Reason
As night fell in the city, Arcueid did not go to the cinema. Instead, she moved freely through the stairwells like a nimble cat, quickly heading in one direction.
"It's true... I used to feel like I had so much time, but now it feels like I have almost nothing left." She murmured to herself, feeling incredibly strange, and ran off in one direction.
Roa has begun to revive. As someone whose power was partially stolen, she can already sense her location. She should have made this clear long ago, but for some reason, despite having killing Roa as her sole objective, she has stopped paying attention to her these past few days.
I felt emotions I'd never experienced before, and now I never want to go back to those days.
It was only at the very end that I came to understand these feelings. I felt a little resentful, but there was nothing I could do about it.
When she learned about Roa's background from Altrouge Brunestud, she made up her mind to face Roa alone. But the next moment, Arcueid was moving quickly, seemed to bump into something and became instantly dizzy.
"What are you thinking, you idiot..." Bai Mo appeared in front of her and Arcueid up when she almost fell.
"Found it so quickly... So you weren't kidding me when you told me you could sense the whole city." Arcueid rubbed his head, and Bai Mo sighed speechlessly, "What's the point of teasing an idiot?"
"What?! Why are you suddenly so aggressive towards me? I didn't do anything!" Arcueid seemed a little aggrieved.
"You haven't done anything yet? You haven't recovered your physical body, only your fighting abilities! No wonder you dared to say those harsh words to Ciel. What are you thinking? The hospital doesn't have a neurology clinic for vampires."
Arcueid choked a little and turned his head away, somewhat embarrassed.
"Don't get involved in the upcoming battle. I'll handle those problems. Please go to sleep, okay?"
Arcueid can indeed use her previous powers to some extent now, but this power will also be a huge burden on her body. It's like a broken machine being filled with fuel; theoretically it can run, but in reality, it will most likely spontaneously combust and explode.
"No! Bai Mo, you're the idiot! Didn't you tell me it only has 500,000 units of power? Eighty is greater than fifty, isn't that an obvious fact?" Arcueid retorted. Hearing this, Bai Mo fell silent, then slowly said:
"You actually know the basic size of numbers? Are you an idiot?"
"Bai Mo!" Arcueid had guessed that Bai Mo would remain silent, defend himself, or admit it, but he never expected that his first reaction would be this.
After a bout of anger, Arcueid stopped acting up. She sat on the edge of the roof, looking down at the city below, and slowly said, "Bai Mo, you know me, right? I've been struggling with the Bloodsucking Impulse, and now, I feel like I can't suppress it anymore."
"I can only hold on for a few more days at most. After regaining my power, I'll send you back and then I'll have to go into slumber."
"That's a good thing. Idiots should talk less and sleep more."
Hearing Bai Mo's words, even Arcueid, who valued him highly, was furious. The big golden cat was so angry with Bai Mo that it was about to cry.
"I'm not going to sleep! This was supposed to be my last hunt for Roa. After it was over, I would fall into a deep sleep, and then it would be no different from death."
I'm dying! Can't you even show me a little bit of concern? I was prepared to fight Roa to the death and find a way to get you back!
"Why would you have such a thought?" Bai Mo's words left Arcueid speechless. For a moment, she wanted to explode with anger and fight him without thinking twice, otherwise she might be driven to death by Bai Mo before she fell into slumber.
The large golden cat bared her sharp claws; blood was about to be drawn!
However, just as she was about to lash out, Bai Mo pressed down on her shoulders, his eyes seeming to pierce through her soul. He said:
"Do you remember what I told you? If you're going to die, try to do something you enjoy. You like going to the movies, right? Then you should be enjoying your last moments instead of risking your life."
Arcueid was a little confused, and for a moment retracted its claws, asking, "But how are you going to get back like this?"
Bai Mo sighed softly and said, "Listen, Arcueid, you are not a machine born for me or anyone else. Your life belongs to you, and how you use it is your inherent right."
I do need your help, but if it means sacrificing your hard-won happiness and the joy of these final moments, then I would rather have never asked you for help.
My problems are insignificant compared to your happiness. Do what you love, and never put your happiness on the scales of comparison.
Arcueid was stunned; no one had ever said these words to her before. She had once been used as a tool to hunt down the True Ancestor, and after being lured by Roa, she spent the rest of her life hunting him down.
She never did what she liked like a person, and apart from Bai Mo, no one ever told her that her happiness was the most important thing.
My heart was pounding irregularly, my mind was a little foggy, and I had an urge to rush over and hug the person in front of me tightly. Even the joy I had felt before couldn't compare to this. In an instant, those memories that had once been knowledge seemed to come alive.
I want to experience it, I want to feel it, I want to spend time with someone I care about.
Countless things I want to do flood my mind like a tidal wave, and the shackles that once bound me seem to break off piece by piece.
"Arcueid?" Bai Mo looked at Arcueid, whose body was trembling slightly. Just then, Arcueid suddenly grabbed his arm and took a step forward. Then... an untimely voice rang out.
"Mr. Bai Mo, I've finished my investigation. There's some data about the lair, but I don't think there'll be time to analyze it."
Arcueid had never hated Ciel's voice so much. Ciel, who had just finished dealing with that nest, rushed back, and Bai Mo was immediately drawn to the documents in Ciel's hands. Arcueid suddenly felt her hands go empty, and then she clenched her fists tightly.
Kill her, now.
Sensing Arcueid's sharp killing intent, Ciel immediately became alert, and Bai Mo also put down the documents in his hand, looking at Arcueid whose emotions had suddenly changed drastically.
Looking into Bai Mo's eyes, Arcueid took a deep breath, patted his head, and said to Ciel, "After all this is over, I'm going to kill you."
Ciel sensed something was off about Arcueid, but this wasn't the first time she'd heard such harsh words. She retorted, "Someone like you? You'd better think of a way to avoid dying in the next battle."
"Ciel, in the upcoming battle, Arcueid, she..."
"I'm going!" Arcueid interrupted Bai Mo, saying without hesitation, "Bai Mo, don't say anything yet, I've made up my mind. I don't know why, but I suddenly have a lot of things I want to do. A few days won't be enough, so I have to go."
"Defeat Roa, then settle old scores with someone; that should allow us to hold out a little longer."
Seeing Arcueid's unyielding demeanor, Bai Mo said nothing more. As for what she suddenly wanted to do, only she knew.
"Okay, but try not to act impulsively, just leave it to me."
Upon hearing this, Arcueid muttered, "Bai Mo, you're the idiot! How are you going to deal with his 800,000 horses with only 500,000? Are you counting on Ciel?"
"It's only 800,000 horses, what's there to worry about?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the tip of the spear in Bai Mo's hand began to glow, much brighter than before. He said no more and flew towards the direction of the light.
