Chaos
In the hall of Uruk, Gilgamesh stared silently at the clay tablet in his hand that recorded the situation, like a statue, or a patient who had learned that he had a terminal illness.
A somewhat oppressive atmosphere seemed to hang over the hall. After some time, footsteps sounded. Quetzal entered the temple and greeted everyone.
"Long time no see. It took me quite a while to transport Marduk's hand axes and Gorgon, but thanks to your efforts, things went smoothly here."
Quetzal gestured towards Bai Mo, looking at the hand axe outside that was taller than a mountain, which had already attracted a crowd of onlookers.
"Very good. Marduk's hand axe might be a bit of a stretch against Enlil or Tiamat right now, but if used properly, it can still be quite effective against those Lahmu."
But that's not the biggest problem right now. Quetzal, you're a god too, right? Look at this, what exactly is that guy trying to do?"
Gilgamesh waved his hand, and a crystal-smooth stone tablet emerged from the Gate of Babylon, depicting the scene of the sky collapsing. Enlil seemed to know that Mery possessed the [Clairvoyance] that allowed her to observe the present, so he made no attempt to conceal it.
Seeing this, Quetzal's sunny smile vanished, replaced by a look of confusion.
"This? Isn't this Chaos?"
Upon hearing this word, everyone was slightly taken aback. Gilgamesh's blood-red eyes flashed continuously, as if he were pondering.
Quetzal looked at Bai Mo and said, "You should have read the myths of later generations. In most myths, the Chaos described at the beginning is basically in this state. Although the gods on this planet are basically born from the planet and do not reach the scale of the universe, the initial descriptions are all similar. They all originated from Chaos and then began to create the world."
In Sumer mythology, it was Enlil who lifted up the sky and the Daichi, thus giving rise to the concept of 'space'. The current intertwined heaven and earth are what they looked like before Enlil lifted them up.
As a fellow god-king, Quetzal immediately saw the merging process, but she was also somewhat puzzled: why was Enlil doing this reverse creation?
If the goal is to destroy Mesopotamia, there are naturally many better ways. Once heaven and earth are separated, it is extremely difficult to close them again; returning to Chaos is no less difficult than creating heaven and earth.
Moreover, this process will be incredibly slow; it's not like a hamburger with a patty inside—it's not that easy to close it again.
"Regardless, we can't ignore something like the sky falling down, and the scope of this crisis is expanding. We have to stop that guy, but we only have two capable fighters on our side..."
Upon hearing this, Ishtar stood up straight with her hands on her hips and said sharply:
"Given the current situation, you're not still hoping to save Uruk, are you? The difference in strength between the two sides is too great; we have to go all in. If the other side loses, Uruk will be finished too!"
Looking at Gilgamesh, she rebuked him without hesitation, but what she said made sense. If they split into two groups, Bai Mo would not only have to deal with Enlil, but also possibly the world- World-Destroying Demon God that appeared in the Underworld.
Gilgamesh waved his hand at Ishtar as if shooing away flies, and said:
"Foolish! Do you think I wouldn't know something you already know? But the enemy makes no attempt to conceal their intentions; they've likely already laid Heavenly Net and Earthly Web, committing all their high-end forces. That would be utterly devastating."
He sighed deeply. If he could see through Enlil's true scheme, he could find a way to deal with the problem. But ever since the Magnetic Field Power appeared, the future had become very unclear. Moreover, the thoughts of gods were hard to fathom, and those of the God-King were even harder to fathom.
Just as everyone was deep in thought, Bai Mo raised his head and said:
"Let's stick to the previous tactics. I'll lead the attack, Arcueid will hold Uruk."
"Huh? You're being way too overconfident. Enlil might not care about a warrior's honor. He'll definitely use any trickery and outnumber the enemy if he can."
Ishtar retorted, and Gilgamesh nodded in deep agreement, saying:
"Yes, at least let Ishtar, that useless fighter, go scout ahead first."
"You're using this as a pretext for personal revenge, aren't you!"
"You're completely useless! Besides, you said yourself that there are definitely traps over there. At least you, this useless goddess, could be used to clear mines, right?"
Seeing Ishtar clench her fists, preparing to fight Gilgamesh to the death, Bai Mo pressed down on her shoulders to stop her:
"Alright, now is not the time for internal strife. Let's proceed according to the previous plan. And Ishtar cannot be allowed to get into trouble. In the upcoming battles, both she and Ereshkigal must try their best to avoid getting into danger."
Upon hearing Bai Mo's words, Ishtar was somewhat surprised and blushed, while Gilgamesh narrowed his eyes. He knew very well that Bai Mo only cared about the big picture, and he also understood Bai Lubao's personality, having had the most contact with her on the front lines.
Since he said that, he must have guessed something.
Bai Mo and Gilgamesh exchanged glances, and Bai Mo spoke:
"Enlil disposed of all the remaining Sumer gods without exception. Generally speaking, the Sumer gods weren't all tough guys, but he only left behind the powerless Enki and the unsuspecting Ishtar and Ereshkigal."
Bai Mo's words have been very clear: in the conflict between the gods and Enlil, wasn't there a single god who surrendered to him?
By taking Bai Lubao under his wing, Enlil had already demonstrated that he wasn't a bloodthirsty madman. Yet, he still went on to exterminate all the gods around him, making the implications quite clear.
He needs to kill all these powerful gods.
Hearing this, Gilgamesh nodded in agreement and said, "Alright, let's go with your tactics." As he spoke, he tossed a golden key to Bai Mo.
As the tiny golden key arced through the air, Ishtar's eyes widened. She opened her mouth, almost drooling, and asked in a trembling voice:
"Hey, this isn't..."
"This is a spare key to my royal treasury. Using this, you can directly open the Gate of Babylon. Although most of the treasures have been placed on the city walls at the front, there are still quite a few treasures similar to the Imaginary Number Compass from before."
This is the greatest support I can offer.
Go! This is the final battle. I assure you, Uruk will not fall before I die in battle!
Without another word, Bai Mo took the key and walked out of the palace. Inside Uruk, countless people seemed unaware of impending doom; they continued living as usual.
After taking one last look, Bai Mo turned and left, leaving a trail of afterimages in the air.
Meanwhile, Enki, still wearing his hood, slowly stepped down, his aged face restored, and entered the crowd. He no longer resembled a god; he looked like an old man on his deathbed.
