You Can't Attack Him!
Ciel clearly wasn't going to let Arcueid go. She was currently in a very weak state, and as the saying goes, strike while the iron is hot. When the enemy is weak, you have to go all out to make sure they can never get back up.
"Humans who cooperate with vampires are not within my protection."
Ciel immediately fired several Black Keys, not at Bai Mo and Arcueid, but at the west wall. A powerful surge of magic enveloped the entire room, and scriptures appeared on the walls, with a cross symbol in the center.
"May the Holy Spirit forgive your soul." After Ciel said these words, the barrier immediately began to unleash its power. It seems that Arcueid's actions were not exactly stealthy; perhaps she had not even considered hiding her tracks. Magecraft barrier had already been set up around this residence.
The pressure made Arcueid's expression grave, a bead of sweat trickling down her forehead and onto the ground. The barrier was about to unleash its full power, and Ciel would also launch an attack. Just as Ciel channeled his magic, Bai Mo sensed a familiar yet unfamiliar force.
However, just as the cross unleashed a powerful magical force that shot straight towards Bai Mo, an unexpected change occurred.
A beam of light suddenly appeared on Bai Mo's body. Under this light, the Magecraft of the cross instantly dissipated, even Ciel's movements slowed down, and the little nun at the door had an expression of disbelief on her face.
"Huh?! That was divine revelation? Is this guy a righteous person favored by God?"
Without sensing any error, the pressure of the barrier vanished instantly. Ciel's eyes widened in disbelief, and he shook his head, exclaiming, "How is this possible? Quickly, reactivate the barrier!"
But the next moment, her gaze froze, for Bai Mo slowly pulled another medal from his pocket— the Metatron Award, awarded to him by Metatron.
At this moment, the medal was shining with a pure white light, something that had never happened before. However, during the battle against the Supreme Heavenly King, when Jeanne d'Arc was defending herself from the attack, the medal played a role, as if it had truly been blessed by God. Since then, Bai Mo felt that this thing seemed to have changed.
Ciel gritted her teeth, grabbed a strange machine from somewhere, and was about to blast it at Bai Mo and Arcueid when the nun behind her grabbed her.
"No! Senior Ciel, if we lay a hand on a righteous person of the Lord, the Church will be furious."
"Don't joke around! He's now colluding with the True Ancestor! Whether it's true or not, we can't just sit idly by. Besides, this opportunity won't come again if we miss it!" The once imposing Ciel was now acting like a comedic character.
The little nun clung tightly to Ciel's waist like a koala, crying and snot streaming down her face, "You can't do this! You can't! Even if the Burial Agency doesn't pursue it, those old fogies in the Church will never let us off the hook. That kind of light can't possibly be a fake!"
My ancestors! With this one cut, my retirement is over!
The young nun sacrificed everything for a carefree retirement forty years from now. She was exploited every day and fought against all sorts of monsters and scoundrels. What was she after? Wasn't it all for a good retirement?
With that one blow from Ciel, forget about retirement; she'd be lucky if the Church didn't put her on trial. You're the Executor of the Burial Agency, you have someone to protect you, but I'm just a lowly worker!
Attacking righteous people is heresy!
Arcueid watched the farce unfolding before him with curiosity, then his gaze shifted to the Metatron Award in Bai Mo's hand.
"What's that? Can I see it?"
Arcueid looked innocent and naive, while Bai Mo casually tossed the Metatron Award into her hands.
Seeing this, Ciel roared, "What are you doing! How dare you call yourself a righteous person of the Lord? You actually allowed that kind of thing to be defiled by a vampire! You're definitely a fake!"
Bai Mo gave Ciel a sympathetic look and said, "First of all, I'm not Christ. Secondly, whether you believe it or not, this thing was given to me by Metatron, and in terms of heresy, she's no better than Arcueid."
Arcueid curiously fiddled with the medal in her hand, then looked at the impotently furious Ciel beside her. Arcueid put a hand to her lips, as if suppressing a laugh, with an expression that said, "I love seeing you so angry, yet unable to do anything about it."
"How interesting. If I had this, would I be considered Ciel's boss?"
Arcueid's words made Ciel's eyes practically spit fire, his back teeth chattering, but it was the little nun who was desperately trying to stop her who suffered.
Finally, Ciel had no choice but to give up, tossing her nun's habit aside as she prepared to leave. Just as she was about to go, Bai Mo asked, "Hey, where does your power come from?"
Upon hearing this, Ciel remained expressionless, but it was clear that she was in a bad mood.
"This has nothing to do with you, you fake righteous man. And let me warn you, this woman is no docile animal. Be careful she doesn't gnaw you clean while you're sleeping!"
Leaving those words behind, Ciel took to the air and flew away, leaving only Arcueid shouting his rebuttal in the sky.
After the farce, Arcueid sat back on the bed, the joy she had just experienced seemingly vanishing in an instant. Noticing her disappointment, Bai Mo sat on a chair beside her, quietly waiting for her to speak.
"I... I might not be able to take you there with my current strength."
Arcueid, like a kitten abandoned in a cardboard box, said in a low voice, "My power is too weak now, and I don't even know when I'll fall into slumber. It's terrible. If Bai Mo weren't here..."
Something soft hit her on the head; it was the bread Bai Mo had bought.
"Don't look like you're about to give up. You're still awake, right? If you don't have enough strength, find a way to replenish it. If you have any ideas, tell me now."
Bai Mo looked at Arcueid's dejected appearance, still pondering what had just happened to Ciel. There seemed to be a force within her, somewhat like Magnetic Field Power, yet fundamentally different.
"Hmm... I was once tricked out of a portion of my power by a man named Roa. He should be Dead Apostle now, hiding in this city. If we can defeat him and reclaim that power, maybe there's still a way."
However, given my current situation, let alone defeating Roa, I might even have a hard time dealing with his ordinary retinue.
"I see. No wonder you attacked me without saying a word when you met me." Bai Mo understood. It seemed that Luo Ya was different from the original world's Roa. This world's Roa had realized the limits of humanity and given up on being human.
"Can we please not talk about this? I hate my past self now," Arcueid pouted.
"But there's a way. You're in charge of finding that Roa, and I'll handle the fighting. Can you hold out for a while? If not, we'll have to think of another way."
Bai Mo's words made Arcueid look up. Facing that clear gaze, Bai Mo said somewhat helplessly:
"That's all we can do. After all, I still need your help to get back. And I bear some responsibility for how you've ended up like this. This is the only way I can solve your problem."
Arcueid looked like a struggling student in an advanced calculus class. After a long pause, she belatedly asked, "So, you'll be helping me during this time?"
"That's right."
"That's great!"
The golden cat jumped up with joy, took Bai Mo's hand, and said with a beaming smile, "With Bai Mo's help, none of that will be a problem. I thought we were going to fail this time, but this is what humans mean when they say 'after the darkest hour comes the dawn.'"
The woman before him was surprisingly naive; she seemed to have never considered that she could use Bai Mo's request to blackmail him.
Looking at Arcueid, who had shaken off his dejection, Bai Mo couldn't help but sigh: This guy is so lonely.
In the distance, from a tall building overlooking Arcueid's residence, the black-haired princess watched Ciel and his party depart before turning her gaze back to Arcueid's room.
"They didn't do anything? That's good, it wouldn't be good if they accidentally damaged it. You're really lucky, my sister."
