An art discussion
The Chaldea are located on Mount Narodnaya in the Ural Mountains of Russia.
Bai Mo didn't know how they had rebuilt Chaldea in fifty days, nor did he care. But the intense energy fluctuations that had just occurred still drew him over.
There's no other way; this place is just starting out, and it can't afford any more setbacks.
They arrived here in an instant, and Bai Mo saw Olga Marie, who looked like a drummer performing at a music festival, covered in sweat and looking very tired.
"You guys are pretty fast! You rebuilt it so quickly. What just happened?"
Bai Mo asked, but when Olga Marie saw Bai Mo, she looked like a little girl who had done something wrong, even with a hint of guilt.
"Yes... I should have welcomed you back as the director of Chaldea, but I'm still negotiating with that guy, so it's hard to say yet."
As for why it was rebuilt, please forgive me...
Before Olga Marie could finish speaking, a figure suddenly pounced on Bai Mo from behind. Arcueid tightly hugged Bai Mo's neck, her long golden hair whipping through the air like a beautiful wave.
Arcueid? You're here too.
"What are you saying? I built this place, you know."
Bai Mo was somewhat surprised, not expecting Arcueid to be willing to help. Just as he was about to ask for the specific reason, Olga Marie quickly pulled Bai Mo aside and let out a strange laugh.
"Haha, we're dealing with some things here, but it's almost turned into a courthouse. Bai Mo, would you like to come and take a look?"
Then, seemingly to stop the conversation from continuing, Olga Marie hurriedly pulled him away.
There was no other way. Recalling what Chaldea was built upon, Olga Marie felt an indescribable sense of unease. This was something Bai Mo himself absolutely could not know, otherwise...
Let's move a little further back in time.
Since being brought here by Bai Mo, Olga Marie had been somewhat restless, not because there was anything wrong with the place. Rather, compared to the plague-ridden Chaldeas, even the worst place seemed like paradise.
But ever since Bai Mo encountered the Chaldea group, Olga Marie has felt a sense of crisis.
"Am I... going to be laid off?"
The person who takes office disappears right away, and then you find that a second director has appeared, and you've been completely replaced—that's something I don't want.
Furthermore, judging from his words, it seems he bought Chaldea through proper channels, right? Good heavens, how is this any different from a husband who returns home after an accident and finds his house gone?
Although Chaldea now in ruins, I must protect my identity no matter what. My family has been ruined by Marisbury, and if nothing unexpected happens, I may even face the Mage's Association's purge in the future.
Now, the Chaldea Directorate is all she has left!
She held a meeting with Da Vinci in a dark room...
"Please help me, Da Vinci! I can't lose Chaldea!"
Looking at Olga Marie's childlike spirit, Da Vinci finally understood why Olga Marie had secretly dragged him here.
This dark little room protected Olga Marie's last vestige of dignity.
Da Vinci didn't mind. Although Goredolf had performed quite well during this period, she still preferred Olga Marie, with whom she had always been close. Moreover, it was clearly more interesting to follow Olga Marie's lead now.
"Even if you want my help, as the director, shouldn't you at least offer some reliable advice?"
"Hmph, of course!" Olga Marie waved her hand, revealing an exquisite architectural drawing of the facility, which was none other than the design blueprints for Chaldea.
"I had this planned all along. Now that Chaldea is destroyed, we'll build a new Chaldea. That way, not only will the original employees be able to rejoin my ranks, but that guy will also be helpless!"
Hmph, once Ritsuka and the others return, I'll show them who's really in charge of Chaldea!
Da Vinci's lips twitched as he looked at the energetic Olga Marie and asked:
"Um, I have a question, what does reconstruction entail...?"
"Let's start with steel bar smelting. We can make the smelting machine, right? We're short-handed right now, but I'll take care of the mining!"
Da Vinci had a fleeting thought of fleeing back to the Throne of Heroes.
"You and Olga Marie, are you going to build a Chaldea together by hand? How long would that take?" Almost instantly, she realized she had to stop her. If she chose this method, her major could be directly changed from art to pure civil engineering.
And so...
"So, why did you come all this way to see me? You're that woman's friend, right? You know perfectly well that I don't get along with that guy."
Arcueid looked at Da Vinci who had arrived and Olga Marie behind him, who was trembling slightly, and spoke with a hint of coldness in his voice.
"Advisor Da Vinci, perhaps we should head back first... This is no longer just True Ancestor level being..."
For ordinary Magecraft, Arcueid is an extremely dangerous target. Normally, any Magecraft would be on high alert when encountering Dead Apostle.
Arcueid, however, was an unimaginably enormous behemoth.
Da Vinci's heart was clearly much larger than Olga Marie's, and he stepped forward with ease, saying:
"Saying we don't get along or anything, it's only our first time meeting... But that's not quite right either, we've met a few times before, Princess of the True Ancestor."
"Ah, indeed. You seemed to have used my Bai Mo as a model for your copying before, didn't you? Did artists of that era just start painting without asking for the other person's opinion as soon as they saw something?"
Arcueid was referring to the situation when the two of them were together. Considering that they seemed to be acquaintances of Bai Mo, Arcueid had simply ignored her at the time.
"In this day and age, portraits that have been artistically processed and are simply for personal collection do not constitute an infringement of portrait rights."
The mention of collecting made Olga Marie visibly feel the air temperature drop. Fortunately, Da Vinci's continued speaking eased the somewhat suffocating atmosphere.
"And would you like to see it? I'm quite confident in my painting skills."
It must be said that Arcueid was somewhat interested; she was quite fascinated by classical art. But after seeing it, she finally understood what Da Vinci's so-called artistic creation was all about.
"How?"
"The muscle definition is a bit too soft... I have a detailed description of what it should look like. Please make another copy based on this; I want to hang it in my bedroom."
The two of them pointed and commented on the scene like art collectors, and the painting in front of them was naturally the one in which Arcueid pounced on Bai Mo on the sofa.
The only difference is that Da Vinci used his imagination to optimize Bai Mo's clothes.
Then, Olga Marie looked at Arcueid, who had just been an aloof and unattainable figure, with a complicated expression, while Da Vinci was seriously discussing techniques related to the human body in painting.
Ultimately, Olga Marie made her choice between her inner moral compass and her sense of responsibility to Chaldea.
The first pot of gold in capital is always sinful.
Olga Marie comforted herself by accepting that her Chaldea would be built on such a premise, albeit as a self-comforting excuse. At the same time, she sincerely prayed that this thing would not be discovered by the true entity.
So, after Bai Mo dragged the entire Russia Lostbelt into it, Arcueid waved his hand and directly Marble Phantasm, creating a one-to-one Chaldea on Mount Narodnaya, the highest peak in the Ural Mountains of Russia.
