Settling accounts
After Bai Mo briefly recovered his strength, he prepared to deal with the mess caused by the spacetime war. He had just come out of the room when he saw Draupadi's worried gaze.
"Draupadi, it seems you're alright... no, you look a little weak."
Bai Mo reached out, and the life force of the Asura Way instantly surged into her, helping her recover and also stopping her from bowing.
"Alright, there's no need to be so formal."
Bai Mo was somewhat puzzled as to why Draupadi always treated him with such deference, but regardless, she needed to resolve her own affairs. Draupadi asked with some concern:
"I heard that you... will be leaving soon?"
"Yes." Bai Mo nodded and replied, "I'll be going to a very far place, probably somewhere I'll never see again in this lifetime. Don't worry, I'll take care of things here before I leave."
Draupadi seemed about to say something, but then lowered his gaze.
"Okay, may your future be smooth sailing, and may the Dharma always be with you. Although it may sometimes change course like a river, the riverbed of compassion will remain forever."
In your future, you will surely meet those who walk alongside the Dharma.
After offering her blessings, Draupadi returned to the window, and Bai Mo clasped his hands together in farewell. But as he left, Draupadi asked in a slightly trembling voice:
"May I ask you another question? I used to ask Krishna I had doubts, but..."
A hint of sadness and regret flickered in Draupadi's eyes. Bai Mo also stopped in his tracks, stepping onto the stairs leading to the second floor and into the shadows. Draupadi stood by the window, sunlight bathing her.
"It's nothing, just ask. I can't be so confident that everything I say is the Dharma. Just consider it the opinion of someone from afar."
"That's enough, Mr. Bai Mo... The war happened suddenly, and I'm not yet aware of my father's condition. I want to ask you, if one day my father has to leave me, what should I do? Should I offer sacrifices and prayers for him every day?"
Bai Mo's lips twitched, and he waved his hand in reply:
"There's no need for such exaggeration. Just take care of your own life, Draupadi. Your parents brought you into this world, but this is ultimately your life. Daily rituals and prayers are not good."
If the father is full of love for the child, the child will naturally reciprocate with love. This cannot be measured by material standards. The human heart has its own scale; as long as one feels that one's conscience is clear, that is enough.
Don't be bound by titles; people should pursue their own happiness as long as they don't break the law or violate morality.
Upon hearing this, Draupadi smiled in the sunlight, gave a slight bow to the person before her, and then said, "Have a safe journey."
After saying goodbye to Draupadi, Bai Mo had just stepped out of the stairs when he saw Kama lounging lazily on the handrail, his Ruby- like eyes slightly raised, revealing his perfect figure in the sunlight.
"Have you said goodbye to that girl?"
"Yes, although I really dislike the feeling of parting, saying goodbye is something that must be said clearly and directly."
Bai Mo stood up, Kama took the opportunity to put his arm around his, saying, "There's no need to worry. She's been through all of this, and she will leave her mark on history."
Besides, given her circumstances, she will most likely ascend to Vishnu's realm of gods, so it's not exactly a final farewell.
Bai Mo nodded slightly, then muttered to himself, "I'll have to go find Ganesha or Lakshmi, the goddess of fortune, and ask them to take care of me. Sigh, I'm not good at dealing with gods."
Upon hearing this, Kama narrowed his eyes slightly and smiled, "You don't need to worry about that. They'll probably agree to whatever you ask for without hesitation."
After saying that, Kama belatedly realized something and pointed at Bai Mo, saying, "Later, if you think those guys' suggestions are feasible, don't be too generous. These people need your help. Just say what they need, or I'll 'name your price'."
Bai Mo was still somewhat puzzled by Kama's words. As Gamo led her down the corridor and opened the main hall door, Bai Mo couldn't help but raise her eyebrows.
Karna's main hall wasn't particularly luxurious, but at this moment, it surpassed any other palace in the world. Seated in rows of celestial beings, they sat cross-legged on simple cushions, seemingly having waited a long time.
"Once Karna rents out everything in this place, he'll never have to worry about finances again."
In India, there are quite a few fanatical believers willing to spend large sums of money to acquire these artifacts used by the gods, although Karna would most likely be very generous.
Near the entrance stood a god with a human body and an elephant's head; without needing to be proclaimed, it was none other than Ganesha, the god of wisdom. He rose and clasped his hands together before Bai Mo, saying:
"We've finally met! Come on, find a seat and make yourself at home, but I recommend sitting next to me. When the food is served, this seat will be the first one we get."
Ganesha's words lightened the atmosphere considerably. Looking straight ahead, one could see the sun god Surya sitting to one side, while the god of fire was on the other.
To Bai Mo's surprise, the Snake King Takshaka also had a spot in the corner. He was rubbing his hands together, head down, but his eyes were full of joy.
"Alright, Ganesha, there's a right time to enjoy good food, and you wouldn't want to bring the divine Soma wine here to drink, would you?"
Indra's voice came from the main seat, but strangely, Indra's position was covered by layers of thick gauze.
"Your Majesty, I was just trying to ease the tension. Besides, I've heard that it's best to discuss matters in the East over a meal."
"What? There's such a custom? Tsk, why didn't you say so sooner? Karna, did you arrange for a cook?"
The gods laughed heartily, the atmosphere relaxed, like a casual cocktail party. Bai Mo, however, answered for Karna first, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do. There's no need to go to such lengths. Although I'm curious why Indra is sitting behind the curtain... well, since you're all gathered here, you must have something to tell me."
Seeing that Bai Mo didn't ask any further questions, Indra breathed a sigh of relief. A chuckle came from behind his seat, and Indra turned around and glared at the Ashvins with annoyance.
At this moment, Indra's head was wrapped in layers of gauze, and the Ashvins were using their divine powers to help heal him. Recalling the situation, he still felt a dull pain.
Rewinding to a slightly earlier time, while Bai Mo was resting, Indra, having brought Arjuna's soul—who would become the God of the End— into the Heaven, was preparing to return to his throne as the supreme ruler and enjoy a good rest, perhaps even a massage from his maidens...
"How can you sleep so soundly?"
Suddenly, a sack was placed over the head of the King of Gods. Then, Kama, who was hiding behind the veil, picked up the Jingang and smashed it directly into Indra's face, embedding his head into the throne of the god-king.
Then, Kama pulled out the Moonlight Mace he had retrieved from Duryodhana's corpse and slammed it into the Jingang like a nail. The terrifying power made even the Heavenly Emperor feel his skull shatter.
Clearly, Kama was determined to settle all scores this time, including the old grudge of being burned alive, and the fact that this guy had interfered at the crucial moment. So, she launched the sack-covering-face sneak attack.
Although Indra's actions were made as a father, they violated the Dharma, which is why the gods turned a blind eye to Kama's sneak attack.
"This violent maniac..." Indra rubbed his head, while the Ashvins behind him and his wife Shachi, covered their faces and laughed:
"God, you have indeed fulfilled your responsibilities as a father this time, but you have also violated the Dharma. Besides, isn't it better to get a beating from Kama than to argue with Vishnu?"
"What are you saying? You're making it sound like I'm afraid of that Narottama!"
"Of course not, Great Heavenly Emperor. You accepted the sneak attack from Kama God because you didn't want to make things difficult for the guardian deities. Otherwise, your dispute with Narottama would have led to widespread suffering."
Otherwise, with your divine power, how could you have been ambushed by a mere Kama god?
"That's right!" After coaxing his wife, the goddess Shachi, Indra resumed his previous haughty demeanor, if one ignored the wound.
"No, Shachi, how could Kama dare to ambush me? It must be that despicable Mara has once again controlled Kama's body. Ashvins, remember this and let the world know that God only used Mara's stupidity and arrogance for the sake of the world."
The Ashvins strained their facial muscles, repeatedly reciting their duties in their minds, and uttered, "The Heavenly Emperor is wise!"
