Geography and Environment
- Mountainous interior: Immortal mist surrounds mountains, cliffs, and abundant vegetation. Exotic beasts roam throughout the grounds 2 11.
- Immortal-resonance Qi: The interior contains exceptionally concentrated Qi, approaching a liquid state in places. It briefly stirs Taiyi’s long-withered vitality when he enters 8.
- Higher accommodation limit: Lu Qingyun judges that the court’s rules differ from those of the greater universe and that its upper limit is higher. He compares it to a place fallen from the immortal realm; this is his assessment, not a confirmed origin 37.
- Enriched core: Life essence released by Lu Qingyun’s Meteoric Tear further increases the concentration of essence in the central region 18.

Resources and Wildlife
- Ancient exotic beasts: The court shelters rare species from Desolate Antiquity that have disappeared from the outside world 2.
- Qilin-like beast: Taiyi encounters a horned beast shrouded in divine fire whose concentrated Qilin bloodline momentarily makes him mistake it for a pure-blooded immortal beast 8.
- Medicine kings: Plants more than ten thousand years old grow abundantly on cliff faces. Nourishment from immortal-resonance Qi brings their medicinal potency to its pinnacle 2.
- Immortal Divine Medicine: Lu Qingyun receives one after capturing the Golden-Haired Hou Supreme. Its original fruit is consumed in cultivating his immortal scripture; the plant remains in his possession afterward 5 27.
- Supreme remains: After draining the Golden-Haired Hou Supreme’s life essence, Lu Qingyun buries the unused portions of his imperial body throughout the court as fertilizer 5.
Governance and Entry Rules
Unlike the other eight great forbidden zones, where Supremes are residents occupying separate territories, the Immortal Court belongs entirely to Lu Qingyun. Taiyi recognizes that it has only one master and that other occupants are guests admitted to his domain 8.
- Permission is mandatory: Lu Qingyun’s founding edict threatens death for anyone entering without authorization 1.
- Hostile lingering is prohibited: After expelling Ye Mingyuan, Lu Qingyun warns that remaining around the court again will be treated as malicious intent and punished by execution 3.
- Admitted sealing residents must sleep: Taiyi is ordered to seal himself immediately, enter the deepest slumber, and retain none of his senses 8.
- Independent awakening is restricted: Residents may not awaken without permission unless an outside enemy invades. Lu Qingyun states that he will awaken Taiyi when needed 8.
- Loyalty is system-enforced: The Eternal Forbidden Zone System classifies beings who move into the court as the master’s subordinates and states that they can never betray him 8.
Defenses
Great Emperor Formations
The court contains extensive imperial Dao formation patterns under Lu Qingyun’s absolute control 2 8.
- Lethal response: He can activate the built-in killing formations with a thought to slay enemies inside 8.
- Protected seclusion: During his second-life transformation, the supreme Dao formation activates automatically, excluding prying eyes and hostile influence 24.
- Sealed perimeter: The formations keep Ye Mingyuan outside during repeated visits over five hundred years 26.
Nine-Leaf Sword Grass Manifestation
The nine-leaf grass that emerges from the court is a manifestation of Lu Qingyun’s Nine-Leaf Sword Grass Precious Technique, rather than an identified independent guardian 11 12.
- Its sword intent stops Ye Mingyuan before he steps onto the perimeter formations 11.
- A single leaf slices away half his body and gravely wounds his soul as he retreats 11.
- Lu Qingyun later describes the attack as a mere wisp of sword intent 12.
Deterrence
- Supremes conducting a Dark Turmoil deliberately avoid Fallen Immortal Star because Lu Qingyun resides there 4.
- After Lu Qingyun defeats two Heavenly Emperor-level opponents in three punches, witnesses describe him as “one man, one forbidden zone” 33.
- A later Supreme considers the court so dangerous that he would not enter even if he knew Lu Qingyun had died inside 46.
History
Foundation and Abandonment of Heaven’s Mandate
Immediately after attaining the Dao, Lu Qingyun receives the Immortal Court from the Eternal Forbidden Zone System. Having previously been hunted by Supremes and doubting that his lifespan will last until the Road to Immortality opens, he chooses to establish his own forbidden zone rather than campaign against the existing ones 1.
He summons the court onto Fallen Immortal Star while the universe expects him to confront its Supremes. When he enters, the Heavenly Heart Imprint leaves his body and returns to the universe, vacating the era’s mandate. The decision plunges living beings into despair and leaves the other forbidden-zone Supremes uncertain of his intentions 1 2.
Early Prisoner and First Sealed Resident
Lu Qingyun brings the captured Golden-Haired Hou Supreme into the court and extracts his life essence over three hundred years. By calendar year 721, the captive has died within the forbidden land 5.
Taiyi later seeks admission because his deteriorating body requires a large quantity of Immortal Source Liquid for preservation. His successful sealing ends doubts that the Immortal Court is merely Lu Qingyun’s passing whim and establishes it publicly alongside the original eight forbidden zones 8 9.
Ye Mingyuan’s Visits
Ye Mingyuan repeatedly approaches the court, first seeking an explanation for Lu Qingyun’s withdrawal and later attempting to challenge him. His confrontation in calendar year 3,700 ends with the nine-leaf sword grass grievously wounding him 3 10 11.
In year 10,000, Ye brings Feng Zixue’s coffin and negotiates a three-move agreement. During the encounter, he gathers the forbidden zone’s life essence to live a second life, then escapes Lu Qingyun’s final attack with his principal wisp of divine soul. Feng Zixue’s coffin remains buried inside 18 19.
After another prolonged closure, Ye gains admission with a mysterious mountain taken from Chaotic God Mountain. He dissolves it within the court, revealing an incomplete stone tablet 26.
Intervention in the Forbidden-Zone Campaigns
In year 22,000, Lu Qingyun emerges while Ye Mingyuan and the Black Emperor attack Chaotic God Mountain. A system mission prompts him to halt their campaign in exchange for Immortal King-level True Phoenix blood essence; the two emperors had not targeted the Immortal Court itself 32 33.
Their defeat makes the court’s deterrent power unmistakable. When they resume their campaigns several thousand years later, however, Lu Qingyun remains inside and does not intervene 34 36.
The Heavenly Emperor’s Final Offering
In his twilight years, Ye Mingyuan enters the court and disappears from public view. The fading of his imperial Dao leads the universe to believe that he has abandoned his duty and become a forbidden-zone Supreme 42.
A thousand years later, he returns to confront Sheng Ying. His final resolve is to cast the Dao-attaining Holy Spirit into the Immortal Court as a promised gift. Neither emerges afterward, and the system recognizes the Heavenly Emperor’s offering as a milestone in the court’s development 43 44 45.
Endurance into Year 100,000
As the golden age recedes, later generations forget Lu Qingyun’s role in its history. By year 100,000, they know the Immortal Court chiefly as one of the nine forbidden zones, seemingly no different from the others 48.
Lu Qingyun remains within it and receives a complete Immortal King corpse as a survival reward. He keeps the corpse inside his Sea of Bitterness rather than exposing the universe to its overwhelming might 48.
