When Morris arrived at the Headmaster's Office, he found it very lively.
Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, Ludo were all present, and even Fudge and Crouch were there.
Barty Crouch Jr. Crouch.'s body lay in the center of the room, with Mr. Crouch standing motionless beside him, staring blankly at his son like a statue.
Without a doubt, they were all there because of what happened last night.
Morris walked in calmly, and everyone's eyes naturally turned to him.
"They're here," Ludo was the first to stand up, asking urgently, " Morris, is it really the Death Eaters you captured?"
Dumbledore has clearly already explained the situation.
"Yes." Morris nodded.
"This is very strange," Fudge frowned. " Barty Crouch Jr. Crouch Jr., that man should have died in Azkaban more than a decade ago! How did he come back to life?"
He looked at Morris, as if hoping to find the answer from him.
However, Morris simply shrugged, "I have no idea."
First, we can rule out that he did it, because he was still playing in the mud more than ten years ago.
Just then, the sound of the door being pushed open rang out again.
Another person entered the room; it was none other than the real Moody had fallen into a coma yesterday.
Moody has had his prosthetic eye and limbs retrieved, but he appears to be in poor condition, pale, and his healthy eye is sometimes clear and sometimes unfocused.
After Barty Crouch Jr. died, the Imperius Curse on his body was automatically lifted, but the aftereffects remained, requiring a long period of rest to fully recover.
Fortunately, compared to the Cruciatus Curse, the Imperius Curse's aftereffects are not severe; at most, it may cause some mental confusion.
" Moody!" Professor McGonagall looked at him with surprise, "You're alright?"
"I'm fine," Moody's voice was hoarse and sounded strained. "I thought I was needed here, so I got the password to the Headmaster's Office from the school doctor."
Dumbledore turned to Moody and said gently, "I'm sorry I can't let you rest right away, Alastor. Tell me, what happened to you?"
Moody stared at the ceiling for a while, as if organizing his memories.
"I was attacked," he finally said, "Shortly after receiving my offer of employment at Hogwarts."
"Was your attacker Barty Crouch Jr. Crouch Jr.?" Fudge asked immediately.
"I think so," Moody continued, "And Wormtail, Peter, that escaped criminal, I saw his face in the chaos. They attacked me together... Perhaps retirement has made me too careless; they wouldn't have succeeded before."
Fudge sighed. "Okay, I understand."
Moody's answer still didn't resolve his biggest question—how did Barty Crouch Jr. Crouch Jr. get out of Azkaban?
Fudge turned to Crouch, who had remained silent. " Barty, you really didn't know your son was alive? And that he'd come out and attacked Moody?"
In his view, as Barty Crouch Jr..'s father, Crouch should know some inside information no matter what.
Crouch's expression was very somber and sorrowful.
"I don't know," he shook his head and said slowly, "In fact, I was also afflicted by the Imperius Curse not long ago. I've been trying to break free. Other than that, I know nothing."
Filial piety and parental love were the only words that came to Morris's mind.
Using Imperius Curse on one's own father... Is he really his biological son?
After listening to Crouch's words, Fudge fell into deep thought.
Crouch may be lying.
But Barty Crouch Jr.. is dead, and no one has any evidence to prove it.
" Cornelius," Dumbledore suddenly spoke, "What do you think Barty Crouch Jr..'s purpose was in coming to Hogwarts disguised as Hogwarts Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor?"
"Nobody knows." Fudge rubbed his fingers together on the brim of his hat. "Maybe it was to create chaos, maybe it was to steal something. But he's dead."
Dumbledore was clearly not satisfied with his answer, shaking his head. "It's obvious there's a conspiracy involved."
Professor McGonagall suddenly looked up, her face turning deathly pale as if struck by a spell.
"It's Harry Potter!" she blurted out. "He wants Harry dead."
"That's not right!" Ludo interjected. " Harry's perfectly fine, isn't he? If Barty Crouch Jr.. wanted to kill Harry, he had countless opportunities, but he never did."
"So there's probably another purpose," Dumbledore said slowly, "Such as using Harry to resurrect Voldemort."
He spoke in a calm tone, but everyone present changed their expression.
Especially Fudge.
He stumbled back a few steps, his eyes widened, and the color drained from his face instantly.
"Don't joke around, Dumbledore!" He was very agitated, his voice trembling. "This is complete nonsense! You-Know-Who, he can no longer—"
"Yes," Dumbledore interrupted him, "It's just a guess."
He looked at Fudge with an expression that remained unchanged, as if he had seen right through him.
Morris felt that Fudge was somewhat overreacting.
Was it really necessary to react like this just because Voldemort was mentioned?
Fudge quickly calmed down.
"That's enough for now," he said. " The Auror will investigate later, and all the details will be cleared up. Barty, we can go back now."
Crouch looked up, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he just nodded.
He looked at the ground, his face tense, and said, "I need to deal with this body first."
"Go ahead," Fudge said.
Barty Crouch Jr.'s eyes were still open. After Crouch picked him up, his head slumped limply to one side, facing Morris.
Morris couldn't help but shiver.
Those bulging eyes were rather frightening.
Fudge and Crouch quickly disappeared through the doorway. Ludo seemed unwilling to linger either, giving a perfunctory greeting before leaving the office.
Morris, however, was in no hurry, eating a box of Sherbet Lemon that Dumbledore had placed on the table.
He needs to calm his nerves.
Professor McGonagall approached Dumbledore and whispered, " Fudge must be trying to keep this a secret."
The sudden resurrection of a Death Eaters should have died in Azkaban more than a decade later, and his subsequent invasion of Hogwarts, was undoubtedly a colossal scandal for the Ministry of Magic.
"Without a doubt," Dumbledore said with a hint of helplessness, " Fudge won't allow this to be made public. But that's not important. The most urgent thing now is that we must figure out Barty Crouch Jr. Jr.'s true purpose in coming to Hogwarts."
As he spoke, his gaze slowly turned to Morris.
What are your thoughts, Morris?
Morris, who was popping a Sherbet Lemon into his mouth, paused for a moment upon hearing this.
"Me?" He pointed to himself and shrugged. "I don't know anything."
He didn't want to worry about it.
