Missing Persons
Arcueid spent nearly two hours enjoying the feast. Just as Bai Mo was about to talk to her about future cultivation and Crimson Moon, a tremor occurred around them.
Bai Mo looked out the window. Just moments ago, it was pitch black outside, but now it was a mountainous area under a clear blue sky.
Arcueid, that's about right, we've arrived.
Bai Mo shrugged his shoulders, shooed away Arcueid, who was licking his wound like a kitten drinking water, and began to heal the wound himself.
"Ah..." Arcueid looked somewhat disappointed, like a child whose favorite toy had been taken away. It wasn't just because the happy times were over, but also because, once she got here, Ciel might come back.
The thought of that face filled her with unease.
Stepping out of the room, I found that Neco-Arc, had already cleaned the living room spotlessly and even made two cups of coffee.
"Are you done, boss? Want a cigarette? It's really refreshing, second only to freshly caught yellow croaker and catnip."
"I don't smoke. Where are we now? Hasn't Ciel arrived yet?"
Bai Mo started drinking coffee. Although it was brewed by the cat, it was surprisingly delicious, not inferior even to a top-tier restaurant. But what the Neco-Arc said next made Bai Mo frown slightly.
"Boss, something's gone wrong here. To put it simply, we were supposed to be heading to the modern era, but we're actually in the Age of Gods, meow. It seems to be during the Mesopotamia civilization. Also, although Ciel has arrived in this world... well, he can't sense anything at all, meow."
"The cat radar can cover the entire solar system. Since it doesn't, then perhaps Ciel has already flown out of the solar system?"
Bai Mo's eyes narrowed, but Arcueid behind him, upon hearing this, jumped up like a victorious boxer and shouted:
"What? Ciel is dead? That's great!"
Ignoring the carefree big cat behind him, Bai Mo gave Neco-Arc on the ground a "you better give me an explanation" look. A few drops of sweat rolled down Neco-Arc's face, of course, in cartoonish form.
"Well, I don't know either, meow. The device they gave Ciel had bio-monitoring capabilities, and she's doing just fine."
"Sigh?" Arcueid let out a sigh of disbelief.
"As for why we came here, it shouldn't be because of this place. After all, this is the first time we've driven someone like you, an outsider, before. We've always driven those dying gunmen in blue bodysuits and stuff."
Generally speaking, this is determined by cause and effect. Boss, do you know any Ancient Babylon? Otherwise, there's no reason for you to be here.
Upon hearing Neco-Arc's words, Bai Mo slapped his forehead in exasperation. He remembered that he had indeed promised Gilgamesh something back in Fuyuki.
As for the cause and effect it mentioned, Bai Mo glanced at the Metatron Award in his hand. To some extent, this thing did help, and he was partly responsible for the Metatron Prize appearing there.
"Fine, since I promised, I'll just do it. But... Kamishiro..."
In other words, at this moment, the group of Greece gods had not yet disappeared. Thinking this, a rare hint of killing intent flashed in Bai Mo's eyes, and then he asked the group of Neco-Arc:
"It seems we'll need your help again. Is there anything you need?"
After a while, Neco-Arc, holding a pile of golden cans of cat food, said with tears streaming down his face:
"Oh, so this is how generous the new boss is! After dealing with so many heartless bastards, finally someone knows how to get along with cats. Boss, from now on, I'll work for you, meow!"
"Fine, just let me go."
Just then, Bai Mo suddenly sensed a killing intent coming from outside the door. This feeling was the same as the aura he had encountered with those magical beasts during his time in Greece. After the café appeared, he had directly arrived in this world, so theoretically anyone could enter before Arcueid put away the key.
With a deafening roar, a monster with a yellow and red mane smashed open the door and charged in. Its body was enormous, almost the size of a truck, and it reeked of blood as it roared as it entered.
"What's this?! Dogs aren't allowed in cat cafes! Watch me stuff your mouth full of chocolate, meow!"
With a loud bang, the monster flew out like a ball. Bai Mo pulled back his foot, his brows furrowing slightly.
"Wow, a Warcraft! This one's called Ugallu, right? There are actually living things like this in the outside world?"
Bai Mo reminded him, "This is the Age of Gods, and... this guy doesn't feel right to me. Arcueid, let's pack up the café first."
Upon hearing this, Arcueid immediately closed the coffee shop, but the monster in front of him showed no sign of retreating. This was somewhat illogical; most ferocious beasts, upon encountering Bai Mo, would instinctively realize that he was definitely not on their menu.
However, it showed no fear whatsoever, its eyes filled with a bloodthirsty desire, as if it had been drugged. Bai Mo activated his Magnetic Field Power to sense it, but could only perceive its heart's almost twisted desire for human flesh and blood.
This level of violence violates the fundamental principles of Warcraft; this guy isn't killing to fill his stomach, but killing for the sake of killing.
Ugallu opened his blood-red maw, and in an instant, a powerful force surged forth. Bai Mo raised an eyebrow; the force before him was a power cannon mixed with magic and nearly 50,000 Magnetic Field Power.
"Roar!" The powerful force was unleashed, and even a town would be pierced through with a huge hole by this attack.
All that remained was a ravine, with dust billowing in the air; the humans who had just been there had completely vanished.
"Whoosh!" Ugallu roared proudly, but the next second its skull exploded, and warm brain matter gushed out like a fountain, splashing onto the Daichi. Bai Mo appeared in the sky at some point, and then fell like a bolt of lightning.
Only then did the sonic boom reach its ears.
The ferocious beast from before was now merely carpet beneath his feet, not even worthy to stain his boots. Dealing with this beast was simply a matter of routine for aerial reconnaissance.
"No matter how many times I watch, Bai Mo, your use of power is much better than mine," Arcueid said from the side.
"Want to learn? I'll teach you when I have time. With all your strength and True Ancestor talent, it's a waste to just keep throwing stones. But for now, let's go see someone I know."
Mesopotamia is now teeming with these things. This isn't just a monster anymore. I really don't know what happened. I hope he's still alive.
While in the air, Bai Mo had already taken in everything around him. He looked into the distance and saw that the city of Uruk was still inhabited by humans. It was hard to imagine how humans could survive in such a godforsaken place.
Just as the two were about to leave, a voice came from where the coffee shop had been.
"Fu!"
Cathy Palug emerged from the smoke and dust, her body now shrunk to about the size of an adult Ragdoll cat, and jumped onto Bai Mo's shoulder.
Bai Mo looked puzzled and asked Arcueid, "Didn't Altrouge Brunestud take it with her back then?"
Arcueid rubbed her head, seemingly deep in thought, but Bai Mo, who knew her well, knew perfectly well that it meant: I don't know.
Bai Mo shook his head helplessly, and the two people and the Beast Transformation a beam of light and flew towards Uruk.
Deep in the universe, on an abandoned planet that no probe can find, lies Ciel's home.
"Where am I?!"
Ciel let out a wail, looking at the desolate landscape before her, she felt utterly frantic.
