Blades and edges
Footsteps echoed down the corridor leading to the room. Bai Mo and Arcueid turned around simultaneously and saw a petite figure appear at the end of the corridor.
Arcueid's pupils contracted slightly, while Bai Mo wore an expression of utter confusion, as if he had seen something incomprehensible. On the other side, Da Vinci covered his mouth tightly with both hands, seemingly trying to suppress a laugh.
It was a girl of about seven years old, with long black hair that fell to her feet. She was wearing a kimono of the same style as Japanese style, and her face was very similar to Japanese style, but her eyes were somewhat like those of Bai Mo.
What's going on?
Bai Mo was somewhat puzzled. Then, the little girl ran up behind Bai Mo, grabbed Bai Mo's clothes, and looked at Arcueid in front of her with some wariness.
"Who is she?"
"No, who are you?" Bai Mo wondered. "Could it be Shi playing another prank?"
Just as he was about to say those words, Arcueid's eyes lit up, and he said with a smile:
"So cute! Is this Bai Mo Mo's child? The eyes look just like yours."
"No, why did you come to that conclusion?"
Bai Mo pressed down Arcueid's outstretched hand, but the girl behind him looked like she was about to cry and said to him:
"Don't you want me and Mom anymore? Why are you bringing other women home?"
At this moment, Bai Mo was certain that it was definitely a prank. He took a deep breath and, enduring his headache, said:
"Stop fooling around, who's upset you this time? You haven't turned into this, have you?"
As he spoke, Bai Mo reached out his hand to the girl behind him. The girl looked heartbroken and on the verge of tears. Then, in the next moment, Bai Mo was pulled behind Arcueid.
"Even after all this, you're still talking about pranks? I guessed you had an old flame here, but I didn't expect your child to be so big already?"
"I take back what I just said about you, you stupid woman."
However, Arcueid completely ignored Bai Mo's protests. Looking at the lovable, pitiful girl in front of her, she introduced herself very generously:
"Hello, you can call me Arcueid. Hmm, those eyes really do look like Bai Mo's. Don't worry, you can call me Mom."
A flash of hostility crossed the girl's eyes, and she took two steps back.
Bai Mo grabbed Arcueid's ear and said, somewhat speechless:
"What are you talking about? Calm down! Do you like children?"
"I have absolutely no interest in children, but isn't this obviously not your child? So isn't it only natural that I like her? After all, I love you so much."
"It's a bit of a shame that it wasn't the first one, but I can't take it out on the child, can I? What did you mean by that expression?"
Bai Mo slapped his head. He seemed to hear a silent laugh. He took a deep breath and grabbed her ear, saying:
"What on earth is your brain made of? I thought you had at least some normal ideas. Putting aside our relationship, a man who already has a child should be completely dismissive of anything!"
Upon hearing this, Arcueid stomped her foot, revealing a set of sharp teeth, and pointed at Bai Mo angrily, saying:
"What do you mean? Am I not qualified to raise your child?!"
"Your immediate priority should be using your Magnetic Field Power to understand what's happening, not spouting these True Ancestor ideas you picked up from who-knows-where!"
"Fine, so you think I'm a vampire and therefore unfit to take care of children! I'm angry!"
Da Vinci, who was laughing so hard he was breathless, lay on a wooden chair. Then, a beautiful white figure appeared from behind her, with a long sword at her waist, and silently walked into the living room. The little girl had disappeared without a trace, as if she had never existed.
Shiki and Arcueid locked eyes, and a hint of annoyance crept into her smile.
When Arcueid arrived, Shiki was already there. She originally intended to drag him away and deal with him privately, but after seeing Arcueid deliver a bunch of gift packages along with Avici Uninterrupted, she changed her mind.
Since it's a gift, it shouldn't be treated roughly.
So, Shiki decides to create a misunderstanding, transforming her body into a daughter who, in both appearance and feeling, bears elements of both herself and Bai Mo. Then...
To my surprise, instead of getting angry or acting upset, this guy seemed quite happy.
This guy is a problem.
Seemingly sensing Shiki's gaze, Arcueid narrowed her eyes. Inside her, Crimson Moon spoke coldly, her tone tinged with disbelief:
"As expected, it's the Vortex of the Root..."
The room, which had just been warm, suddenly became icy cold, as if one were in the deep sea where two giant beasts were fighting.
"Shi, your pranks are getting more and more creative! And what did you go about your business?"
Upon hearing Bai Mo's words, the two simultaneously suppressed their auras, reached out and tossed their long hair, saying:
"A prank? I don't understand, what are you talking about?"
Seeing that familiar smile, Bai Mo shrugged helplessly, then walked over to Bai Mo's side, pinched his ear, and said:
"Speaking of which, aren't you going to introduce this person to me? I thought he was just a friend of yours back in Uruk; I never imagined they had this kind of relationship."
However, before Bai Mo could speak, Arcueid crossed his arms and said coldly:
"There's no need for that. I just introduced myself. As someone from the Vortex of the Root, you should be able to easily obtain information. I wasn't sure back in Uruk, but it turns out it's the real deal..."
"I'm sorry, but could you please stay away from him? After all, that crazy woman connected to the Root caused a lot of trouble before. If even the connection has become like that, I can't imagine what will happen to you?"
Arcueid's tone suddenly changed, losing all its previous liveliness and taking on an unassailable air of authority.
"Oh dear? How dare you even use the word 'trouble'? After receiving help, you became even more greedy, and when you were abandoned, you cried and made a scene."
Is this so-called princess a greedy one? In terms of trouble, you far surpass Miss Manaka, don't you?"
Shi's words remained as gentle as the wind, but her eyes were already flashing with a cold light, and the long sword at her waist exuded a sharpness.
Caught between the two, Bai Mo suddenly felt like leaving, but Arcueid had come because of him, so he had to stay, otherwise who knew what those two might do.
Why do these two look like mortal enemies the moment they meet? I thought they both dislike snakes and would have something in common.
"Um, could you two sit down and talk? Although this is only the second time we've met, you shouldn't have any deep-seated grudges, right?"
For the first time, Bai Mo felt how powerless words were. Their gazes met head-on, and he seemed to see the surrounding environment transform into two terrifying behemoths, ready to fight each other.
Arcueid's smile turned dangerous. Bai Mo knew very well what that smile meant; it was a smile she only showed when facing Ciel.
"Greedy? Ah, you probably can't understand that so-called love is about devouring everything, leaving nothing behind, Miss Bai Mo."
"So you really are a vampire? But do you have the right to eat them? I have a feeling that after you confessed your feelings and were rejected, you acted like you were going to die, resorting to this shameless method to force him to take you along?"
A shameless woman only brings trouble, doesn't she? Like Miss Manaka."
Arcueid's hands curved into claws, while Shiki placed his hands on the long sword at his waist.
"Um, you two..."
Bai Mo said somewhat weakly, but the next moment the two of them said in unison:
"Bai Mo, wait a minute!"
Please be quiet for a moment!
The atmosphere on the field became even worse.
However, right after the two finished shouting, a strange change suddenly occurred on Bai Mo's body. A faint blue light shone, seemingly pointing in a certain direction.
Like a flame stirred by the wind, or a moth chasing the light. Flickering like breath, as if resisting something, or perhaps urgently pointing the way.
