The Beast's Shadow
Upon returning to his room in New Darlington, Bai Mo noticed something extra on his bed. He placed the fruit aside, lifted the covers, and saw Melusine lying on top of him, hugging her pillow.
"If I remember correctly, this should be my room."
Bai Mo's tone carried a hint of helplessness. Upon hearing this, Melusine rubbed her sleepy eyes. She was wearing a pure white gauze nightgown, like a pure white wave on the ocean.
"I know, that's why I came here." Melusine shifted her body, making room for half of the bed, and then patted the other side of the bed.
Before she could say anything more, the door was rudely opened, Morgan, looking at Melusine with an unfriendly expression, grabbed Bai Mo's hand.
"Didn't we say we were going to talk about mirrors? Now I happen to have some time."
Melusine pouted slightly, looking quite adorable, but she still wrapped herself back in the blanket, muttering, "Even though we agreed to give it to His Majesty during the day, I feel like I'm getting ripped off."
Your Majesty, I'd like to renegotiate the employee benefits later.
Morgan ignored Melusine and let her continue sleeping.
I'll arrange another room for you later.
"Never mind, I don't need to sleep. When I'm fighting in Lostbelt, I usually pass the nights through meditation. I just went out for a bit, to the Autumn Forest..."
Bai Mo recounted the situation at Autumn Forest and Oberon's information in detail, and Morgan fell into thought upon hearing this.
"That's certainly possible. That bastard Beryl has extended the curse that originally worked on fairies to humans. If Cernunnos finds out about this..."
However, it's time to head to Camelot next. Camelot is located right between Oxford and New Darlington. We'll go there first to wait for Woodwose's good news, where we'll complete the cutting of Cernunnos and the surface of Britain.
Afterwards, kill all the fairies, leaving only those in New Darlington and Autumn Forest... These fairies are discarded, lacking in intelligence. If they can survive the trial in the Court of the Innocent using the magical artifact you provided, then their lives may be spared."
With the Sword of Kalki combined with Morgan's Court of the Innocent, it will be a severe trial. Bai Mo can basically see the scene of all the fairies being judged.
"There's one more thing, reach out your hand."
Morgan took Bai Mo's left hand, and then the Command Spell Seals flashed, the three Command Spell radiating a crimson glow.
"This is..."
"Perhaps it should have been replaced long ago. There are some things... I should have told you long ago. Within my body is the Spirit Origin bestowed by Morgan, a former Ruler of the Pan-Human History, so I can sign a contract like a normal Servant."
There was no contract before because you are not someone I can discard like Beryl once you lose your value. I should give you enough respect, and a contract can only be signed after my former Master dies.
This makes communication much easier, and at the very least, you can use Command Spell to summon me to your side.
"That does surprise me a bit; you actually care about these formalities."
Bai Mo stretched out her hand and looked at the back of her hand. The flow of magic was very clear. Magecraft of Morgan's caliber naturally did not need to supply magic; she had plenty of ways to do so.
"This is something we absolutely must pay attention to, and you should also be more mindful of it. Also... regarding Bawanshi, I'm usually very busy, and I'm a bit rusty when it comes to raising children..."
Morgan's cheeks flushed slightly, and she turned her head away, not wanting him to see, but this only created a striking contrast in the image of the Winter Queen, giving her a gentle, warm feeling like the winter sun.
"Well, Beryl was a damn good guy, but he only showed a genuine smile when he was with Bavan Shi. Now that he's dead, I hope you can build a good relationship with Bavan Shi... how should I put it..."
Morgan seemed a little hesitant at this moment, while Bai Mo waved his hand and laughed, "It's nothing. It just so happens that I'm also in charge of the education of a child who lives a bit far from home."
This is my first time doing something like this either, but we can exchange experiences. I've already introduced her to Bavan Shi, and I believe they'll become good friends.
For the first time, Morgan felt a warm, sunny feeling in her heart. She looked up at the man in front of her and a rare, pure smile, somewhat like Caster's, appeared on her face.
"Yes, I will treat that child as my own."
On the other side of Britain, Woodwose returned to Oxford. He rubbed his eyes, almost unable to believe what he was seeing. The city he had built, a city of bronze and iron, was now engulfed in flames of war.
"No, what happened?"
Woodwose suppressed his shock, breathing heavily as the Lung of the Planet provided him with a steady stream of power. He focused his gaze and saw a scarlet figure wreaking havoc in the heart of Oxford.
It was a gigantic figure, the size of a ferry, entirely crimson, with crimson lightning crackling around it. The moment Woodwose saw its form, he recognized what it was.
"The Calamity of the Beast... Damn it, how did it end up here... No, my physical condition is too poor. This beast probably doesn't have any intelligence. I need to find a way to take the Clan Bell, and then abandon this city."
Woodwose has terrible emotional intelligence, but excellent combat wisdom. He's not one of those fools who just charges in blindly; when faced with an enemy he can't fight, he knows when to run.
He ventured in alone, avoiding the Calamity of the Beast and the truck-sized black dogs, and sure enough, the Bell Tower was unharmed. Woodwose smiled and patted the Clan Bell of Oxford.
Just as he was about to leave with the Clan Bell on his back, he heard some movement beneath his feet.
"Who?!"
"It's us, Fairy Lord..."
Woodwose stared in disbelief at what he saw. The creatures on the ground were none other than humans. Not a single fairy from the Fang Clan could be seen; only this group of humans remained.
"How is this possible? So many of my powerful warriors have died in the mouths of those beasts. How could you weaklings possibly have survived?"
When Woodwose saw the pack of black dogs outside and the Calamity of the Beast, he felt that no human could possibly survive in Oxford, and he was ready to apologize to Morgan.
"We don't know why, but the huge beast didn't attack us. The other black dogs wanted to attack, but they were all stopped by the beast."
"Sir, what exactly happened?"
Woodwose rubbed his chin, thinking that since the humans were still alive, he had to follow orders and take them away, but he would definitely be targeted by the Calamity of the Beast, and then these people would not be able to leave this place.
Suddenly, an idea came to him.
"I'll lure away those black dogs and the Calamity of the Beast later. You all run towards Camelot, as fast as you can, understand?"
