Uya did not need to fill anything out.
His information had been entered directly into the document. This was practically compulsory conscription.
Uya had not seen this coming.
Hiruzen Sarutobi had actually brought him straight into the Anbu!
Was this an attempt to win him over?!
Shaking his head, Uya's expression turned faintly indifferent again.
Unfortunately, he had already been abandoned once before. Even if they wanted to make amends now, how could that rift be so easily healed?
Still, faced with this Anbu acceptance notice, Uya really had no reason to refuse, much less the standing to do so.
"The Anbu... I really didn't expect this. I thought I could simply join Tsunade's team once this year's Ninja Academy students graduated."
Shaking his head slightly, Uya picked up the document and carefully read through it again.
It contained some detailed information about him.
This included information about his current combat capabilities, such as his ability to shatter B-rank Ninjutsu with a single punch and his strength being assessed as equivalent to an elite Chunin's.
In the bottom-right corner was Uya's identification number.
Beside the number were a few small words.
Reserve member.
Only on his second reading of the document did Uya notice those words.
A trace of surprise appeared on his face.
A reserve member?
Full members of the Anbu all had code names. No wonder he only had a number and no code name-he was merely a reserve member.
Still, Uya felt nothing unusual about becoming a reserve member.
Even if he were somewhat stronger, he would probably still start as a reserve member upon joining the Anbu.
There was too much to familiarize himself with in the Anbu, such as various codes, methods of exchanging information, and so on.
Every qualified Anbu member had to spend some time familiarizing themselves with these things before they could handle Anbu work.
Full Anbu members were extremely busy.
By comparison, reserve members had a much easier time.
Moreover, becoming part of the Anbu came with many benefits, whether one was a full member or a reserve.
They were all recorded in this document.
First, all equipment used for training would be provided free of charge!
The Anbu were the forces directly under the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi-the core force at the Hokage's disposal.
As Hokage, how could he possibly not direct more resources toward the Anbu?
Even reserve members could receive whatever equipment they needed, and could even request custom-made items!
Of course, that was only the first point.
The second was unrestricted access to all Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu recorded by Konoha at B-rank and below, including B-rank itself!
Simply put, all B-rank and lower Ninjutsu were open to Anbu members. They could learn whatever they wanted!
This point alone made countless ninja eager to join, despite how busy and dangerous an Anbu ninja's work was.
After all, B-rank Ninjutsu were generally techniques that elite ninja-the backbone of their forces-would spend their entire lives studying and practicing.
Moreover, even among B-rank Ninjutsu, there were differences in strength.
Naturally, the power of a B-rank Ninjutsu cast by an ordinary ninja was entirely different from one cast by Hiruzen Sarutobi.
In Uya's view, the power of B-rank Ninjutsu could be divided into three tiers.
Low, middle, and high.
During his earlier fight with Uchiha Kan, all the B-rank Ninjutsu Uchiha Kan had used were merely low-tier, and Uya could easily shatter them with one punch.
But if a Jonin who had spent years mastering B-rank Ninjutsu and developed powerful Chakra Nature Transformation used them, those B-rank Ninjutsu would be at least middle-tier.
Uya might not currently be able to shatter a middle-tier technique outright with one punch, but blocking it and matching it evenly would be no problem.
As for high-tier...
People such as Hiruzen Sarutobi in his prime or Kakuzu of the Akatsuki in the original story could unleash B-rank Ninjutsu with outrageously powerful results!
They could even approach or rival the power of A-rank Ninjutsu.
A-rank Ninjutsu cast by someone like Madara Uchiha could even surpass ordinary S-rank techniques!
At present, Uya would still have some difficulty contending with high-tier B-rank Ninjutsu.
Now, however, Uya had obtained Tsunade's Monstrous Strength.
If he could master Monstrous Strength and combine it with the Power of Tremors, he should be able to sweep aside even high-tier B-rank Ninjutsu with a single punch!
Only then would he truly be able to sweep aside all B-rank Ninjutsu.
"Whatever the case... I'll report to the Anbu as instructed first, then start training in Monstrous Strength."
After finishing the document, Uya murmured to himself.
At the end of the document was an instruction for him to choose a day to report to the Anbu.
Besides, even without that instruction, Uya would have paid the Anbu a visit.
Although ordinary B-rank Ninjutsu were of no use to him, he did want to look through their Taijutsu.
Moreover, some supplementary techniques, such as the Shadow Clone Technique, were quite useful as well.
As for A-rank Ninjutsu and the S-rank secret arts above them, those were recorded in the Scroll of Seals, which ordinary people had no right to read.
Of course, that did not mean Anbu members were all barred from reading it. Those who earned sufficient merit, or who truly possessed talent in some area and caught the higher-ups' attention, were also eligible to learn A-rank or even S-rank Ninjutsu.
However, A-rank and S-rank Ninjutsu were both extremely difficult to master, and not something ordinary people could learn easily.
Not everyone was Kakashi Hatake, Naruto, or Sasuke.
Even some powerful Jonin had not mastered any A-rank Ninjutsu.
He left his home.
Uya made his way to a secluded spot in Konoha, then once again headed beneath the village.
Konoha's Anbu were also located underground.
Their base was almost directly beneath the Hokage Building!
Moreover, passages connected it to the Hokage Building, allowing Hiruzen Sarutobi's orders to be easily relayed to the Anbu at any time.
Being underground, the Anbu's quarters were dark and gloomy.
Yet an intangible air of grim killing intent hung over the place.
From time to time, masked Anbu wearing black or white cloaks hurried past.
Some were a little curious about Uya and gave him another glance, while most ignored him and walked straight past.
Nearly all of these people were elite ninja who had truly survived countless deadly battles!
They were essentially focused on nothing else.
Continuing farther inside, Uya soon entered the building at the center of the Anbu base.
At last, someone walked up to Uya and asked in a low voice, "Uya?"
"Yes."
"Follow me."
This Anbu member, who also wore a mask, spoke with extreme brevity and clarity, immediately leading Uya through the Anbu building.
"Over there is where missions are issued and handed over."
"Over there is where you order custom ninja tools and training equipment. Everything is free."
"Over there is the storage room for scrolls of various Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu. You may consult them freely."
After leading Uya around the Anbu base, the Anbu member briefly introduced him to several departments.
Only then did Uya finally gain a thorough understanding of the Anbu.
Although he had known about this organization from the original story, what he had learned there naturally could not compare with what he learned by joining it himself.
