Arc 57The Demon Realm Battle

The Skeleton Alliance and its allies fought Rosalind, York, and the Blood Corpse Tide as the battle shifted with the arrival of Vanessa and the struggle over Whale Tail’s Holy Remains. The Holy Remains transformed into Snake Tail, and Divine Wings ordered Sailesi to retreat while an unknown voice challenged them.

  • Rosalind and Sailesi fought across the battlefield while Blood Corpses attacked the Skeleton Alliance, and Sailesi drew on Giant Arms’ power to break Rosalind apart.
  • Rosalind unleashed blood mist and Blood Worms, but Whale Tail intercepted the blood rain and tracked Rosalind’s resurrection before York ambushed her.
  • Divine Wings and Sailesi battled Rosalind and York as Wens and Hall formed a three-day covenant and prepared to charge out of the Demon Realm.
  • Vanessa plunged the Demon Realm into darkness, allowing York to kill Whale Tail and escape with her Holy Remains, while Rosalind used the darkness to recover and gather Blood Corpses.
  • Vanessa entered the battlefield, impaled York, and tried to escape with Whale Tail’s remains, but Ed disrupted the spatial rift and trapped her there.
  • Rosalind swallowed Whale Tail’s Holy Remains and transformed into a giant python, overpowering Sailesi and Divine Wings as Osmond fought his way inside her body.
  • Divine Wings killed Osmond and turned him into a weapon to strike the Holy Remains inside Rosalind, crystallizing her body, and Sailesi shattered it and found that Whale Tail had become Snake Tail.
  • Divine Wings ordered Sailesi to retreat with Snake Tail to the Sand Capital, but an arrogant voice challenged them.
Chapters 1401–1425 Vol. 15 Read

Ch. 1401Two supreme beings battle until the Great Dao is obliterated (?)

Rosalind and Sailesi fought a brutal battle, but Sailesi knew her strength and regeneration would eventually overwhelm him. He held back from unleashing more of [Giant Arms]'s power and waited for his allies to intervene, while [Divine Wings] prepared to ensure the alliance would not lose.

  • Rosalind and Sailesi exchanged attacks across the sky, land, and river as their bodies repeatedly recovered from damage.
  • Sailesi realized Rosalind's superior strength and regeneration would give her the advantage, especially once the million Blood Corpses arrived.
  • Sailesi considered releasing more of [Giant Arms]'s power but feared losing himself to the memories that came with it.
  • Sailesi decided to keep fighting until he could no longer hold out, trusting the two allies he had summoned to step in.
  • [Divine Wings] judged Sailesi an inadequate replacement for [Giant Arms] but resolved to prevent him from losing the battle.

Ch. 1402Just how new a Legend of the White Snake was this?

Ed, Balund, and Aiboke waited in hiding near the battlefield, suspecting that more factions had received Hall’s intelligence and might soon appear. As Sailesi and Rosalind fought amid a massive invasion, players watched and joked about what to call the spectacle.

  • Ed, Balund, and Aiboke watched the battle from a safe distance while the Great Labyrinth City's avatar observed through a mechanical eye.
  • Aiboke suspected that Hall had informed more than the Theocracy and Graycast Corridor, and Ed agreed that other grand dukes might be hiding nearby.
  • Blood corpses charged the Skeleton Alliance's defenses as Sailesi and Rosalind grappled across the river.
  • Players recorded the giant battle and argued over whether it resembled scenes from games and films.
  • One player proposed naming the recording 'New Legend of the White 〇nake,' prompting the others to question which version of the story it was.

Ch. 1403What Happened to the Supposedly Unwinnable Battle?

The Soul Returners were sent to the front line against the Blood Corpse Tide, where they discovered a skeleton soldier bearing a strange message carved into his bones. Meanwhile, Sailesi and Rosalind’s High Tier battle turned as Sailesi broke Rosalind’s body but began dissolving from his own damage, leaving both fighters locked in a desperate struggle.

  • A skeleton soldier warned the Soul Returners that the Blood Corpse Tide was approaching and ordered them to prepare for battle.
  • The Soul Returners laughed at the soldier’s bone carvings, photographed the message advertising a reward from [Easily Soluble in Water], and followed him toward the front line.
  • Rosalind coiled around Sailesi and snapped his Psionic Energy body, causing energy to spill from the break.
  • Sailesi abandoned his damaged lower body, anchored himself to Rosalind with his upper body, and twisted her with all four arms.
  • Rosalind convulsed and screamed, while players nearby suffered temporary deafness and continued watching the battle instead of focusing on the Blood Corpses.

Ch. 1404A guide to avoiding possession

Sailesi defeated Rosalind by tearing her giant body in half, but unleashing [Giant Arms]' power flooded him with memories and threatened his sense of self. As the skeletal soldiers rallied to his battle cry, Rosalind prepared a counterattack with the Devouring acid inside her many mouths.

  • The players finally heard the skeleton soldiers' calls for help and joined the battle against the Blood Corpses.
  • Sailesi used a burst of [Giant Arms]' power to snap Rosalind's body in half, then rallied the skeletal soldiers with his battle cry.
  • The power and memories of [Giant Arms] began overwhelming Sailesi, who feared losing his identity as his body changed.
  • [Divine Wings] sensed that [Nether Crossing] had used unfamiliar power and hoped he would remain in control of Sailesi's body.
  • Rosalind opened the mouths across both halves of her body and sprayed powerful Devouring acid at Sailesi.

Ch. 1405Once the Cutscene Ends, It's Time to Fight the Boss

Rosalind used her Authority of Devouring to digest her own body and weaken Sailesi, but he tore off and hurled her lower half toward the Skeleton Alliance’s camp for the waiting soldiers to attack. Players received a health bar for the damaged boss as Sailesi continued pounding Rosalind’s remaining upper half.

  • Rosalind made her body spew acid that corroded Sailesi’s Psionic Energy form.
  • Sailesi realized Rosalind planned to shed her lower half and decided to separate and throw it toward the Skeleton Alliance’s camp.
  • Sailesi hurled Rosalind’s lower half across the river, where Osmond ordered his troops to attack it.
  • Ed gave the damaged Rosalind a health bar, and nearby players cautiously advanced on the boss.
  • Sailesi slammed Rosalind’s upper half into the ground and punched it repeatedly as his strength ran out.

Ch. 1406Toothpaste-Squeezing Master Sailesi and Toothpaste Rosalind

Sailesi crushed Rosalind until she was near death, but she turned her body into blood and unleashed countless tiny Blood Worms. Her blood mist engulfed more than a thousand players and skeletons, corroding them as the battle took a sudden turn.

  • Sailesi squeezed Rosalind’s softened body, forcing her eyes to bulge out and burst under the pressure.
  • Rosalind turned the tissues inside her shell into blood and sprayed it through the holes left by her destroyed eyes.
  • The blood mist spread across the battlefield, and Rosalind used it to release Blood Worms that ate away at the players’ flesh.
  • The blood mist corroded the skeletons, while the trapped Soul Returner mercenaries suffered even more severely.

Ch. 1407"Megalophobia"?

After Rosalind’s blood mist revealed that she could revive by consuming fresh flesh, Sailesi destroyed her remaining body and called for help. Whale Tail raised and suspended a colossal wave over the battlefield, leaving the players stunned as he stood atop it.

  • Osmond ordered his troops to withdraw beyond the blood mist, which gathered into blood rain that could restore Rosalind if it reached fresh flesh.
  • Sailesi held Rosalind’s remaining skin as she spoke, then crushed her head and dispersed his Incarnation while calling for his allies to act.
  • A towering wave rose from the river and spread over the Skeleton Alliance’s camp, alarming the players and increasing pressure on the skeleton soldiers at the front.
  • Western Sharpshooter and Gill's Cuisine joked about megalophobia while the players watched the wave hang above them.
  • Whale Tail appeared atop the wave and halted it in midair.

Ch. 1408Why are they still hunting her down?

[Whale Tail] blocked Rosalind’s blood rain with a circulating water curtain and traced the blood flowing underground to find where Rosalind was rebuilding her body. She launched a huge frost sword strike at the battlefield’s corpse-strewn center to disrupt the resurrection and weaken Rosalind again.

  • [Whale Tail] raised a hemispherical water curtain that intercepted Rosalind’s blood rain and trapped the blood worms in violent currents.
  • The councilors decided to find Rosalind’s resurrected body and kill her repeatedly until she could no longer regenerate or could be captured alive.
  • [Whale Tail] used her preparations and perception of the underground water network to follow Rosalind’s blood toward the battlefield’s largest pile of corpses.
  • [Whale Tail] located Rosalind rebuilding herself beneath the corpse-strewn area and drew a bone that she formed into an enormous frost sword.
  • [Whale Tail] launched a lethal downward strike at the site of Rosalind’s resurrection.

Ch. 1409A perfect counter? How could there be such a coincidence?

[Whale Tail] froze the battlefield and interrupted Rosalind’s resurrection, but Grand Duke York emerged from her shadow and attacked her. [Divine Wings] used intense light to drive York away, leaving the players temporarily blind.

  • [Whale Tail] formed a giant ice greatsword and froze the liquids around her, interrupting Rosalind’s resurrection.
  • A drop of darkness spread across [Whale Tail]’s back, and York’s shadowy half-body emerged and wounded her.
  • York identified himself as Grand Duke York and evaded [Whale Tail]’s attacks by disappearing into the shadows.
  • [Divine Wings] urged [Whale Tail] to release her manifested form and unleash her sword’s full power.
  • [Whale Tail] followed his order, and [Divine Wings] illuminated the battlefield, forcing York to retreat into the shadows.
  • The players suffered temporary blindness from the intense light.

Ch. 1410Two-on-two fair competition (where's the fairness?)

Sailesi returned to help [Divine Wings] hunt Grand Duke York, who had badly wounded [Whale Tail]. [Divine Wings] shattered the frozen water curtain and unleashed blinding light across the battlefield, leaving York under immense pressure.

  • Sailesi decided to rejoin the battle because the Skeleton Alliance could not afford to lose all its councilors.
  • Sailesi used [Dream of Rebirth] to manipulate nearby skeleton soldiers, clearing a space around the soldier whose shadow concealed Grand Duke York.
  • Grand Duke York escaped [Divine Wings]'s beam with a shadow leap, but the targeted skeleton soldier was destroyed.
  • [Divine Wings] recognized York's powerful attack had left [Whale Tail] grievously injured and hiding in the river channel.
  • [Divine Wings] shattered the frozen water curtain into crystal fragments and formed a luminous sphere with his wings.
  • [Divine Wings] released a dazzling burst of refracted light, and Grand Duke York felt immense pressure for the first time in a thousand years.

Ch. 1411The Rosalind Buffet Is Now Open

Rosalind revived and joined York against [Divine Wings] and Sailesi, devouring blood corpses to restore her strength. The battle resumed with Rosalind and York working together, while [Divine Wings] faced the threat of their alliance.

  • York struggled to evade [Divine Wings]' scattered beams and called for Rosalind to emerge.
  • Rosalind burst from the ground, and York hid in her shadow.
  • Rosalind burrowed underground and devoured hundreds of blood corpses at a time to grow stronger.
  • York stayed hidden beneath Rosalind's body, supporting her while she took the role of main attacker.
  • [Divine Wings] dismissed the ice shards and faced the renewed battle alongside Sailesi.

Ch. 1412Th-th-th-there's another expert?

[Divine Wings] used Sailesi and [Whale Tail]'s true-blood tracking to locate Rosalind underground and blast away half her body. As Rosalind and York separated and the councilors prepared to strike again, Sailesi sensed that the second drop of true blood he carried—belonging to Wens—had turned cold.

  • [Divine Wings] recognized that Rosalind could emerge almost anywhere and asked [Nether Crossing] to find her.
  • Sailesi used Rosalind's true blood to create a blood worm that pointed toward her, while [Whale Tail] supplied repeated location callouts.
  • [Divine Wings] followed their guidance and blasted Rosalind as she emerged, destroying her head and half her body.
  • York left Rosalind's shadow and disappeared underground as Rosalind retreated more cautiously.
  • [Divine Wings] prepared to attack again while Sailesi sensed a chill from Wens's true blood.

Ch. 1413Brothers Who Stab Each Other in the Back

Grand Duke Hall tried to persuade Wens to cooperate against the resource crisis threatening the three Blood Corpse lineages. Wens agreed to help if Hall entered the True Blood Covenant, which would last three days.

  • Hall warned Wens that the Demon Realm’s dwindling resources and the growing power of the Eternal Domain and Graycast Corridor threatened their lineages with extinction.
  • Wens recalled that the lineages had been encircled after a failed battle and told Hall about the True Blood Covenant he had made with Rosalind and York.
  • Wens offered to help Hall if Hall agreed not to stab him in the back and entered the covenant.
  • Hall said he would surrender if any of them advanced, explaining that Vanessa had already taken a quarter of his True Blood and begun eroding his Authority.
  • Wens agreed to the covenant and said it would last three days.

Ch. 1414Even gangsters worship Lord Guan, so what's wrong with a grand duke worshipping the Tree God?

Wens and Hall swore a three-day True Blood Covenant, which Ed overheard through his Tree God ability and took as a sign that a major battle was coming. Wens then ordered his three dukes to prepare an all-out assault to break free of the Demon Realm, leaving his forces ready to kill everything in their path.

  • Wens and Hall each offered a drop of true blood and swore before the True Ancestor to cease hostilities for three days, with the Tree God named as witness.
  • Ed overheard their oath through his passive ability and suspected that Wens and Hall were planning something major in the Demon Realm.
  • Ed made arrangements at the Second Holy See, then went to Great Labyrinth City to find Balund and his brother as companions for the trip.
  • Wens summoned Bianchi, Ozilazis, and Lombardi, declared that the coming battle might be their last chance to escape the Demon Realm, and assigned the first two to fight beside him.
  • Wens ordered Lombardi to muster the Blood Corpse legion and kill every human, skeleton, Blood Corpse, and other living creature they encountered before charging out of the Demon Realm with him.

Ch. 1415I'm Tired of Saying There Are Still Experts Out There~

Sailesi learned that Wens was coming but chose not to warn anyone, while York evaded [Divine Wings] and slaughtered skeletons across the battlefield. As York fled, ordinary blood corpses called his name and promised him ten seconds of darkness.

  • Sailesi sensed Wens's approach through his true blood and decided to keep the information to himself.
  • [Divine Wings] continued suppressing Rosalind, while York refused to approach him and instead drew the enemy's attention elsewhere.
  • York split into twelve shadows and killed over a hundred skeletons before [Divine Wings] struck his former position with lightning.
  • York escaped into Rosalind's corpse tide, where an ordinary blood corpse called his name despite his speed.
  • More blood corpses called to York as he moved unpredictably, and one promised to bring him ten seconds of darkness.

Ch. 1416A true cricket-fighting enthusiast

York recognized Vanessa’s presence and waited for an opening while [Divine Wings]’ attacks slowed. In the Twin Kings Palace, Vanessa explained the vampires’ divided powers and predicted York would target the weakest; York then called on her for darkness as the Immortal King prepared to act.

  • York recognized the voice as Vanessa’s and hid in the darkness while watching for a gap between [Divine Wings]’ attacks.
  • Rosalind evaded the light cannons, and [Divine Wings]’ growing anger made his attacks slower, a change York noticed.
  • In the Twin Kings Palace, Vanessa told the Immortal King how the True Ancestor had divided the vampires’ powers and why York had once been the weakest.
  • Vanessa and the Immortal King reasoned that York would attack whoever seemed weakest, and Vanessa noted she might also have influenced Rosalind’s rationality.
  • York called to Vanessa for darkness, and she agreed before telling the Immortal King it was his turn; the Amber Dragon gathered his power.

Ch. 1417If You Suck, Practice More (in Your Next Life)!

York called on Vanessa to release decades of accumulated night over the Demon Realm, plunging the battlefield into darkness and giving him an opening to attack. As York began hunting, [Whale Tail] encountered him again at the riverbed and lost her right hand before she could fight back.

  • York called Vanessa for help as [Divine Wings] prepared another attack on Rosalind.
  • Vanessa unleashed the Twilight Capital’s accumulated nights, plunging the entire Demon Realm into darkness.
  • York spread his aura of death across the battlefield, triggering fear and preventing the gathered forces from coordinating against him.
  • York used the eight-second pause before [Divine Wings] could fire again to rush off and hunt his former prey.
  • [Whale Tail] noticed York’s shadow approaching on the riverbed and prepared to fight, but her right hand was severed without warning.

Ch. 1418Want a New Councilor? Try "Sand Capital" Recycling!

York killed Skeleton Alliance councilor [Whale Tail] and left her bones at the bottom of the river, prompting [Divine Wings] to unleash a burst of light while Sailesi pursued York. As the darkness neared its end, Vanessa entered the battlefield to kill one target and leave.

  • York silently dismantled [Whale Tail] in the darkness, killing her and leaving her bones in the riverbed.
  • [Divine Wings] learned of [Whale Tail]'s death, lost control, and tore open the darkness with a surge of light.
  • Sailesi spotted York and plunged toward the battlefield to confront him.
  • Vanessa emerged from her armor beneath the throne as the darkness counted down.
  • The Immortal King opened a spatial rift, and Vanessa entered the battlefield with orders to kill one target and leave.

Ch. 1419Eternal Domain, Land of the Dead

Aeldra changed the rules of the Eternal Domain, freezing its living inhabitants as they began to transform into monsters. In the Demon Realm, York escaped with [Whale Tail]’s Holy Remains while Rosalind held Sailesi at bay, leaving the Skeleton Alliance’s plan in ruins and [Divine Wings] preparing to act.

  • Vanessa, the King of Domination, plunged into a spatial rift as Aeldra waited in the Twin Kings Palace.
  • Aeldra altered the Eternal Domain’s rules, set time moving in the Twilight Capital, and froze its living inhabitants as their bodies began to degenerate.
  • When the Demon Realm’s darkness ended, Sailesi discovered York had escaped with [Whale Tail]’s remains.
  • Rosalind attacked Sailesi with her insect tail, and he realized she had used the ten seconds of darkness to recover and sweep up thousands of Blood Corpses of the Rosalind Lineage.
  • Sailesi recognized that the Skeleton Alliance’s plan had failed as York carried the Holy Remains farther away and [Divine Wings] prepared to unleash an attack.

Ch. 1420Savior of Innocent Animals

Sailesi was caught between Rosalind and York until [Divine Wings] struck York with a powerful beam, but a mysterious armored knight arrived and intervened. The observers suspected the knight was the King of Domination, who had come carrying Whale Tail's Holy Remains.

  • Sailesi struggled against Rosalind while York attacked from his shadow, severing Sailesi's right leg and stripping away some of his memories.
  • [Divine Wings] unleashed a concentrated beam that burned away half of York's body.
  • A blood-red lance fell from the sky and blocked [Divine Wings]'s beam, while York evaded the next meteor by turning into shadow.
  • An armored knight descended, took up the lance, and revealed that he carried Whale Tail's Holy Remains.
  • Balund, Aiboke, and Ed speculated that the knight was the King of Domination and joked about his supposed role as a knight who saved his blood kin.

Ch. 1421Winning and running is immoral

Vanessa captured York and manipulated Rosalind, Sailesi, and [Divine Wings] into pursuing the fish-tail Holy Remains while she prepared to escape with Aeldra. Ed recognized that Vanessa intended to leave the Demon Realm battle royale early, so he shut the spatial rift she planned to use.

  • Vanessa impaled York with her blood lance and forced him out of the shadow, promising to spare his life if he stopped resisting.
  • Vanessa used her words to influence Rosalind, then threw the fish-tail Holy Remains so Rosalind, Sailesi, and [Divine Wings] would rush after it.
  • Vanessa called to Aeldra and leapt toward the spatial rift, leaving York impaled on her lance.
  • Ed realized Vanessa was trying to escape with her gains rather than stay for the battle royale’s final circle.
  • Ed clenched his giant hand and forced Aeldra’s spatial rift shut.

Ch. 1422They Say One in Every Three People Has to Be a Sacrifice...

Vanessa was trapped on the battlefield when an unknown expert’s interference stopped her from escaping, while Ed maintained the disturbance and launched Project Calamity. As Rosalind gained the upper hand against Sailesi and [Divine Wings], [Divine Wings] appeared to consider a dangerous solution and called out to Councilor [Nether Crossing].

  • Vanessa failed to reopen a spatial rift because someone was interfering with the space around her, leaving her trapped with York impaled on her lance.
  • Ed continued the spatial disturbance from beyond the mountains, contacted Nuowa, and ordered him to commence Project Calamity.
  • Vanessa assessed the likely sources of the interference and realized she would have to remain on the battlefield until she found a way out.
  • Rosalind swallowed the "Whale Tail" Holy Remains, transformed into a giant python, and began overpowering Sailesi and [Divine Wings] while absorbing Blood Corpses through her tail.
  • Sailesi asked [Divine Wings] what they should do, and [Divine Wings] hesitated before addressing Councilor [Nether Crossing].

Ch. 1423The Council Seat Is Calling Me!

[Divine Wings] summoned Warlord Osmond and ordered Sailesi to retrieve a new Holy Remains after victory, while Osmond charged through Rosalind’s monstrous body to reach the councilor. The chapter left Osmond advancing into Rosalind’s maw despite her regenerating teeth and corrosive flesh.

  • [Divine Wings] told Sailesi they would abandon Whale Tail and instructed him to retrieve the new Holy Remains once victory was secured.
  • [Divine Wings] summoned Osmond, who rushed across the battlefield toward Rosalind’s body and put Warlord Palmer in command of his troops.
  • Lord Colin led skeletons and players in a counterattack against the Corpse Tide, while soldiers realized Osmond might become a new councilor.
  • Osmond struck Rosalind’s scaled body, but the wound transformed into a huge mouth that trapped him in a difficult fight.
  • Urged on by [Divine Wings], Osmond concentrated his psionic energy and hacked through Rosalind’s teeth, pushing deeper into her body despite the acid.

Ch. 1424If You're Hungry, Just Eat?

[Divine Wings] sacrificed Osmond to forge a sword from his body, then struck the Whale Tail Holy Remains inside Rosalind and triggered a devastating burst. Vanessa, unable to teleport away and with only four and a half minutes left in her peak state, considered how to extend it by looking at the York she had skewered on her lance.

  • [Divine Wings] rescued Osmond from inside Rosalind and asked him to merge with the Whale Tail Holy Remains to change the battle.
  • Osmond agreed, but [Divine Wings] killed him with his crystal-cluster greatsword and transformed his body into a weapon.
  • [Divine Wings] struck the Whale Tail Holy Remains inside Rosalind, unleashing an immense burst of energy within her body.
  • Vanessa reviewed her recent actions and realized that teleportation had failed, leaving her trapped on the battlefield with four and a half minutes of peak strength remaining.
  • Vanessa considered ways to prolong her peak state and looked at York, whom she had skewered on her lance.

Ch. 1425The Grand Duke's Death

Vanessa captured York as Rosalind fought the skeletal figures, but [Divine Wings] struck Rosalind with a crystal sword and turned her into a towering crystal statue. Sailesi recovered a new Holy Remains from Rosalind’s shattered body, and [Divine Wings] ordered a retreat before an arrogant voice challenged their escape.

  • Vanessa engulfed York in flesh and prepared to seize Rosalind as well if she could defeat her opponents.
  • [Divine Wings] struck Rosalind with a crystal-cluster sword, crystallizing her fully transformed body in an instant.
  • Sailesi shattered Rosalind’s crystal form and found a spine where the Holy Remains “Whale Tail” had been, discovering it had become “Snake Tail.”
  • [Divine Wings] ordered Sailesi to retreat with the new Holy Remains to the Sand Capital, leaving the battlefield to the Border Garrison Warlords.
  • An arrogant voice challenged [Divine Wings] and Sailesi as they prepared to leave.
