her family. Fascinated by ancient texts and treasure hunting, she secretly ventured to Tanbang Star and located the Buddha Sect ruins. Poisonous mist destroyed her physical body while she was at the Early Nascent Soul Stage 99 100 145 192.
An exceptionally rare Form-Transforming Mushroom prevented her Nascent Soul from dispersing and enabled her to cultivate a spirit body. She survived alone in an ancient castle for roughly a hundred years, but lacked the Yin-aligned treasures needed to progress. Her transformations helped her survive several calamities, although a Soul-Devouring Demon could immobilize her with its Soul-Stabilizing Blue Light 99 100 105.
Meeting Li Qiang
When Li Qiang encountered her, Mei'er feared that he would imprison or absorb her valuable pure Yin spirit body. His willingness to return her storage belt and provide cultivation resources gradually won her trust. After helping her solidify her body with Mystic Ice Essence, he accepted her as his sworn younger sister 99 100.
Mei'er accompanied him through the ruins, explaining True Illusion Sword Qi, artifact classifications, and ancient techniques. She also befriended his little sea demon and named it Blue Light. After anxiously waiting for Li Qiang to escape the Buddha Dust, she guided him and Wu Chen through the ruins toward the surface 100 101 105.
Spirit Pearl and Rebirth
Qi Junsha helped Mei'er cultivate a spirit-body Primordial Spirit using Dragon Rich Incense. She condensed into a spirit pearl, which Li Qiang carried until it hatched inside the Brilliant Swift Immortal Formation 112 139.
After emerging, Mei'er helped examine the treasure chamber, translated an incomplete Immortal Spirit Instruction, and calculated the direction of its exit. Li Qiang protected her during their escape through the formation's extreme heat. He subsequently gave her the Illusory Star Battle Armor and Illusory Star Sword, which she refined for her Spirit Sword Body 139 140 141.
Apprenticeship in the Spirit Ghost Realm
Mei'er and Li Qiang discovered a passage into the Spirit Ghost Realm inside the Illusory Devil Pearl. After being forcibly transported to Spirit Gate Tower City, she refused to enter the Guidance Pool and defended herself with explosive treasures. Her unusually solid body and colored radiance attracted Spirit King Grand Venerable, who recognized her potential to reach the Spirit King Realm 141 143.
Li Qiang rescued her, but their confrontation with the realm's rulers escalated into a prolonged conflict. After three years of cultivation, he learned that both Grand Venerables wanted Mei'er as a disciple rather than intending to harm her. He arranged a shared apprenticeship, allowing her to learn from either master without requiring her to cultivate both incompatible methods simultaneously 143 144 145.
Mei'er initially refused to leave Li Qiang. The prospect of companionship with Heavenly Mist Flower and fellow Spirit Sword Bodies—especially the chance to become their eldest senior sister—eventually persuaded her to stay 145.
Return to Li Qiang's Travels
By the crisis at the Reverse Passage, Mei'er had reached the Spirit General Realm. Despite her masters' warnings, she joined the battle against the invading devils rather than remain safely on Li Qiang's shoulder. Li Qiang also gave her the recovered Demon-Slaying Bow, which she lent to Spirit King Grand Venerable for the battle 165 166.
She later traveled with Li Qiang toward Sealed Fate Planet, admitting that she was afraid to return home after losing her physical body. During their journey, she helped persuade the newly freed Ling Baihui to join them. Li Qiang registered Mei'er for the Law Technique contest at the Dao Technique and Law Technique Grand Competition 192 197 199.
On Sealed Fate Planet, Mei'er and Ling Baihui received protection from Li Qiang's companions and allied sects. Their friendship helped Mei'er become more independent; by their reunion on the resource-rich planet inside the Warm Wind Belt, Li Qiang observed that she no longer depended on him as completely as before 222 238.
Spirit King and the Connection Between Realms
When Li Qiang returned to the Spirit Ghost Realm through the collapsing Illusory Devil Pearl, Mei'er had already entered the Spirit King Realm. He subsequently connected the Spirit Ghost Realm to the Primordial Realm and brought her and several companions to inspect a planet suitable for spirits and ghosts 288.
Li Qiang entrusted Mei'er with restriction jade talismans whose loss could threaten the Spirit Ghost Realm. Although she wanted to accompany him again, he refused because her fully mastered innate charm could kill people in the mortal world. She agreed to remain behind, asking him to visit often 288.
Appearance
- First solidified form: A delicate girl appearing fifteen or sixteen, with flowing black hair, exceptionally fair skin, and long, slightly curled eyelashes 100.
- After hatching: Initially emerged as a tiny infant before growing to an eight- or nine-year-old appearance. Further cultivation and integration of the Illusory Star Sword brought her appearance to eleven or twelve 139 141.
- Spirit-body traits: Floats freely, can shrink to thumb- or finger-size, and can become invisible or assume other forms 100 112 143.
- Unusual radiance: Her Spirit Sword Body emits colored light and has very little surrounding illusory mist. Its solidity exceeded that of spirit marshals when she first entered the Spirit Ghost Realm 143.
- Public disguise: Often appears as an ordinary young female cultivator to conceal her overwhelming natural charm, although traces of it remain 192 197 203.
Personality
Mei'er is initially timid, distrustful, and deeply affected by her isolation and the loss of her physical body. Unfamiliar places frighten her, and she repeatedly seeks reassurance from Li Qiang. Once she trusts him, she becomes openly affectionate and regards him as her closest person 100 101 105 143.
As her confidence grows, she develops a sharp tongue and a mischievous enjoyment of acting as an eldest senior sister. She likes ordering junior disciples about, but also gives them cultivation treasures and reassurance. Treasure hunting remains her favorite pastime despite the disaster that originally cost her physical body 106 140 141 145 170.
Her own suffering makes her particularly sympathetic toward frightened or isolated people. She comforts Bi Wuzi's former captives and insists on approaching Ling Baihui despite Li Qiang's caution. Her devotion can also overcome her fear: during the devil invasion, she refuses to watch Li Qiang risk his life without helping 140 166 197.

Spirit Sword Body
Mei'er can transform into a spirit sword and release chilling Sword Qi and brilliant sword light 141 166.
- Manifests numerous forms, including scattered balls of sword light 141.

- Bewitches Devil Venerable Chiming on sight despite his considerable power 172.
- Uses natural Sound Bewitchment, to which Li Qiang is exceptionally resistant, though even he experiences slight dizziness 192.

Yin-Aligned Techniques
Mei'er uses the Mystic Pearl's yin-cold Qi for cultivation, protection, and specialized attacks 100 139 141.
