Shinsei walked down the street carrying the Nine-Tails Fox, attracting curious glances from the surrounding villagers.
"Hey, that fox has nine tails! Could it be some kind of spirit beast?"
"That doesn't seem likely, does it? With Shinsei's strength, why would he need the help of a summoning beast?"
"It looks like Nine-Tails, could it be Nine-Tails?"
"Nonsense, Naruto is perfectly fine."
Shinsei smiled and nodded in response to the villagers around him, without explaining the origin of the Nine-Tails in his arms.
" Shinsei!" A girl's sweet voice reached Shinsei's ears. Without turning around, Shinsei knew it was Ino's voice.
Sure enough, at that moment, a warm body embraced her back.
"I haven't seen you for several days. Why are you being so mysterious every day?"
"Me? Of course I'm busy saving the world. I just finished fighting Madara Uchiha a couple of days ago."
"Wow, you're so amazing." Ino exclaimed in admiration. They were the same age, but Shinsei had already become one of the strongest Shinobi World, while she was still taking on small tasks like catching cats and dogs with her teammates.
"Hey, is that a puppy in your arms?" Ino leaned closer, observing the bewildered fox in Shinsei's arms. "This fox has nine tails!"
"Pah! You're the dog! I am the legendary Nine-Tails- Tailed Beast!" Upon hearing Ino's words, the Nine-Tails struggled violently in Shinsei's arms. If it weren't for its lack of strength, it would have swung its tail at the girl's face.
"Huh? The puppy can talk? Is it a new breed bred by Kiba Inuzuka's family?" Ino no longer believed its claim of being the Nine-Tails. Naruto being Jinchūriki was no secret.
"I'm going to eat you!" The Nine-Tails ' fur bristled instantly, its nine tails thrashing wildly, Chakra surged from its body. In the next instant, black runes appeared all over its body. The powerful Chakra retreated back into its body; the seal specifically designed to target it was not so easy to break.
"It is the Nine-Tails, but only a part of Nine-Tails," Shinsei explained. Since he dared to bring it out, he wasn't afraid of revealing the Nine-Tails ' identity.
Now, apart from Madara Uchiha, no village dares to provoke Konoha. Moreover, the Nine-Tails ' body contains Shinsei's Flying Thunder God Sign.
Girls all love fluffy animals. Ino saw that Nine-Tails seemed harmless, so she immediately took it from Shinsei's arms and stroked its head.
"I'm not a dog, stop right now!"
Unfortunately, the more the Nine-Tails Fox's fur stood on end, the cuter it looked. Ino's eyes crinkled into crescent moons with laughter, and her right hand stroked its head with increasing ease.
"So cute!" Ino said with a smile. "Can I take it home and play with it for a couple of days?"
Shinsei shook his head. "No, although it looks cute, it is still a clone of the Nine-Tails, and it's still very dangerous."
Ino's eyes lit up. Oh right, this doesn't seem so bad. At least she'd have an excuse to go to Shinsei's house to play with the fox.
Father Ōkuma was sitting in the convenience store, wearing glasses and reading a newspaper. He wasn't old at all, but he acted like an old man.
Seeing Shinsei walk in carrying a strange fox, he put down his newspaper and leaned closer to ask, " Nine-Tails?"
"Not bad, Father, you recognized me at a glance?"
Ōkuma chuckled, "The people of Konoha probably all have a deep impression of this guy."
Shinsei knew his father was referring to the Night of the Nine-Tails, but he was still an infant at that time and had no recollection of it, even as a transmigrator. He spent his days sleeping and nursing in a daze. Even his memories of his past life gradually returned when he was almost one year old.
"Oh, right," the father looked up and said to Shinsei, "We won't be eating at home tonight."
"Where are we going? Is Father planning to treat us?" Shinsei asked with some curiosity.
Ōkuma quickly waved his hand, "Don't even think about my little bit of savings." He said seriously, "Your grandfather's health isn't very good, I'm afraid..."
Ōkuma didn't finish speaking, but Shinsei already understood what he meant. His grandfather's health had been deteriorating over the past two years, but he refused to actively seek treatment.
Shinsei always kept a vial of cell fluid on hand, which could repair his grandfather's hidden injuries. Although it wouldn't significantly help his lifespan, it would at least allow him to live peacefully for another two years.
But the stubborn grandfather resolutely refused treatment, and even asking his teacher Tsunade to intervene couldn't persuade him.
Now he often stays home alone, calling out his grandmother's name to the air.
He really wanted to leave.
Some people pursue immortality, while others don't want to live. The meaning of life is different for everyone. Perhaps for my grandfather, only his grandmother, whom he never met, was the true meaning of his life.
Riya, the mother, came downstairs carrying a large bag of groceries. She had overheard the father and son's conversation. "Come on, Shinsei, try to persuade your stubborn grandfather too."
After locking the door, the family of three walked along the streets of Konoha towards the grandfather's house.
Pushing open the gate to his grandfather's courtyard, he saw the old man sitting in a wicker chair, holding a fan. Upon seeing Shinsei, a smile spread across his face, and he extended his right hand, beckoning to Shinsei: "Ahem, is this Nine-Tails?"
Shinsei squatted down next to his grandfather and replied, "Yes, this is the Nine-Tails!"
The old man sighed deeply, "You have become very powerful, far beyond my expectations. I originally thought you would only ever be a Jonin, but I never imagined you would be so close to Lord Hashirama."
Seeing you like this, I feel relieved Earth Flow. Cough cough...
Shinsei gently patted his grandfather's back. "I still want to get married and have children, so you'll have to help take care of them."
"Cough, cough! I can't wait until that day, and I don't want to wait any longer. Your grandmother has waited too long." He gripped Shinsei's hand tightly, his eyes sharpening again. "Promise me you won't do anything unnecessary, okay?"
Shinsei's words caught in his throat. He didn't know how to comfort his grandfather.
Riya, the mother, turned away and secretly wiped away her tears.
"Alright, you've come and seen enough, now go back and let me have some peace and quiet."
Father Riya knelt down and steadied his arm. "At least let us eat."
"Leave your things, you can leave. I'm not so old that I can't cook."
The group exchanged bewildered glances, all looking troubled, completely unsure how to persuade the stubborn old man.
On the way home, Shinsei couldn't help but ask his mother, "Mother, what kind of person was Grandma that Grandpa couldn't let go of her like this?"
The mother Riya, looked on with a look of reminiscence, then shook her head and said, "I don't have much memory of your grandmother either; I was very young when she passed away."
In another Shinobi World, my grandmother has also passed away. It's truly a pity that she couldn't meet the person my grandfather was devoted to through life and death.
And what about myself? Will I also meet someone who will haunt my dreams?
