The village chief swallowed hard.
He first glanced at Shinichi, who was struggling on the ground.
Then she glanced at the original goddess in the distance, now only her feet remained.
Finally, he slowly let go of Delia.
However, this time Delia didn't rush over as eagerly as she had when she first saw Teiichi. Her small body trembled slightly as she looked at Teiichi with some fear.
She saw her older brother cut off the goddess's head, and now he's stepping on an old man in the village. She's too scared to come any closer.
Seeing this, Teiichi smiled gently at Delia and beckoned her with his hand.
" Delia, it's alright, come here!"
Delia seemed to sense the goodwill in Teiichi's words, and a hint of hesitation appeared on her small face.
She bit her lip, hesitated for a moment, and finally cautiously walked towards Teiichi Yi Nie Nie.
"Big brother, why are you here too?" Delia asked timidly, her head down.
Teiichi raised his hand and gently stroked Delia's face, saying:
"I've come to take Delia home!"
"Go home? Delia can go home now? Doesn't she have to serve the Mother Goddess anymore?" Delia suddenly looked up at Teiichi with surprise.
She was still young and didn't yet have the cruel understanding that being beheaded meant certain death.
"Yes!"
Teiichi smiled and nodded at Delia, then looked down at the villager named Shinichi whom he was stepping on.
After struggling Shinichi now, Shinichi seemed to realize that struggling was pointless, and now he lay motionless on the ground like a deflated balloon.
Teiichi glanced up at the village chief and another villager.
The moment they met Teiichi's gaze, they unconsciously lowered their heads.
Teiichi ignored them and gently picked up Delia, then started walking down the Yamashita.
Seeing that Teiichi had no intention of settling scores with him, the village chief finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He slowly raised his head and glanced at the spot where the goddess had just fallen. There was no trace of her body there now, as if nothing had happened.
Seeing this, the village chief frowned again, wanting to get angry but not knowing who to vent his anger on.
He then glanced at Shinichi, who was still lying on the ground, and his irritation intensified. He said somewhat angrily:
"Alright, Shinichi, get up already!"
However, Shinichi showed no intention of getting up; he remained lying motionless on the ground.
The village chief's brows furrowed immediately, and a hint of anger and dissatisfaction flashed in his eyes.
"What? Do you want me to help you up?"
This time, Shinichi's body finally showed signs of movement.
However, he didn't get up; instead, he lay on the ground, trembling, and words came out of his mouth in a sobbing voice.
"Village chief, the goddess has been killed! We're going back to those miserable days!"
The village chief was slightly taken aback upon hearing this, but his agitated mood instantly subsided.
He looked at Shinichi lying on the ground, opened his mouth as if to say something comforting, but in the end he just let out a long sigh.
The words reached Teiichi's ears, who hadn't gone far, Teiichi paused slightly.
He turned his head and glanced at the few people still standing there, a thoughtful look in his eyes. After considering for a moment, he slowly spoke:
"I'll talk to people about giving your village some support later. I can't say how much, but at least you won't be like you were before!"
Upon hearing this, the two standing men were slightly taken aback, seemingly unable to believe their ears. They quickly recovered and bowed to Teiichi, saying:
"Thank you, sir! Thank you, sir!"
Teiichi's gaze lingered on the group for a moment, but he didn't mention that he would call the police to settle scores with them later.
"Also, the remains of those children who were sent as sacrifices must be properly buried!"
The next day.
Teiichi, Kanae, and Nezuko walked along the winding road leading from Kuroishi Village to the outside world.
"Are we really sure it's okay if we just go straight like this?" Kanae asked hesitantly.
"Well, let the police bring them to trial!" Teiichi.
"Then... will Delia and her mother be alright? After all, it was their family's turn when the demon was killed!" Kanae asked with some concern.
"Don't worry, I had a friendly conversation with the people who saw me slaying the demon yesterday. They will protect the Delia family!" Teiichi replied.
Kanae nodded, pondered for a moment, and then said:
"How about I speak with the Master Master to arrange for the Delia family to move out?"
Teiichi hearing this, Kanae, then tilted his head back slightly in thought for a moment before saying:
"Yes, that's definitely a better way!"
"Hmm!" Kanae felt a little more at ease after receiving Teiichi's approval.
"By the way, what's the next one?" Teiichi asked.
"It's the World Purification Cult!" Nezuko excitedly raised her little hand high, eager to answer.
A faint smile appeared on Kanae's gentle face as she slowly began to speak about the mission of the World Purification Cult.
" The World Purification Cult is different from the other three sects mentioned this time."
"It wasn't discovered by the trading company affiliated with the Ubuyashiki Family, but by a member of our Demon Slayer Corps."
"During their missions, they discovered that the disappearances always pointed to that particular cult."
"Then, since the Master had issued a relevant notice, they didn't dare to go and investigate on their own, so they reported back."
"Them?" Teiichi asked, puzzled.
Kanae explained, "Yes, that mission was carried out by two team members together!"
Teiichi firmly, then slowly lowered his head, lost in thought about his own luck.
Two out of four have already been eliminated, so it shouldn't be the other way around, right?
Surely my luck can't be that bad?
Of course, that's another story if Doma doesn't end up joining one of these four sects.
" Inosuke!"
Nezuko's eyes suddenly lit up, and she waved and shouted happily into the distance.
Upon hearing this, Teiichi and Kanae instinctively looked up and gazed into the distance.
At the end of the road, a figure wearing a strange Boar's Head was rushing towards the three of them at breakneck speed.
As the distance between the two sides rapidly closed, Inosuke made a very dangerous sudden stop when he was close to Teiichi and the other two, coming to a steady stop about two meters in front of them.
Teiichi looked at Inosuke with some confusion. "Didn't I send Kasugai Crow to tell you that you didn't need to come?"
Inosuke said angrily, "Damn it! How dare you say that? I was only half a day away from coming, and you told me I didn't need to come! Why didn't you say so sooner?"
"Well... I can't do anything about it. I can't control when the ghost comes out. I can't just let the ghost come out and not kill it, or lock it up and wait for you to come and beat it up, can I?" Teiichi helplessly.
"I don't care about that, you have to compensate me with a ghost!"
Inosuke stood there, arms crossed, staring at Teiichi as if he wouldn't leave until Teiichi gave him a demon in return.
Teiichi, Ding Yi frowned slightly, and after thinking for a moment, tentatively asked:
"How about I play with you for a bit?"
Without hesitation, Inosuke waved his right hand in front of him, decisively refusing:
"No, I'm still a bit too far ahead of you right now. I'll challenge you when I feel strong enough!"
Wow, now you're starting to realize your place!
Teiichi muttered something to himself, but then his brows furrowed again.
So what do you want to do?
Inosuke's bright eyes slowly swept over Teiichi and the other two, and he asked:
"You haven't gone back to the Butterfly Mansion yet, have you?"
Teiichi seemed to realize something upon hearing this.
Are you coming with us?
Inosuke nodded seriously, raised one hand, and pointed his thumb at himself.
"That's right, leave the next ghost to me!"
