Voldemort waved his wand, and a red fireball flew into the center of the Inferi horde, exploding instantly.
The Inferi were torn apart and set ablaze by the shockwave, utterly defenseless.
All right.
Morris wasn't particularly distressed.
This was exactly what was expected.
It would be strange if Voldemort couldn't even handle these Inferi.
Oh, by the way, give that thing a try.
Morris squinted and took a pea-sized, jet-black bead from his pocket.
It is the Death Energy Crystal.
I wonder if Voldemort could handle this troublesome thing.
It's highly unlikely they'll die, since the opponent has Horcrux to save their life.
Even if it turns to ashes, it can come back to life.
Morris manipulated the remaining Inferi and other undead creatures to launch an attack, while simultaneously grasping the Death Energy Crystal and reaching out to Voldemort, uttering the Pain Curse.
Voldemort keenly sensed something amiss.
He waved his wand, sending the Inferi and Undead Unicorn flying, while simultaneously creating a transparent barrier.
Unfortunately, Morris's Pain Curse was very agile; it bypassed the barrier, took a detour, and entered Voldemort's body.
The effects were immediate.
Voldemort stumbled and began to tremble.
"What kind of magic is this?"
He spoke in a trembling voice, as if he were enduring immense pain.
Morris looked at the other person, his expression slightly surprised.
Is this all the reaction he got after unleashing his full power of Pain Curse?
An ordinary person would be rolling on the ground in pain after being hit like that.
However, the effects of this curse are far from over.
It's time for the Death Energy to take effect.
A few seconds later, the black spiderweb-like lines that symbolized death spread rapidly from Voldemort's neck to his entire face.
"How are you feeling?" Morris asked curiously.
Voldemort clearly sensed the abnormality in his body as well.
He raised both hands and touched his face.
This feeling...
"It's draining my life force," Voldemort's voice turned furious, his face contorted in rage. "Is this what you rely on, Morris Black?"
Morris did not answer, but calmly observed the Dark Lord before him.
What will he do?
Voldemort said nothing more and waved his wand without warning.
Avada Kedavra!
He didn't use Nonverbal Spell; instead, he clearly recited the incantation.
The green light was blindingly bright.
This time, Voldemort clearly didn't hold back; the Killing Curse reached Morris's face almost instantly.
Forget about Apparition, he didn't even have time to dodge.
Fortunately, he had even faster magic.
That is the Fixed-Point Teleportation.
Without warning, Morris vanished from the spot.
The Killing Curse missed its target and flew backward, its destination, by sheer coincidence, the house where Sirius and Lupin were hiding.
"Danger!"
Sirius shouted.
The house split in the middle and shattered into countless pieces in an instant, raising clouds of dust and debris.
Sirius and Lupin jumped down a second before the house collapsed. They rolled on the ground, covered in dust, but were not seriously injured.
"Where's Morris?" Lupin asked anxiously.
"He should be alright," Sirius replied, gazing intently at Voldemort not far away.
At that moment, Morris's figure reappeared before Voldemort.
He had just returned to the Ship in a Bottle using Fixed-Point Teleportation, and then Apparition back to the scene.
Although it's a bit troublesome, at least it can avoid most spells with flight paths.
The Killing Curse is no exception.
At this moment, Voldemort's face had more black markings, so dense that they almost covered his entire face.
If this is not dealt with soon, one can imagine what will happen.
Even Voldemort couldn't resist the corrosive power of Death Energy.
Compared to the last time he dealt with Lucius Malfoy, this time Morris used ten times more Death Energy.
It must be quite a tangy and refreshing experience.
Voldemort didn't want to continue the stalemate any longer.
He teleported to the two Death Eaters who had been left to the side, grabbed them by the shoulders, one in each hand, and vanished from the spot.
Morris didn't stop him—or rather, he couldn't.
That's how wizarding combat works; unless you set up Anti-Apparition Jinx beforehand, escaping is very easy.
Sirius and Lupin rushed forward upon seeing this.
"They escaped?" Sirius asked, his voice trembling.
"Obviously," Morris replied with some regret, "I can't keep him."
As he spoke, he recalled all the undead creatures present.
Let's take stock of the losses after the battle.
Lupin watched the Inferi disappear from the spot and couldn't help but ask, "These are dark creatures, aren't they?"
"Yes," Morris nodded, " Inferi, very evil dark wizard creations. I found a lot of them in an ancient ruin and controlled them. They're excellent cannon fodder."
"Desecrating a corpse is not a good thing," Lupin sighed.
"I don't think so," Morris shrugged. "Whether it's a human or another animal, a corpse is just a collection of flesh. Only the soul is a person's essence."
"That's not important." Sirius steered the conversation back on track, looking at Morris with disbelief. "You defeated Voldemort?"
Morris put away his bone helmet armor, his expression calm. "I used a little trick. If it were fair and square, I'm afraid I wouldn't have been able to do anything to him."
The trick he was referring to was, of course, Death Energy.
If we were to confront them head-on with magic... you have to understand that Voldemort was the man who used the Killing Curse as a basic attack.
He probably won't be able to hold on for long.
Voldemort couldn't kill him, but he couldn't do anything about him either.
This is the current situation.
"Meow!"
Just then, Frick and Guantou, who had Apparition away not long before, returned to the scene.
"It's over?" Frick looked around. "Where are Voldemort and those two Death Eaters?"
Morris explained what had just happened.
After hearing this, Frick rubbed his temples. "So, we didn't get anything this night?"
Morris did not answer.
He did get something – that half of the Ageless Stone.
But he didn't intend to say it.
The stone itself is the property of the Department of Mysteries, and he is a member of it.
Yes, that makes sense.
Morris decided to pocket the money himself.
Since it would be stolen anyway if placed in the Department of Mysteries, it's safer to put it in his Ship in a Bottle.
A few minutes later, the four returned to Grimmauld Place.
In the living room of Black's old house, Dumbledore was already waiting for them.
He looked at the Sirius and Lupin, and the slightly injured Frick, his expression grave. "You encountered the enemy?"
Sirius quickly explained the situation.
"You've encountered Voldemort?" Dumbledore frowned.
"Didn't you expect this, Professor?" Morris sat down on the sofa.
"If I had known, I would have gone with you myself." Dumbledore shook his head. "Unfortunately, I just went to investigate another place."
