Background / History
The original Lu Chi
The Lu family's nanny, Li Chunhua, abducted Lu Chi when he was three months old, using a vaccination appointment as her excuse to take him away. Acting at someone else's instigation, she abandoned him in a remote location. A childless scrap-collecting couple found him and raised him as their son; his adoptive father's surname was also Lu 1.
His adoptive parents prioritized his food and clothing even when they went hungry or cold themselves. Both died in an accidental car crash when he was sixteen. Before returning to his biological family, Lu Chi attended Guoqing Middle School, where he ranked among the best students 1 3.
Transmigration and the original plot
The current Lu Chi previously struggled as an obscure entertainer. After entering the novel's world, he learns from Guagua that he has taken the role of the Lu family's lost biological son. Lu Yuanqing and Pan Feng find him in a slum alley and present paternity reports confirming his identity 1.
In the original storyline, the reborn adopted son, Lu Jiyang, repeatedly framed Lu Chi, destroyed his reputation, and ultimately lured him to his death. Lu Jiyang remembers the original Lu Chi as submissive, eager to please his family, and unwilling to resist mistreatment. The transmigrated Lu Chi instead recognizes him as an enemy from their first meeting 1 3 24.
Knowing the danger, Lu Chi initially asks for money so he can live independently rather than return home. He eventually accepts his parents' invitation, attracted by the family's wealth but determined not to repeat the original owner's fate 1 3.
Appearance
Lu Chi is tall, handsome, fair-skinned, and clean-cut despite his impoverished upbringing 1.
- Height: Over 1.8 metres 24.
- Build: Strong and sturdy, with a more robust physique than Lu Jiyang 24 49.
- Physical foundation: Exercised daily with his adoptive father while growing up 24.
Personality
Lu Chi is irreverent, sarcastic, and openly attracted to money and comfort. His ideal life involves leisurely meals, naps, games, and enjoying the mansion rather than struggling through school. He frequently complains to Guagua about having to prepare for the college entrance examination after finally becoming wealthy 4 8 13.
He refuses to imitate the original owner's submission. Instead, he deliberately turns his enemies' tactics against them, combining provocation, staged vulnerability, and recordings. He is willing to injure himself to make a performance convincing and eventually decides that driving Lu Jiyang out is safer than continually avoiding him 3 24.
His caution coexists with calculated risk-taking. Before entering Zhang Yong's hideout, he calls the police, questions whether his driver can be trusted, and arranges a contingency if he fails to return. Nevertheless, he intervenes before help arrives when Lu Sangning faces imminent assault 46 48.
Although he initially treats the Lu family as a dangerous place to escape, his parents' kindness changes his priorities. He resolves to prevent their deaths rather than simply take their money and leave. His rescue of Lu Sangning combines concern for her safety with a desire to protect the family's businesses and gain an ally among his sisters 43 46.

- Advance warnings: Reveals Lu Jiyang's planned juice-spilling accusation and his arrangement with Li Bingqing 5 27.
- Hidden information: Exposes Zhang Yong's intentions toward the Lu fortune and secrets within Su Yunian's family 6 22 36.
- Situational guidance: Checks the mansion for surveillance cameras, locates Lu Sangning, and warns Lu Chi when his father or the police are approaching 24 46 47 50.
- Academic assistance: Supplies a vector-problem answer that Lu Chi repeats correctly despite not understanding the lesson 13.
Overheard Inner Voice
Several people can hear Lu Chi's unspoken thoughts, allowing information he discusses privately with Guagua to reach those around him 1 5 13.
- Known listeners: His parents, his five older sisters, and Su Yunian hear his thoughts at different points 1 4 5 7 13 38.
- Disclosure restriction: Listeners cannot freely explain the phenomenon. Attempts to mention it aloud or type about it are obstructed, including by buzzing that replaces their words 5 18.
- Range and attention: Su Yunian deliberately sits within listening range, while distracted family members can miss his thoughts 18 46.
- Unintentional warnings: His inner conversations alert others to threats, including the plot to tamper with Xie Qing's car 22.
Acting and Counter-Deception
Lu Chi uses his previous acting experience to stage convincing displays of fear, injury, and helplessness 13 24.
- Pretends Lu Jiyang pushed him during their first meeting 3.
- Makes a confrontation with three classmates appear to be a beating as education officials pass the classroom 15.
- Beats Lu Jiyang while audibly begging for mercy, then uses a recording to expose Jiyang's stated intention to frame him 24 25.
- Covers himself in dust and plays the victim immediately before police enter the factory 50.
Combat
Before acquiring a system skill, Lu Chi's stronger build and exercise background allow him to overpower the pampered Lu Jiyang. However, he lacks formal martial arts training and initially considers himself incapable of confronting professional bodyguards 24 46 48.
After obtaining beginner combat power:
- Fighting techniques become immediately accessible without training, operating like muscle memory 50.
- He punches through a wooden bathroom door and defeats Zhang Yong's seven bodyguards 50.
- He reacts to simultaneous attacks, blocks a throat-grabbing technique, and incapacitates opponents with punches and kicks 50.
- Guagua states that the skill can handle twenty bodyguards of ordinary combat ability; the demonstrated fight involves seven bodyguards and Zhang Yong 50.
Singing and Performance
Singing is one of Lu Chi's established skills from his previous life. He enters The Voice of Huaxia intending to outperform Lu Jiyang despite outwardly pretending to lack confidence 36 49.
- Performs “Common Jasmin Orange,” presented as his self-written song 44.
- Advances to the next round while deliberately concealing much of his ability 44.
System Mall Access
Lu Chi earns Gossip Coins by discussing other people's gossip; the amount depends on the significance of the information. Yuan can substitute for Gossip Coins at a one-to-one rate 49.
- The mall offers appearance enhancements, physique upgrades, combat skills, medical skills, and supernatural abilities; only beginner combat power is documented as acquired 49.
- Guagua admits to secretly taking some of his earned Gossip Coins and arranges credit for his emergency purchase 49.
- Higher combat tiers are named intermediate, advanced, boss-level, and god-level. Lu Chi has not reached them in the supplied chapters 50.
