Background / History

Bibi Dong rose from humble beginnings and became Qian Xunji’s disciple and Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden. Qian Xunji invested heavily in her training, including teaching her secrets of the Angel Clan. She subsequently fell in love with Yu Xiaogang, whose connection to the hostile Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan made their relationship unacceptable to their respective factions 12 296 335.

According to Yang Podi’s account to Qian Renxue, Qian Xunji sexually assaulted Bibi Dong and forced her to bear his child. After Qian Renxue’s birth, Bibi Dong became more calculating and concealed her resentment. When Tang Hao severely wounded Qian Xunji during the pursuit of Ah Yin, Bibi Dong killed and devoured her injured teacher in revenge. Qian Daoliu allowed this and supported her succession as Pope 335.

Spirit Hall publicly attributed its Pope’s death to the conflict with Tang Hao and declared war on the Clear Sky Sect. Bibi Dong personally led its forces, beginning a struggle that continued through her later reign 12 15.

Yang Podi nevertheless praises her strategic vision and ability to build an empire from comparatively modest beginnings 233 262 296.

Her authority rests on more than personal power. Spirit Hall’s elders, affiliated sects, and ordinary Soul Masters are willing to risk their lives and families for her. She also takes the deaths of her subjects personally, reacting with fury to Spirit City’s casualties upon completing her divine inheritance 309 394.

Her hatred of Qian Xunji and the Angel Clan complicates her feelings toward Qian Renxue. She repeatedly rejects reconciliation, yet hesitates to strike her daughter under the Rakshasa God’s influence and remains deeply affected by her letters.
