Chapters 1–25 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 1A Young Boy, Full of Troubles

After dying in a truck accident, Bai Mo accepted three hours of immense power from a system, used the time to settle his affairs and find a new home for his cat, Bozai, then disappeared. A mysterious man watched over Bozai and remarked that Bai Mo was interesting, though he still had to remain cautious.

  • Bai Mo was struck by an out-of-control truck while riding to his night job and died.
  • A system offered to reincarnate Bai Mo, but he refused until it promised him temporary power to take revenge on people he resented.
  • Bai Mo accepted the system's three-hour limit, withdrew his savings, bought a special meal, and destroyed his phone.
  • Bai Mo fed Bozai one last time, brought the cat and his supplies to a cat café, and left a note asking it to take Bozai in.
  • Bai Mo dissolved and vanished, while a mysterious man put Bozai to sleep and said the cat would need to live without his owner.

Ch. 2Great Saber

Bai Mo entered the system’s training space to develop his electric current push, but the overseer trapped him there until he could cleave the sea and break the waves. After narrowly escaping drowning by lifting the enormous blade blank, Bai Mo recognized the overseer as the Great Blade Martial God.

  • Bai Mo arrived in a mountain forest in another world and learned that the system could provide electric current push and access to a training space.
  • Bai Mo entered the training space, a beach beside an endless sea, and spent half a month developing basic strength and endurance.
  • When Bai Mo tried to leave, the system told him that the overseer had to grant permission and that he needed to find the overseer.
  • A black iron blade blank emerged from the sea with instructions that Bai Mo had to train with it and cleave the sea before he could leave.
  • As a rising tide trapped Bai Mo underwater beneath the blade blank, he summoned his strength and lifted it.
  • The Great Blade Martial God appeared, and Bai Mo recognized him as the figure Bai Wunan had once given a three-move handicap.

Ch. 3Three years

Bai Mo endured years of brutal training under the Great Blade Martial God, mastered the Avici Hell Blade, and learned that he needed a personal reason to wield the Peerless Demon Blade. After Great Saber sent him through a vortex, Bai Mo left the training shore with his blade blank and said goodbye to his master.

  • Bai Mo trained with the blade blank until Great Saber healed his ruined hands, taught him the Avici Hell Blade, and left him a stone tablet of techniques.
  • Bai Mo spent three years training, while Great Saber later returned and guided him through flaws in his technique.
  • Bai Mo tested his strength against the stone tablet but failed to damage it, and Great Saber warned him against arrogance before challenging him with a tsunami.
  • Bai Mo used Eighteen Levels of Hell to cut down the waves, and Great Saber told him he remained at Electric Current Push with about thirty percent of the Complete Realm.
  • Great Saber explained that Bai Mo needed his own blade intent and a reason to swing his blade, then sent him through a vortex.
  • Bai Mo bowed to Great Saber, took the blade blank that appeared after he left, and said goodbye to his master.

Ch. 4Where Did I End Up? Is This Still Fuyuki?

Bai Mo was sent not to modern Fuyuki but to ancient Thessaly, where he encountered Jason and learned that the system needed power from gods to return him home. After Jason left for Pelias’s palace, a talking snake directed Bai Mo toward Athena’s temple, and he agreed to seek the goddess’s blessing by accomplishing a great deed.

  • Bai Wunan appeared after Bai Mo entered the portal, blocked Great Saber’s attack with one finger, and revealed that he had changed Bai Mo’s destination.
  • Bai Mo emerged beside an ancient Greek harbor, accidentally knocked Jason unconscious with his unfinished blade, and learned he was in Thessaly.
  • Bai Mo recognized Jason as the Argo’s captain, while the system explained that it lacked power to return him and could recharge by drawing power from gods.
  • Jason went to Pelias’s palace, and Bai Mo wandered along the shore, where a talking snake approached him.
  • The snake urged Bai Mo to seek Athena’s temple, and Bai Mo refused to accept the goddess’s gifts without earning them.
  • The snake told Bai Mo to accomplish a great deed and undertake an adventure to gain Athena’s blessing, then departed for land.

Ch. 5Misplaced mercy

Bai Mo avoided becoming Athena’s retainer but went to her temple after a confrontation with a dishonest blacksmith revealed how dangerously strong he had become. He arrived at dusk and heard Athena ask what he sought.

  • Bai Mo decided to visit Athena’s temple before leaving, and declined offers of help while asking directions.
  • A blacksmith tried to pressure Bai Mo into trading his blade blank for a sword, so Bai Mo challenged him to a contest.
  • Bai Mo struck the blacksmith through his smithy, breaking the man’s arms and his sword, then realized he had nearly killed him despite using little strength.
  • Bai Mo learned the location of Athena’s temple and traveled there without showing off his superhuman speed.
  • Bai Mo entered the temple, saw Medusa’s head carved on Athena’s shield, and heard Athena ask what he had come seeking.

Ch. 6An olive branch

Bai Mo accepted Athena’s olive-branch blessing and learned that Jason was destined to recruit him for the Golden Fleece voyage. After joining Jason, Bai Mo used the prince’s token to negotiate supplies from the palace, leaving the steward under pressure to hand over more.

  • Bai Mo asked Athena for guidance, and she told him to stand beside Jason, the country’s future king.
  • A priestess gave Bai Mo an olive branch blessed by Athena, which cleared his mind, while his silent system offered no help.
  • Jason arrived at the temple seeking guidance about the Golden Fleece, and Athena directed him to recruit Bai Mo.
  • Bai Mo agreed to join Jason’s voyage, then split from him to negotiate for supplies using Jason’s token.
  • The palace steward tried to bribe Bai Mo into abandoning Jason, but Bai Mo demanded sixty percent of the supplies.

Ch. 7Setting sail

Bai Mo secured a leaden arrow from Athena to keep Jason focused on the Argonauts’ quest, then faced a blacksmith who had sold the soldiers shoddy weapons. After Heracles killed the blacksmith, Bai Mo questioned what kind of person he wanted to become and left at dawn with the Argo’s expedition.

  • Bai Mo asked Athena for a leaden arrow to guard against Jason abandoning the quest for love, and Athena obtained one from Cupid.
  • At the eve-of-departure banquet, Bai Mo noticed Heracles and was confronted by the blacksmith he had previously spared, who brought soldiers to attack him.
  • Heracles intervened, recognized the soldiers’ weapons as the blacksmith’s poor work, and killed the blacksmith; the soldiers fled.
  • Bai Mo turned the blacksmith’s body to ash and spent the night reflecting on his character and future before setting out at dawn.

Ch. 8The Women's Kingdom of Lemnos

Bai Mo and Jason’s crew landed on Lemnos, where the women welcomed them and Jason and most of the heroes stayed to enjoy the palace’s comforts. Half a month later, Heracles prepared to bring the heroes back to their quest, while Bai Mo trained at sea under Atalanta’s watch.

  • Bai Mo defeated Polydeuces in a boxing match by controlling the angle and force of his strikes, earning the heroes’ cheers and Heracles’s praise.
  • Jason and the crew investigated Lemnos after Atalanta noticed its walls were unguarded, and the island’s women welcomed them as honored guests.
  • Jason became involved with the queen, and most of the heroes remained on Lemnos for nearly half a month, leaving Bai Mo, Hylas, Atalanta, and Heracles aboard the Argo.
  • Atalanta angrily complained that the heroes had abandoned their quest, and Heracles promised to make them remember their duty the next day.
  • Bai Mo trained with a heavy blade blank in the sea at night while Atalanta watched him from the ship.

Ch. 9Roar

Bai Mo pushed the Argonauts to leave Lemnos and warned that the women might sabotage the Argo to keep them there. As Jason and Bai Mo waited in disguise to uncover the city’s secret, several people approached the ship with tools.

  • Bai Mo refused to teach Hylas, explained why he avoided forming attachments, and urged Hylas to investigate the city’s gutters.
  • Bai Mo gave Atalanta Athena-Cupid’s lead-colored arrow and warned Jason that it could strip him of worldly desires, prompting Jason to support Heracles’s call to leave Lemnos.
  • The women of Lemnos rushed toward the Argo as the heroes prepared to depart, and Bai Mo suspected they planned to sabotage the ship that night.
  • Bai Mo showed Jason an ordinary dagger Hylas had found in a gutter and pointed out the mystery of the vanished men and the women’s silence.
  • During a rainstorm, Jason disguised himself in plain clothes and joined Bai Mo to investigate, while several people approached the Argo carrying saws and hammers.

Ch. 10A Wicked Woman?

Jason and Bai Mo confronted the women who had killed their husbands and tried to sabotage the Argo, then Jason faced a difficult farewell to the queen. Later, Bai Mo returned to Heracles and openly challenged the gods’ treatment of humanity, leaving Heracles torn between agreement and divine loyalty.

  • Bai Mo and Jason frightened the women sabotaging the Argo by pretending to be the murdered men’s ghosts, and Jason drew his sword to judge them.
  • Bai Mo stopped Jason and asked one of the women to tell them the full truth, while the rain concealed her confession.
  • The Argonauts slipped away from Lemnos, and Bai Mo urged Jason to say goodbye to the queen, who rode toward the ship.
  • Bai Mo gave Hylas a lead-colored arrow and warned him about the dangers of being Heracles’ handsome attendant, making Heracles laugh.
  • Bai Mo told Heracles that the gods were responsible for human suffering and that he respected only his master, leaving Heracles conflicted.

Ch. 11The Flag

Bai Mo purified seawater for the crew and helped Heracles defeat the giants at Doliones, though his struggle to grow stronger continued. After the victory, Atalanta’s observation that Bai Mo wielded lightning led Jason and Heracles to suspect he was a son of Zeus.

  • Bai Mo used his magnetic field power to turn seawater into drinking water while the ship’s supplies ran low.
  • Atalanta found land at Doliones, where giants attacked the Argo and Heracles and Atalanta fought back.
  • Bai Mo joined the battle, using the giants’ boulders and his unfinished blade to kill them while Heracles shot down their vanguard.
  • Bai Mo failed again to break through, then joined the victory banquet and let the celebration ease his dejection.
  • Atalanta told Jason and Heracles that Bai Mo’s blade had glowed with lightning, and Jason concluded that Bai Mo was a son of Zeus.

Ch. 12A close call

Bai Mo used lightning to stop the Argonauts and islanders from killing one another after a storm blew the Argo back to the island. His display convinced the gods and his companions that he was Zeus’s son, leaving Bai Mo with an explanation for his powers that could bring him either fortune or trouble.

  • A storm struck the Argo at night, but Jason steered the ship through it and brought the crew safely clear.
  • Bai Mo realized the Argo had drifted back to the island and that the storm had blown away the glowing flag he had meant to use to identify the ship.
  • The islanders and Argonauts began fighting in the darkness, and Bai Mo used lightning to make them recognize one another and stop.
  • The king thanked Bai Mo for preventing more deaths and declared him an eternal friend of the nation.
  • On Mount Olympus, the gods assumed Bai Mo was Zeus’s son, and Polydeuces treated Bai Mo as his half brother.

Ch. 13huh?

Bai Mo traveled with the Argonauts as the little god of love tried to force him and Heracles off the Argo. Hylas was seized by a spring goddess, while Artemis stopped Cupid’s attempt to make Atalanta fall in love with Bai Ermo and punished him.

  • Bai Mo grew more comfortable among the Argonauts, while Cupid received orders from the gods to make him leave the Argo.
  • On the island, Bai Mo told Hylas that the gods would not count Heracles’s Hydra trial and that Heracles would have to rely on himself.
  • The spring goddess grabbed Hylas, and Bai Mo moved to rescue him before Atalanta pulled him back.
  • Cupid tried to shoot Bai Ermo with a golden arrow, but Artemis’s arrow shattered it.
  • Artemis confronted Cupid for targeting her follower and shot him with her bow.

Ch. 14Wishes

Bai Mo rescued Hylas from the spring goddess and used the lead-colored arrow to break the love god’s influence over Atalanta and the goddess. After Hylas chose to stay with the goddess, Artemis visited Bai Mo, while Atalanta secretly listened to their conversation and three goddesses sensed that a predetermined fate had changed.

  • Bai Mo asked Atalanta to let him rescue Hylas, then fought his way through the spring’s currents and brought Hylas and the goddess of the spring to the surface.
  • Bai Mo used the lead-colored arrow on Atalanta, extinguishing the love god’s influence, and explained that no one should control her feelings.
  • Bai Mo used the arrow on the goddess of the spring, who apologized but said she still loved Hylas; Hylas chose to stay with her, and Heracles, Jason, Atalanta, and Bai Mo wished him well before leaving.
  • Artemis confronted Bai Mo about Atalanta, and he explained that he respected her right to choose her own fate and did not intend to pursue love while he planned to leave the Age of Gods.
  • Atalanta secretly overheard Bai Mo and Artemis talking, while three goddesses noticed that a predetermined fate had changed and decided to watch Bai Mo.

Ch. 15The So-Called King

Bai Mo defeated King Amycus in a boxing match, then challenged him to choose between being a king and a boxer. Amycus changed course, brought supplies to the Argo, and introduced Bai Mo to a beautiful woman, while Atalanta reacted jealously from a distance.

  • Polydeuces asked Bai Mo to face Amycus, and Bai Mo defeated the king with a series of powerful punches.
  • Amycus rose for another attack with his subjects cheering, but Bai Mo knocked him down again and confronted him about neglecting his duties as king.
  • Bai Mo identified the Bithynian who had tried to incite the crowd, and Amycus ordered the man's execution that night.
  • Jason worried that the Bithynians would refuse to sell the Argo supplies, but Amycus arrived with provisions and proposed a feast.
  • Amycus told Bai Mo that he had stopped boxing and begun investigating problems in his kingdom, then introduced a beautiful woman who wanted to stay by Bai Mo's side.
  • Atalanta fired an arrow that cut the woman's hair and shattered Jason's cup, while Bai Mo mistook her cold stare for the influence of Artemis.

Ch. 16The blind old man

The Argo’s crew rescued Phineus from the harpies, but Jason’s mention of Heracles shattered the blind prophet’s confidence in his visions. Phineus foretold that Bai Mo’s futures ended in death and urged him to seek his thread of fate as the Argo reached the Clashing Rocks.

  • Heracles, Bai Mo, and Atalanta led the crew to a ruined temple, where they met the starving, blind Phineus and learned that harpies had been tormenting him.
  • The heroes drove off the harpies, and Phineus warned Jason that the Argo would face the deadly Clashing Rocks and should test them with a white dove.
  • When Jason mentioned Heracles, Phineus realized his prophecy had not accounted for Heracles and despaired that fate had only shown him what it wanted him to see.
  • Bai Mo urged Phineus to act despite his fear, and Phineus agreed to divine Bai Mo’s future.
  • Phineus told Bai Mo that nearly every path led to death and that he needed to obtain his thread of fate from the goddess of fate; meanwhile, the Argo reached the Clashing Rocks.

Ch. 17The Clashing Rocks and the Sea Monsters

The Argo tried to pass through the Clashing Rocks, but sea monsters seized the ship and threatened to trap it. Bai Mo and Heracles defeated the monsters and used their bodies, along with Bai Mo’s power, to lift the Argo onto the rocks as they closed.

  • Jason decided the Argo would pass through the Clashing Rocks after the white dove survived the passage.
  • A sea monster grabbed the Argo underwater, and Heracles struck its tentacle with a Hydra-poisoned arrow while the crew rowed.
  • Bai Mo leaped into the sea and severed the first monster’s tentacles, but a second monster seized the ship.
  • Heracles plunged underwater to attack the second monster, and Bai Mo told him to place the monsters’ bodies on either side of the Argo.
  • As the Clashing Rocks closed, Bai Mo gathered power in the seawater and punched upward, lifting the Argo onto the rocks while the crushed monsters’ bodies cushioned it.

Ch. 18Arrival

After Bai Mo helped the Argo pass the Clashing Rocks, the crew reached Colski, where he decided to pursue his own fate and obtain his thread from the Three Goddesses of Fate. On Olympus, Poseidon accepted his sea monsters’ failure, Ares prepared to act, and Athena and Hera discussed how Medea could help Jason secure the Golden Fleece.

  • Bai Mo was celebrated for saving the Argo, but Asclepius ordered him and Heracles isolated and made the crew sanitize the ship.
  • Bai Mo and Heracles concluded that the sea monsters were connected to the gods, while Bai Mo considered seeking Athena’s protection from Poseidon.
  • After the Argo reached Colski, Bai Mo told Jason he would act alone and resolved to obtain his thread of fate before Athena’s deadline.
  • Poseidon dismissed his defeated offspring, and Ares declared he would act against Heracles and Bai Ermo after they reached Colski.
  • Hera warned Athena that Ares could join a war if Colchis sacrificed to him, and Athena proposed using Medea’s love for Jason to obtain the Golden Fleece.
  • Hera questioned whether Bai Ermo’s lead-colored arrow and dislike of manipulating emotions would disrupt Athena’s plan, then left to find Aphrodite.

Ch. 19A Vicious Woman

As the Argo approached Colchis, Medea feared Heracles would destroy her country, but Bai Mo proposed a way to avert war by giving Jason the Golden Fleece and later taking it back. Medea volunteered to act as a mole, while Bai Mo refused to help her and continued seeking the Goddess of Fate’s temple.

  • King Aeëtes learned that Heracles was aboard the Argo and asked Medea to defend Colchis with her True Magic.
  • Medea dreamed that Heracles slew Aeëtes and defeated her magic, then woke in terror and went out to clear her head.
  • Bai Mo met Medea and explained that Jason sought the Golden Fleece to claim the throne, while the gods’ designs made conflict likely even without him.
  • Bai Mo proposed that Colchis give Jason the Golden Fleece and reclaim it afterward, and Medea recognized that the plan required a trusted mole.
  • Medea volunteered for the mission and asked Bai Mo to help, but he refused because he was searching for the Goddess of Fate’s temple.

Ch. 20The Thread of Fate

Bai Mo followed Medea to Hecate’s temple, where he rejected three tempting destinies and demanded his Thread of Fate. Hecate gave Medea the thread to compel Bai Mo to help defend Colchis, leaving the two facing the conflict between her duty and his freedom.

  • Medea agreed to guide Bai Mo to Hecate’s temple in exchange for information to help her approach the Argo’s crew.
  • At a crossroads in the forest, Hecate offered Bai Mo three possible paths, but he refused them and insisted on choosing his own fate.
  • Hecate revealed that Medea was the Colchian princess and gave her Bai Mo’s Thread of Fate, which could make him fight for her.
  • Medea apologized because she intended to use the thread to force Bai Mo to help save Colchis.

Ch. 21Preparation

Bai Mo watched Medea fall in love with Jason, then learned that Aeëtes was preparing Colchis for war and a sea blockade. Jason decided the Argonauts would leave only after trying to seize the Golden Fleece, and the heroes prepared to act.

  • Bai Mo reconsidered his plan to incapacitate Aeëtes and Medea after seeing that Medea might help the Argonauts.
  • Little Eros shot an arrow that made Medea fall in love with Jason when she saw him aboard the Argo.
  • Bai Mo left the Argo to meet Medea, who warned him that Aeëtes had won Ares's blessing and Colchis's fleets were preparing a blockade.
  • The Argonauts argued over whether to flee or fight, and Jason decided they would leave after making an attempt to take the Golden Fleece.
  • Bai Mo, Heracles, Atalanta, Polydeuces, and the other heroes prepared to set out while Telamon objected to relying on Medea.

Ch. 22Trapped in the Inferno

Jason and his companions reached the Golden Fleece, but the venomous dragon attacked them with fire and poisonous smoke. Bai Mo rescued Atalanta from the dragon’s jaws, though its teeth pierced his left arm.

  • Medea used magical perfume to conceal the group as they entered the grove where the Golden Fleece hung.
  • The venomous dragon attacked from above with fire, and Bai Mo shielded the group while Heracles failed to pierce the dragon’s scales with an arrow.
  • Medea gave Atalanta the Blood of Prometheus ointment, and Atalanta entered the flames to retrieve the Golden Fleece.
  • Atalanta became disoriented by the dragon’s poisonous smoke, and Bai Mo went after her when she failed to return.
  • Bai Mo called Atalanta away from a hallucination that was leading her toward the dragon, then hurled his blade to drive the creature off.
  • The venomous dragon lunged at the poisoned Atalanta, but Bai Mo stepped into its mouth and held it open as its teeth pierced his left arm.

Ch. 23The joy of battle

Bai Mo fought the venomous dragon to protect Atalanta and used the Golden Fleece to exploit the creature’s fear of angering Ares. He bought them time to recover, then began planning their next move with Atalanta.

  • Bai Mo used his tempered bones and complete realm to injure the venomous dragon with powerful punches and kicks.
  • Bai Mo fought through the dragon’s poisonous smoke, but rushed to shield Atalanta when the dragon spat venom at her and took some venom on his back.
  • Atalanta offered to distract the dragon, but Bai Mo raised the Golden Fleece over them, forcing the dragon to swallow its poisonous flames rather than risk destroying it.
  • Bai Mo explained that the dragon would not destroy Ares’s valuable bargaining chip, then led Atalanta away while bluffing to conceal his need to recover.
  • Atalanta offered to carry Bai Mo, but he refused and asked whether she trusted him before outlining a plan to deal with the dragon.

Ch. 24Slaying the Dragon

Bai Mo and his allies defeated the venomous dragon in the burning forest and escaped with the Golden Fleece. As they rode toward the Argo, Atalanta thanked Bai Mo, who promised he would not abandon any of his comrades.

  • Bai Mo sent Atalanta running with the Golden Fleece while he waited for his body to adapt to the dragon's poison.
  • Heracles ambushed the venomous dragon with arrows, giving Bai Mo time to seize it and choke it while Heracles struck its head, heart, and wing.
  • Bai Mo fought the wounded dragon through the flames and killed it with a final blow to its skull.
  • Atalanta and Heracles helped the exhausted Bai Mo leave the burning forest, and Heracles gave him the arrowhead that had tripped him.
  • Medea prepared horses, and the group reapplied invisibility ointment and rode toward the Agor with the Golden Fleece.
  • Atalanta thanked Bai Mo for saving her, and he told her he would not abandon anyone from the Argo.

Ch. 25Past and Present

Jason and the heroes escaped Colchis with the Golden Fleece, while the injured Bai Mo recovered aboard the Agor. Jason confided his regrets and worries about Medea to Bai Mo, then resolved to find a way to take the Thread of Fate from her and protect the crew from turning against one another.

  • Jason and the heroes fought their way aboard the Argo with the Golden Fleece and escaped Colchis as soldiers cursed and pursued them.
  • Asclepius examined Bai Mo's rapid healing and asked him to cooperate with medical research, but Bai Mo refused.
  • Jason thanked Bai Mo for his help, then admitted that he regretted abandoning the woman who loved him and feared the consequences of their quest.
  • Bai Mo encouraged Jason to accept life's hardships, and the two joked about Jason's future and his feelings toward Medea.
  • Bai Mo told Jason that Medea held the Thread of Fate and could use it to control him, prompting Jason to resolve to take it from her and protect the crew.
