Satisfying the Cat
Bai Mo looked at the coffee shop and slowly said, "Since you've stated it so directly, you must be using it as a bargaining chip. Fine, I never expected to get help for nothing anyway, so..."
Upon hearing this, Neco-Arc let out a soft chuckle and said, "Hey, that's right. Just as I said, my goal is to save this world with no future. If you grant a cat's wish, the cat will allow humans to pet her paws, right?"
Walk through the three doors of this shop and complete the cat's three trials. This will not only grant you full ownership of the shop but also a treasured cat badge!
After he finished speaking, three lights came on, and the sound of the lock turning came from the door under the lights.
Upon hearing this, Bai Mo walked directly to the door and reached out to turn the doorknob, but the door remained tightly shut. Just as Bai Mo was about to force it open, the Neco-Arc's voice rang out again.
"No way, buddy. If you want to enter, you should at least bring someone with you. If you keep going alone, you'll end up in the single zone."
Bai Mo's gaze turned somewhat cold. Although Arcueid had now gained power, he still didn't want her to be in danger. Besides, if this was a trap, it would be better for him to go alone, or at the very least, he could transfer directly to the Martial God Space.
Before he could say anything, Arcueid rushed over and grabbed his arm.
"Then I'll go with you. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens."
She laughed and bumped into him, then pulled Bai Mo inside, leaving Ciel and the others outside sighing helplessly. Just then, Neco-Arc, like an audience member sensing an impending drama, said:
"Hmm~ Ciel, is this really okay? After losing the 'senior' attribute, are you unable to contend with the princess of the True Ancestor? Although you couldn't contend with her in any sense anyway."
Neco-Arc seemed to be teasingly saying this, Ciel blushed slightly upon hearing it, scolding, "What nonsense are you spouting? I'm just fulfilling my duty as Executor."
"Hmm~ I see. But it seems Lady Luck is still on your side, so be sure to seize the opportunity."
Ciel simply ignored its cryptic words. For some reason, he felt that if he were to get involved with this unknown creature, his future would be bleak.
Thinking of this, Ciel felt a sense of powerlessness. Roa was no longer able to speak; now only a fragmented soul was trapped within that body. The goal he had pursued for countless years had been achieved, but in the end, he felt a profound emptiness.
She looked towards the door Arcueid and Bai Mo had entered, and thinking of Arcueid's happy smile, finally finding her own place in the world, she couldn't help but feel a pang of envy.
When Bai Mo and Arcueid entered, they found themselves in an incredibly spacious room, almost like a city hall. In the very center of the hall, several orbs of light floated above a strange True Magic circle.
Both indoors and outdoors, Neco-Arc's tractor-like roar echoed simultaneously, "First Trial! This world will definitely not lose to that 333 guaranteed pity mobile game next door. Simply put, it's a duel between the heroines!"
"Why am I being asked to participate in the female lead's showdown here?" Bai Mo asked, his lips twitching.
No one answered. The ball of light in front of them just kept spinning, emitting colorful light. In a dark room that no one could detect, the cat-like creature was excitedly rubbing its paws together.
"One shot, one kill! SSR! Being able to choose freely is fantastic, long live designated summoning! But this strength might not be enough... so... let's replace this blonde knight with the kimono beauty from next door, both are heroines..."
What? No? Letting her out now might destroy the world? Are you kidding me? So you can't choose a limited SSR?
In another world, the world Bai Mo once existed in, the entire world had become a scorched wasteland. The last glimmer of humanity, in Chaldea in Antarctica, in the deserted dining hall at night, a Heroic Spirit was summoned, turned into light, and disappeared.
Meanwhile, on Bai Mo's side, the magic array in front of him emitted a dazzling light, and a figure appeared within it. Bai Mo felt that the figure seemed somewhat familiar.
"Tell me, are you my... Bai Mo?"
Artoria looked surprised, and Arcueid had just been poised to throw a punch, stopped and rubbed his head, asking Bai Mo, "Bai Mo, is this someone you know?"
Bai Mo nodded, feeling a sense of relief; he had finally met a normal person he knew.
Artoria immediately walked happily to Bai Mo, looked him over, and said joyfully, "That's wonderful! After the battle with Mifune, we all thought you... It's so good to see you safe and sound."
"Yes, they escaped with their lives. What about Jason and the others? Is Caren living with Kiritsugu?"
Upon hearing Bai Mo's words, Artoria paused, seemingly unwilling to discuss the topic, and somewhat abruptly changed the subject, saying, "The situation over there is a bit complicated, and it's a little troublesome to explain."
The two chatted like old friends reunited after a long separation. Seeing this, Arcueid tightened her grip on Bai Mo's arm, while the cat behind the scenes let out a mournful howl.
"What? It's someone I know? Damn it, does he really live up to his reputation as the 'central air conditioner' type?"
Looking around, Artoria asked in confusion, "Speaking of which, where is this place? I haven't seen anyone who summoned me, and I can't sense any magic."
Faced with Artoria's question, Bai Mo shook his head helplessly and explained the whole story to her. Then, Artoria frowned and said:
"In that case, I concede defeat. I have no desire to fight you. Besides, if you could return, all the difficulties would be resolved."
"Wait! I went to great lengths to extract you! If you're going to give up like this, I..." Neco-Arc shouted.
As soon as she finished speaking, Artoria turned into specks of light and disappeared. It seemed that the summoning contract had limitations, and when she simply admitted defeat, she returned to her original place.
Looking at the late-night snack in front of her, Artoria suddenly felt her appetite return and began to eat heartily.
Meanwhile, in a deserted corner of the library on the other side of Chaldea, a girl dressed in a kimono, seemingly stepping out of a painting, is flipping through a book. Beside her, a strangely shaped long sword leans quietly against the wall.
She only appears late at night, never registered, and known to only a very few people. Like a cat, she avoids everyone, enjoying the quiet night alone.
The girl raised an eyebrow, gazing in the direction of the cafeteria. Her voice was as gentle as a flowing stream as she said, "An unexpected fate? That's quite something. Compared to someone else, you're really lucky. If you have the chance, I'll find her for afternoon tea and a chat."
She placed her hand on her chest, quietly feeling her heartbeat, her expression serene as if she were having a sweet dream. She murmured, "Unbelievable, it feels like something good is about to happen. Are you going to come back to me?"
The long sword beside her hummed, seemingly confirming her suspicions.
Suddenly, a series of footsteps came from the floor, light and crisp. Just by hearing the sound, one could imagine that the person who came was a fairytale girl.
Shiki opened her eyes, a slight smile on her face, and said, "It's so late, what brings you here? Perhaps you're lacking confidence in the upcoming Singularity of the Age of Gods, Manaka?"
In the past, Shi would never have wanted to see anyone, but today she had a long-lost, inexplicably good mood, which made her meet people for the first time.
A flash of lightning appeared, and two steaming cups of green tea appeared on the desk. The man took a small, elegant sip, his gaze subtly fixed on the fairytale-like girl before him. His words were gentle, yet carried a strong undercurrent of hostility.
As Manaka watched Shiro casually manipulate the Magnetic Field Power, her small hands clenched into fists.
