Chapters 126–150 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 126Plotting against the Prefecture Lord

Andrew rescued Deenmike from Quasman in the battle arena and left despite Quasman's threats to invoke the Sovereign's rules. Bloodflame Prefecture Lord Digelunsi judged Andrew too dangerous to confront immediately and planned to enlist Bloodridge Army commander Youyindier in six months.

  • Andrew saved Deenmike from Quasman's arrow, rejected Quasman's claim that he had violated the Sovereign's rules, and left the arena with him.
  • Quasman summoned elite prefecture soldiers and ordered Kutum to arrest Andrew and everyone connected to him.
  • Andrew met the Emperor Wing Fiend, Herbert, and Bernistan, then sent the Emperor Wing Fiend back to the castle with Herbert and Bernistan while he continued with Deenmike.
  • Kutum reported that the soldiers had searched Bloodflame City without finding Andrew, and Digelunsi said Andrew was a powerful Seven-Star Fiend with terrifying soul power.
  • Digelunsi decided to wait for Youyindier to arrive in six months so they could uphold the Sovereign's rules together without risking retaliation from Andrew.

Ch. 127A hundred consecutive victories

Andrew defeated a hundred consecutive opponents in Bloodflame City's battle arena to earn the right to challenge Digelunsi, the Prefecture Lord. He openly called Digelunsi out before the crowd, leaving the challenge unanswered.

  • Andrew hid Deenmike in a courtyard and set up a magic formation while Deenmike entered secluded cultivation after gaining insight.
  • Andrew returned to the battle arena, where Digelunsi watched as he defeated a Seven-Star Fiend and then nine more challengers with ease.
  • Andrew left after twenty consecutive victories, and Digelunsi concluded that he possessed Asura-level strength.
  • Over the following ten days, Andrew continued winning until he reached a hundred consecutive victories, including defeating the arena's previous hundred-win fighter.
  • Andrew claimed his right to challenge the Prefecture Lord and publicly demanded that Digelunsi accept.

Ch. 128Challenging the Prefecture Lord

Andrew agreed to fight Digelunsi at Purple Baleful Mountain six months later, while remaining wary that the prefecture lord might threaten Han Yue and the others. As the duel approached, Deenmike advanced to Midgod, and crowds gathered outside Bloodflame City to witness the challenge.

  • Digelunsi agreed to Andrew's challenge and set the duel for six months later at Purple Baleful Mountain south of Bloodflame City.
  • Quasman urged Digelunsi to arrest Andrew, but Digelunsi said Andrew had Asura-level strength and hinted that he planned to face him alongside another Asura.
  • Andrew watched over Bloodflame City to protect Han Yue and the others, while Deenmike's earth element divine clone broke through to Midgod.
  • The six months passed without Digelunsi investigating Andrew's background or discovering his family and friends.
  • Metallic Lifeforms arrived from all directions, bringing crowds who traveled south of Bloodflame City to see the duel.

Ch. 129Youyindier

Andrew arrived at Purple Baleful Mountain for his Asura challenge against Digelunsi and discovered that Youyindier, commander of the Blood Peak Legion, had come with him. The chapter left Andrew suspecting that Digelunsi had arranged for Youyindier to help kill him if he tried to escape, while Youyindier publicly promised not to interfere in the duel.

  • Hundreds of millions of spectators gathered at Purple Baleful Mountain to watch Andrew's challenge against Digelunsi.
  • Andrew arrived alone, having hidden Deenmike and left the Emperor Wing Fiend in Bloodflame City, then examined the mountain's soul-affecting purple baleful energy.
  • Andrew sensed Digelunsi approaching with another Asura and recognized him as Youyindier, commander of the Blood Peak Legion.
  • Andrew suggested that Digelunsi had delayed the duel to join forces with Youyindier, prompting an uproar among the spectators and an angry denial from Digelunsi.
  • Youyindier said that no one would interfere in the challenge but warned Andrew about his past interference in a battle at the arena.
  • Andrew inferred that Youyindier might help Digelunsi kill him if he fled, and wondered whether Youyindier would intervene if Andrew won.

Ch. 130The battle began

Andrew fought Digelunsi for the position of Bloodflame Prefecture lord, hiding his Three-element Soul Mutation and Azure Dragon Bloodline while testing the Asura’s techniques. After evading Digelunsi’s attacks, Andrew unveiled a long-developed ultimate move and caught a powerful sword strike with both hands, losing all ten fingers.

  • Digelunsi drew his blood-red sword and attacked Andrew with three streaks of sword energy, which Andrew blocked with his Fused Divine Power.
  • Youyindier recognized Andrew as a Soul Mutation User and watched the battle, while Andrew resolved to keep his Azure Dragon Bloodline secret.
  • Digelunsi attacked from two indistinguishable figures, but Andrew used his speed to evade the pincer assault for fifteen minutes.
  • Andrew challenged Digelunsi to face his strength and rushed in as Digelunsi thrust his sword toward Andrew’s head.
  • Andrew caught Digelunsi’s powerful sword strike with both hands, severing all ten of his fingers.

Ch. 131The outcome was decided

Andrew caught Digelunsi’s sword, struck him with a Soul Attack, and thought he had won, but Digelunsi faked his injury and counterattacked. Andrew entered Dragonform, overpowered Digelunsi, and threw him through several peaks of Purple Baleful Mountain, deciding the challenge.

  • Andrew caught Digelunsi’s sword with his destroyed hands and used his Soul Attack to make Digelunsi appear defeated.
  • Andrew released the sword, but Digelunsi recovered and revealed that he had feigned soul damage before attacking Andrew from both sides.
  • Andrew entered Dragonform, stopped Digelunsi’s swords with his scales, and caught the sword behind him.
  • Andrew broke the blood-red sword, severed the rear Digelunsi with his tail, and wrapped Digelunsi in his tail.
  • Andrew flung Digelunsi through several peaks of Purple Baleful Mountain, deciding the challenge.

Ch. 132Baleful aura

Andrew defeated Digelunsi and refused to let him leave, preparing to kill him despite Digelunsi's threat to fight back. As Digelunsi drew Purple Baleful Mountain's aura into himself and Youyindier edged closer, Andrew faced the coming battle with his Sovereign Artifact ready.

  • Andrew defeated Digelunsi, who admitted his loss and said he would leave Bloodflame Prefecture.
  • Andrew refused to spare Digelunsi, and both revealed drops of Sovereign power as Digelunsi prepared to resist.
  • Andrew drew his Sovereign Artifact, the purple sword, making Digelunsi realize he had no hope of escape and Youyindier hesitate to intervene.
  • Digelunsi transformed and absorbed Purple Baleful Mountain's baleful aura, while spectators condemned him for using the mountain's power during challenges.
  • Youyindier moved closer to the battlefield as Digelunsi's transformation ended, and Andrew waited with his sword ready.

Ch. 133Reason

Andrew fought Digelunsi on Purple Baleful Mountain, testing his strength without Sovereign’s Might until he killed one of Digelunsi’s doubles. Youyindier intervened to save Digelunsi for a possible Sovereign’s reward, but Andrew used Sovereign’s Might to kill Digelunsi and then faced Youyindier’s attack.

  • Digelunsi transformed and drew destruction sovereign power into his body, while Andrew chose to test himself without using Sovereign’s Might.
  • Andrew and Digelunsi fought at high speed, and Digelunsi split into two shadows that overwhelmed Andrew with their attacks.
  • Andrew fused Roundness and Explosion to slow one Digelunsi, then punched through his chest and destroyed him.
  • Youyindier stopped Andrew from killing the remaining Digelunsi and revealed through Soul Transmission that he hoped to deliver Digelunsi to a powerful figure for rewards.
  • Andrew pretended to consider the reward, then used Sovereign’s Might to kill Digelunsi and destroy his escaping clone.
  • Youyindier attacked Andrew in fury, but Andrew endured his punches and moved behind him with remarkable speed.

Ch. 134Youyindier yielded

Andrew’s fight with Youyindier led to a breakthrough in his Fire Element soul attack, but neither fighter could defeat the other after both used Sovereign’s Might. They ended the battle, and Andrew became the new Prefect of Bloodflame Prefecture, finally feeling he had a home.

  • Andrew attacked Youyindier with sword energy, but Youyindier’s Material Defense Sovereign Artifact blocked it.
  • Andrew discovered a fusion between the Fire Element’s Soul Attack and Explosion, greatly strengthening his soul attack.
  • Andrew’s combined sword and soul strike threatened Youyindier, who used Sovereign’s Might to protect himself.
  • Youyindier called for a halt, and he and Andrew agreed to end their inconclusive fight.
  • Youyindier left Bloodflame City, and Andrew took control of Bloodflame Prefecture as its new Prefect.
  • Emperor Wing Fiend left after Andrew’s challenge, and Andrew looked over Bloodflame City and felt at home.

Ch. 135Speculation

After becoming Prefect of Bloodflame Prefecture, Andrew weighed whether and when to intervene in the war against the Four Divine Beasts Clan and focused on fusing his Mysteries. Meanwhile, Beirut considered experimenting again with the Four Divine Beasts Essence Blood, and Gaiseresen and the other patriarchs questioned whether Andrew belonged to their clan.

  • Andrew took command of Bloodflame Prefecture's army, learned that the Four Divine Beasts Clan was losing a war of attrition, and decided to wait another hundred to two hundred years before intervening.
  • Andrew entered secluded training after finding a point of convergence between the Water Profound Mystery of Roundness, the Fire Element's Explosion, and the Lightning Element's Shattering.
  • Beirut learned of Andrew's victory, reflected on his success with Azure Dragon Essence Blood, and vanished to investigate whether the Four Divine Beasts Essence Blood could produce another exceptional human.
  • Gaiseresen and the other Four Divine Beasts Clan patriarchs watched Andrew's Floating Shadow and wondered whether he was their descendant, but Gaiseresen remained uncertain.

Ch. 136Pusluo pays a visit

The Four Divine Beasts Clan sent Blu and the White Tiger Clan patriarch toward Bloodflame Prefecture while the Eight Great Clans prepared to intercept them near the Skyrite Mountains. After two peaceful months in Bloodflame City, Andrew was delighted to hear that Pusluo had come to visit, and hurried to meet him.

  • The Four Divine Beasts Clan decided that Blu and the White Tiger Clan patriarch would investigate Andrew, while the Eight Great Clans resolved to reinforce the western approaches to the Skyrite Mountains and watch for them.
  • Andrew managed Bloodflame Prefecture, considered using its Inkstone revenues to protect his family, and looked forward to joining the Planar War after dealing with the Eight Great Clans.
  • The Lance Clan settled into life in Bloodflame City as Howard and Janice refined Highgod Divine Sparks, Han Yue toured the city with the younger generation, and Herbert and Deenmike trained.
  • Kang'en told Andrew that an expert named Pusluo had arrived with apparent ill intentions, and Andrew eagerly vanished to meet him.

Ch. 137Amassing wealth

Pusluo arrived early to serve Andrew for a hundred thousand years, and Andrew put him in charge of Bloodflame Prefecture's army. As Andrew pursued Inkstones to produce more Sovereign's Might, Elder Bru and the White Tiger patriarch arrived in Bloodflame City and found Bernistan, an Azure Dragon Clan member.

  • Pusluo came to Bloodflame Prefecture decades before his deadline and reminded Andrew to honor their agreement, including the promised three drops of Sovereign's Might.
  • Andrew appointed Pusluo supreme commander of the Prefecture Army, despite Kang'en's doubts and the likely opposition of Moli and the other commanders.
  • Pusluo led prefecture soldiers in wiping out bandits and collecting their wealth, while Andrew considered auctioning Sovereign's Might to obtain more Inkstones.
  • Elder Bru and the White Tiger patriarch arrived in Bloodflame City and sensed an Azure Dragon Clan presence near the Fiend Castle.
  • Elder Bru and the White Tiger patriarch stopped Bernistan outside the Fiend Castle, and all three recognized one another through their clan bloodlines.

Ch. 138Meeting the visitors from the Four Divine Beasts Clan

Bernistan introduced Elder Bru and White Tiger patriarch Nemo Leius to Andrew after revealing Andrew’s Azure Dragon Bloodline and his promise to return to the Four Divine Beasts Clan. Andrew acknowledged his ties and said he would eventually help, but he lacked the confidence to join the war against the Eight Great Clans yet, believing he could end it after a few hundred years.

  • The White Tiger patriarch identified Bernistan as a Redding Clan guard and asked how he had come to Bloodflame Prefecture.
  • Bernistan explained that Andrew possessed the Azure Dragon Bloodline and recounted how he had followed him, prompting Elder Bru and the White Tiger patriarch to consider Andrew a member of the Four Divine Beasts Clan.
  • Bernistan told them that Andrew’s descendants also had strong Azure Dragon Bloodline and that Andrew planned to bring them back for their baptism.
  • Bernistan brought Elder Bru and Nemo Leius to meet Andrew, who welcomed them and said he planned to return to the Four Divine Beasts Clan eventually.
  • The White Tiger patriarch urged Andrew to join the fight against the Eight Great Clans, but Andrew said he was not yet confident and expected to be able to end the war after a few hundred years.

Ch. 139Bru departed

Andrew refused to send forces to help the Four Divine Beasts Clan end its war, insisting he needed time to grow strong enough to defeat the Eight Great Clans. After Bernistan left with Elder Bru and the White Tiger clan leader, Andrew decided to auction Sovereign's Might to fund his efforts to strengthen himself.

  • Andrew told Elder Bru and the White Tiger clan leader that he would not join their war, though he expected to become powerful enough to deal with the Eight Great Clans within a few hundred years.
  • Elder Bru ended the discussion and took Bernistan back to the Four Divine Beasts Clan; Bernistan reminded Andrew that he had promised to return, and Andrew vowed to repay the clan’s kindness.
  • After the visitors left, Andrew resolved to settle his debt to the clan by advancing his strength as quickly as possible.
  • Andrew considered using Sovereign's Might to strengthen his body and realized he could earn far more Inkstones by auctioning it than by relying on his usual income.
  • Andrew decided to hold an auction and began considering how to spread word of the Sovereign's Might sale.

Ch. 140Six Patriarchs of the Eight Great Clans

Andrew announced that Bloodflame City would auction Sovereign's Might in a hundred years, then entered seclusion. Meanwhile, the White Tiger patriarch and Blu escorted Bernistan toward the Skyrite Mountains, where six patriarchs of the Eight Great Clans arrived to attack them.

  • Andrew ordered Huerte to spread news of the auction and invite others to offer treasures, then withdrew into seclusion.
  • Elder Bru and the White Tiger patriarch took Bernistan east toward the Skyrite Mountains and prepared for the Eight Great Clans' pursuit.
  • Eight Great Clans scouts watched the travelers as dozens of enemy Metallic Lifeforms approached with several clan patriarchs.
  • Blu recognized Edric, Reynalds, Bolin, Deen, Barbary, and Wenner among the six patriarchs leading the force.
  • Bolin challenged the White Tiger patriarch, Nadal, and attacked him with Fate Divine Power spears that also carried Soul Attacks.
  • Nadal charged forward and destroyed Bolin's spears with several blows.

Ch. 141An Innate Divine Ability Counterattack

Blu and the White Tiger clan leader were overwhelmed by the Eight Great Clans, and Bolin gravely wounded White Tiger before pursuing him. Bolin returned bloodied after White Tiger unleashed his innate divine ability, leaving the Eight Great Clans wondering how he survived Tiger Roar.

  • Edric and Barbary used their Sovereign Artifacts to suppress Blu while three other clan leaders guarded against escape.
  • Blu activated Sovereign's Might and broke through Barbary's attacks, but Edric's Armor of Nature protected him from Blu's punches.
  • Bolin struck the White Tiger clan leader with a silver-white spear and pursued him as Blu tried to intervene.
  • Edric and Barbary blocked Blu while Bernistan watched helplessly and Reynalds and Wenner expected the battle to end in their favor.
  • Bolin returned with a broken wing and bloodied chest, explaining that White Tiger had unleashed Tiger Roar after being gravely wounded.

Ch. 142Each side withdrew

The Eight Great Clans and the Four Divine Beasts Clan ended their battle after Gaiseresen arrived with reinforcements, leaving both sides to withdraw. A hundred years later, Andrew prepared to auction Sovereign's Might in Bloodflame City, where tens of millions of visitors and troublesome experts had gathered.

  • Bolin charged at the wounded White Tiger Clan Leader, but Gaiseresen arrived with nearly a hundred members of the Four Divine Beasts Clan and rescued him and Blu.
  • Reynalds and the clan leaders on both sides judged that another battle could destroy them, so they traded threats and withdrew from the battlefield.
  • Half a year later, Andrew learned that the White Tiger Clan Leader and Elder Bru had nearly died and resolved to settle his debt with the Eight Great Clans later.
  • A hundred years passed, and Andrew planned to give Pusluo one of his five remaining drops of Sovereign's Might and auction the rest.
  • Kang'en told Andrew that tens of millions of people had entered Bloodflame City for the auction, including powerful troublemakers who ignored the city’s troops.

Ch. 143Preparing to Make an Example

After learning that an outsider had harassed Han Yue and Emily five years earlier, Andrew decided to purge the troublemakers in Bloodflame City. He ordered Pusluo to guard the Prefecture Lord’s castle, then sent the Prefecture Army after Dikor, whose discovery marked the start of the crackdown.

  • Andrew learned that Huerte had killed a Seven-Star Fiend who harassed Han Yue and Emily while Andrew was in secluded cultivation.
  • Andrew summoned Pusluo from a distant military camp and told him to protect the Prefecture Lord’s castle during the purge.
  • Pusluo agreed to guard the castle after Andrew gave him a drop of Destruction Sovereign Power and promised to reimburse him if he had to use it.
  • Moli, Kang'en, and the other commanders led squads of prefectural soldiers through Bloodflame City as residents anticipated Andrew’s retaliation.
  • Moli called for Dikor, a fugitive who had injured prefectural soldiers sixteen years earlier, and Andrew was revealed to have found him.

Ch. 144Soul Disguise

Andrew used his Paragon-level soul power to expose Dikor’s Soul Disguise and surrounded him with Bloodflame Prefecture’s forces. Dikor began fighting Moli and four other Seven-Star Fiends, while Andrew watched and considered how to deal with the bandit.

  • Andrew chose Dikor, a notorious Seven-Star Fiend and Wind Whistling Falcon, as the target for establishing his authority in Bloodflame Prefecture.
  • Andrew saw through Dikor’s Soul Disguise with his powerful divine sense and sent troops to surround his hiding place.
  • Dikor realized the prefect’s forces had found him, but decided he could escape the five Seven-Star Fiends and twenty thousand soldiers.
  • Dikor walked out to face Moli and boasted that they still could not capture him.
  • Andrew ordered Moli and the other four Seven-Star Fiends to attack before Dikor could use his words as a distraction.
  • Dikor blocked Moli’s axe attack with his slender sword and a storm of sword energy, while Andrew assessed Dikor’s strength and considered his next move.

Ch. 145Defeating Dikor

Dikor escaped Moli and four other Seven-Star Fiends until Andrew intervened as lord of Bloodflame Prefecture. Andrew offered Dikor surrender or one attack, and Dikor’s attempt to resist ended beneath Andrew’s overwhelming power.

  • Dikor evaded the five Seven-Star Fiends, but Moli struck him with his thrown axe and wounded his shoulder.
  • Dikor healed and resumed fighting, using his speed to keep Moli, Kang'en, and the others from landing attacks.
  • Andrew appeared above the battlefield, and Moli and the others withdrew as the prefecture soldiers recognized their lord.
  • Andrew confronted Dikor over his crimes in Bloodflame City and offered him the choice to surrender or take one attack.
  • Dikor chose to face Andrew, but Andrew vanished from his sight and trapped him under immense pressure, leaving Dikor unable to escape or attack.

Ch. 146Planning to build a power

Andrew captured Dikor and recruited him by offering Sovereign’s Might, then used an auction to sell four drops at enormous prices. The bidding inspired Andrew to consider opening a trading association to build wealth and strengthen his power.

  • Andrew captured Dikor in a single move, while Bloodflame Prefecture’s soldiers arrested other criminals and restored calm to Bloodflame City.
  • Andrew decided to build a powerful force, revived Dikor, and offered him one drop of Sovereign’s Might every hundred thousand years to join his service.
  • Dikor accepted Andrew’s offer after initially refusing to give up his freedom.
  • Andrew presided over the auction and offered four drops of Sovereign’s Might, drawing intense bidding from powerful buyers, including Miluo Island.
  • The first drop sold for thirty quadrillion Inkstones, prompting Andrew to consider opening a trading association to accumulate wealth faster.

Ch. 147Storming the Skyrite Mountains

Andrew took his family toward the Skyrite Mountains so his descendants could receive the Azure Dragon Clan’s baptism, while the Eight Great Clans’ forces surrounded the route. After Pusluo killed an Edric Clan patrol that tried to stop them, Andrew spotted a larger pursuing force and flew out to face it.

  • Ling'er persuaded Andrew to let her join the journey to the Four Divine Beasts Clan, and Han Yue supported her.
  • Andrew, his family, Pusluo, and Dikor set out from Bloodflame City in a golden dragon-shaped Metallic Lifeform.
  • As they neared the Skyrite Mountains, Andrew detected numerous Eight Great Clans scouts and warned his family to prepare for a fight.
  • An Edric Clan patrol blocked the Metallic Lifeform, and its leader shot at Pusluo after declaring that anyone connected to the Four Divine Beasts Clan must die.
  • Pusluo killed the leader and the other elves, and Andrew detected dozens of Edric Clan Metallic Lifeforms pursuing them.
  • Andrew spotted the Skyrite Mountains and the pursuing force, then left the Metallic Lifeform to confront them.

Ch. 148A meeting gift

Andrew confronted the Edric Clan’s forces on his way to the Four Divine Beasts Clan and overwhelmed their elder, Chabu. He captured Chabu after the elder’s escape failed, intending to bring him as a meeting gift.

  • Andrew crushed a Metallic Lifeform and killed the elves inside, prompting Chabu and more than two thousand Edric Clan warriors to confront him.
  • Chabu challenged Andrew, but Andrew overpowered him in their first exchange and crushed his left hand.
  • Chabu used Sovereign’s Might and Dance of Life, but Andrew broke free and drove him to flee while the other Edric Clan members scattered.
  • Andrew chased Chabu, broke his attempt to escape with a Divine Power cage, and left him trapped after his Sovereign’s Might ran out.
  • Chabu pleaded for forgiveness, but Andrew refused and declared that even the combined Eight Great Clans could not change their fate.

Ch. 149Confirmation, hope shattered

Andrew killed Chabu after the Edric elder attacked him, then arrived at the Skyrite Mountains and met Gaiseresen Redding. At a banquet, Andrew showed Gaiseresen the damaged Azure Dragon Ring, shattering his hope that the Azure Dragon was merely missing.

  • Andrew imprisoned Chabu after shattering half his body, but Chabu self-destructed and scattered green motes of light.
  • Andrew rejoined Han Yue, Ling'er, and the others near the Skyrite Mountains, then sent Dikor ahead to announce their arrival.
  • Gaiseresen Redding welcomed Andrew after learning that he had killed Chabu and accepted the Edric elder as a greeting gift.
  • Gaiseresen hosted Andrew and his family at a banquet in the Redding Clan's castle.
  • Andrew showed Gaiseresen the Azure Dragon Ring, and Gaiseresen recognized it as his father's and realized the Azure Dragon had fallen.

Ch. 150Intervening in the War

Andrew reclaimed the Azure Dragon Ring from Gaiseresen and declared that he would join the Four Divine Beasts Clan’s war against the Eight Great Clans. After learning that Bernistan had died in battle, Andrew met with the four clan leaders and asked for his juniors to receive a bloodline baptism, reaffirming his promise to help in the war.

  • Andrew told Gaiseresen he had found the Azure Dragon Ring in the Material Plane, and Gaiseresen asked him to keep its discovery secret before accepting his father’s choice and returning the ring to him.
  • Andrew told Blu he had come both to arrange bloodline baptisms for his juniors and to fulfill his promise to intervene in the war against the Eight Great Clans.
  • Blu told Andrew that Bernistan had been killed two years earlier when the Ashcroft Clan ambushed and wiped out his squad.
  • Andrew mourned Bernistan, poured wine onto the ground, and reflected that his old friend had died serving the Four Divine Beasts Clan.
  • Three days later, Andrew met with Gaiseresen and the other three clan leaders, then requested that his Azure Dragon-blooded juniors enter the Dragon Transformation Pool.
  • Gaiseresen agreed that the juniors could enter the pool when it opened in thirty years, and Andrew announced that he had come to join the war.
